Michelle Very pleased to see this list, grief awareness needs to be more of a thing.

E.M. Williams I found this book elegiac about what it's like to lose a friend you work with on creative projects. I wish novels about grief were listed here. Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow

message 4: by Juli (new)

Juli I read TJ Klune’s novel “Under the Whispering Door” after my mom died, and it’s such a beautiful, healing, hopeful story.

message 5: by Janet (new)

Janet The novel Hamnet is a stunning portrayal of what it is for a mother to lose a child. I’m not sure it would help someone going through that though.

message 6: by Lauren (new)

Lauren Tennet I also recommend: The Smell of Rain on Dust by Martín Prechtel. A poetic book full of indigenous wisdom on grief and praise. (Even grief as praise.)

Sharn Dhah Wave Wave by Sonali Deraniyagala helped put things in perspective.

Victoria Claringbold I recommend Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto an award winning novel that looks at love and loss in a beautiful, spare way. I loved it.
