Are you new to reading mysteries and thrillers and feeling overwhelmed by where to start? As all good detectives know, narrowing down the list of possible suspects is the first place to start. And we're here to help!

Here are some of our recommendations for mysteries and thrillers to try, based on other recent pop culture you might enjoy. From cozy country houses to suspenseful true crime to magical murder, this list should give you a good hunch about what to read next.

I really enjoyed all the Joe Ide IQ books, good suggestion

Allie I agree with the IQ by Joe Ide suggestion for Sherlock fans, it's a great book! Also for Sherlock fans I would recommend The House of Silk

Sarah Sajadi If you like mystery and YA the Charlotte Holmes series is REALLY good - descendants of James Watson and Sherlock Holmes go from enemies to partners when they’re framed for a murder based on the infamous Sherlock cases.

My son and I just flew through the series - excellent character in interesting situations!

Alan If you like "You" try reading......"You". Must have taken hours of computers analyzing algorithms and a staff of dozens to come up with that one....🙄

Amber If you can, check out the audiobook - it is the rare one I found even better on audibook because of the second person narration and also because the narrator was amazing (it's the man who was the voice actor of Hans in Frozen).

I couldn't, in good conscience, recommend any books to someone who leaves one star reviews on an author's entire collection on the same day. Obviously without reading them.
