Wisdom Doesn’t Come with the Age Territory

It’s been over a year since I’ve written, much less published an article, or have been able to collect my thoughts in one place.

However, there has been this nagging thought about wisdom, its origin, how it matures, and above all else, how it’s applied.

Wisdom comes only from understanding and understanding often only comes from experience.

The problem is not everyone takes away the same lessons or perspectives.

Especially when it comes to severity and possible importance or even l...

Filling the Gaps with Creativity

If you see a constructive way to fill a gap, do it.

You can either be a gap filler or creator.

Both serve a purpose, yet only one leaves an empty feeling.

How you fill the gap doesn’t have to be fancy either, often the simple solutions are the elegant ones.

Because there’s a chance that someone is waiting for the good you’ve been over-perfecting.

Abandon all the reasons it won’t work and hold on that little sliver of belief that it will work.

Starting small but thinking bi...

Branding, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), and Santa Claus

The original version of this article appeared on a site I used to run over a decade ago called “HowsYourBlog”. While the site and clever domain are no longer in my posession, it’s somehow being kept alive on a weird ghost server.

So here we are with a “evergreen” piece of content with that pop culture sprinkle as the content marketing and search engine optimisation people so desperately love to reference.

Just Keep it..

Most people will agree that short and sweet is the way to go.

Others may argue that having something long and detailed is where you gain the most.

Neither of these two ways are wrong, but it is up to you to decide which path to tread.

Whether your designing, writing or something else in the freelance world the most important thing is to keep it simple.

It is way too easy to design with all the cool new ideas that float about around us thinking ...

That 2001 Style Blogging with a 21st Century Twist

So it started with a random moment of nostalgia reflecting upon the joy of just creating and sharing things in between the sometimes unpredictable “fail whale” moments.

Twitter Fail Whale

That nostalgia moment then led to this tweet:

2001 style blogging where you just had fun sharing what you learned/knew + finding cool blogging friends and sharing each other's stuff. pic.twitter.com/rBlbDq6RBz

2020: Achieving The Unimaginable

If you tell yourself that you can’t, you won’t.

If you tell yourself that you can, you’re more likely to try.

When you’re more likely to try, you’re more likely to win.

Achieving the unimaginable doesn’t require any special skills, it does require a willingness to show up.

More importantly, how you show up.

If you’re going to a party, chances are you bring something along.

Why not take the same approach with life?

So here we are at this pivotal point in history, hopefully asking ourselves, what unimaginable things can I ac...

Select Your Level

Life is as complex or simple as you make it.

Believe in what you do and the energy to endure will be present.

Approach life half-heartedly and it’ll be difficult to see the next step.

So what level do you want to be on?

Depending on the answer you may want to roll up those sleeves and prepare to dig deep in the mud.

The Notions We Hide Behind

You’ll often hear how someone “manifested” or “visualized” their success.

What’s rarely paid attention to is the long hours and valleys that brought them to that point.

It’s easier to grab hold of a motivational quote or inspirational meme and share it.

With just a few taps or swipes, you can now be a motivational coach, with a few more likes you’ll be an “influencer”.

Now you’re running a rat race to show how awesome you are.

We tell ourselves how successful we’ll be if only we can get a po...
