The Top 100 YA Books on Goodreads
A battlefield where wild magic fills the air. A high school where a fierce rivalry transforms an entire town. A near-future wasteland where a group of misfits seeks something greater than survival…
This is the world of YA. Whether you're a lifelong fan or a curious reader looking to try something new, come along with us as we reveal the very best of the genre.
There are thousands of YA books, so how did we go about finding the most beloved ones on Goodreads? We started by focusing on what's been added the most to Goodreads members' shelves. But this isn't simply a popularity contest; we wanted the best. So we narrowed down our list to include only books with at least a four-star average rating. We also decided to select just the first book in a series—otherwise prolific authors like Leigh Bardugo, Marie Lu, and Sarah J. Maas would claim many more spots on this list.
And now, without further ado, we present the Top 100 YA Books, ranked by popularity on Goodreads. How many have you read? Tell us in the comments!

28 read so far and 26 on my to-read list!

I've read 29 and own maybe half of the ones I haven't read.

Sorry I could resist

But they are classics isn't this a YA list, ya know for the stereotypical teens who like to read.. which is very stereotypical
So far only ten... 😁 I know, I know... I'm disappointed in me! too! Although, to be fair, some of these are not my style! 😂 Also, half of them are my tbr list! 😊
I have read 5 of the books on this list, but most of those 5 books were the first in a series and I have read all of that series. Also, I agree that the YA label does not describe me as a reader - a clue is that this year is the 45th year since my high school graduation.

BTW, despite the sex it’s really not that bad for teens IMO (that being said I am a teen who reads shit like Mr. Mercedes, Berserk, Preacher, etc. I’m in high school (12th grade now) and my parents like that I have any sort of interest in books in general). They’ve most likely seen shit that’s MUCH more graphic than that online and perhaps in other books so...
Oh, and if YA referred to the age of the main characters, how the hell would It (referring to the Stephen King novel) not be in this list.
9. I have some work to do! It's missing the Michael Vey series, though. One of my favorites & completely clean. Not even a single curse word.
Only 4/100, but I've read a lot of other books that aren't on here for some reason! They're definitely YA.
I think I've read 29--there were a few before I started on Goodreads that weren't marked as read. But there are several on my to-read list!
38 and three halves! That means I didn't finish them for some reason.
