Announcing the Goodreads Android App!
Download the Goodreads Android app now! »
We heard you! Due to overwhelming popular demand, we've developed a new app for all you Android aficionados out there. Wander through the stacks of your local library or peruse the shelves of your favorite bookstore while simultaneously browsing Goodreads reviews. The next time you are deciding what to read, your to-read list will be handy. We're excited to make Goodreads more mobile and easier to access, and we will continue to add fun features for Android fans!
This initial version of the Android app offers:
- Check updates from your friends and those you follow
- Read friend reviews and community reviews of any book
- Manage your bookshelves
- Search our catalog of more than 8 million books
- View your profile and browse your shelves
- Find book recommendations from friends and other readers
If you own an Android device, we hope that you will give the Goodreads app a whirl. We welcome feedback, so please rate and review the app! (For iPhone users, we have an app for you too!)

still i had some bugs and i had to refresh it evertime it shows me a white screen! over all its not that bad its fine even that the thing that it misses beside those bugs with the white screens is the notifications : i cant see when someone comment me in my profile or comment in reading status.. over all is good

Christine, I verified the crashes on 1.5, sorry about that. We did a quick review about 1.5 just now, there are a number of problems with no immediate solution. Android 1.6 is definitely supported, hopefully your phone can be upgraded?

So am I completely out of luck?

Thank you thank you thank you! It's so nice that you guys are at least going to try rather than leave me in the dust like so many other app developers.
Even if it's unsuccessful just know I appreciate your willingness to include us lowly 1.5 users :)

You guys are my HEROES!

:: I am a new member of Goodreads.
I have hundreds, perhaps thousands, of books to add. I want to add an entire batch of books at once.
:: I want to tell the app that I'm entering an entire batch via scanned ISBN codes, offline.
:: I expect the app to loop through exactly two landscape-mode screens. One is the scanner itself. The other has thumb-friendly buttons for "Scan Next", "Bad Scan; Repeat", and "Finished".
:: Only when a batch is finished do I need an Internet connection. When I click a menu command for "Upload this batch", my previously stored account settings take care of all the details.
:: When I see a "Batch Uploaded" message, I can start another batch, or (of course) jump to other app features.
That's it. What I certainly do not want is a tedious repetition of single-book actions, with lots of superfluous clicks, uploads, displays, and menus.
