Respect is Defined

Day 58 of 365.

We’re lead early on to believe that respect is something that’s earned.

So we live our lives seeking external validation for what our why should be.

Essentially filling a premium car with unleaded gas.

But what if the reality is that respect isn’t earned but defined?

Meaning, we get the treatment we allow ourselves to receive.

If you allow others to define what and who you should be in order to be viewed as good enough, then you give up who you are just to fit in.

Independent t...

The Pivot

Day 57 of 365.

There are moments when you know deep down inside which lane is truly yours.

To operate in any other lane just doesn’t feel natural.

Thing is the transition to that lane may not be as easy as you would like.

Inspiration is a tricky thing.

If you’re not careful you’ll end up inspiring everyone else except yourself.

It’s in that moment when you find yourself caught in the conundrum of what should happen next.

Thing is you already know.

It’s just a matter of weighing the pros and c...

Think Before You Speak

Day 51 of 365.

Too many of us jump to speak before things are thought through.

It’s as if the train of self control and diplomacy is lost and a complete primal mind takes over.

Then when the dust settles and things get awkward the regret slowly starts to settle in.

Just a brief moment before we reply to someone can prevent a heated discussion or even worse a burned bridge.

Empathy is much like hygiene. It’s something that must be practiced daily.

And not just the pretty social media meme type...

Destined For More

Day 49 of 365.

Looking back is a catch 22 of a task.

The reality is, we can’t change the past.

We also can’t really change the future.

The only thing that truly exists is right now.

Not yesterday.

Not tomorrow.

So why waste it worrying?

If you’re sowing the right seeds and nurturing things as you should, why is that not enough?

Move on to the next thing and get it as far as you can before you have to wait on your next turn.

Agility is simply the ability to read the information present and rea...

Dreams Sold Separately

Day 48 of 365.

We all dream.

Some of us dream of the perfect business, relationship, or even day.

Others dream of the perfect moment or never have to worry again.

There’s nothing wrong with dreaming.

In fact, it’s helpful to have dreams.

They give us something to aim towards or hope for.

But it’s when we give up on those dreams that things get a little tricky.

We think that just because we have a great idea that it’s entitled to all the available resources.

Truth is, without putting in the wo...

Getting Back On Track

Day 47 of 365.

We all get lost.

It’s a part of the process.

To think that success is a straight line is to deceive yourself out of any possible blessings.

Given time you’ll find that each new level of life will challenge you in ways that appear different but are only remixes of the levels prior.

Growth can only happen when you trust the process.

Strength can only be gained when you push yourself beyond the zone of comfort.

Its ok to fall down.

It’s not ok to stay down.

Especially when you hav...

Clear the Queue

Day 46 of 365.

There’s always something to be done.

Work never truly stops piling up.

Especially on the personal development layer.

There’s a ton we interact with.

And there’s even more you’ll barely get the time to even do.

Before you dig into the fun stuff we have to organize and prioritize.

Otherwise you’ll end up spinning your wheels thinking you’re accomplishing a lot, when the reality is that you’re just all over the place.

So what are you procrastinating on? What would your life be lik...

Love Deeply

Day 45 of 365.

Sometimes you have to remind yourself to do what you can, with what you have.

Otherwise you’ll end up waiting for things to be perfect and end up bitter in the end because you never tried.

This includes loving deeply.

It shouldn’t have to take a tragedy, near death experience, or losing a loved one to prompt us to slow down and truly care.

Time is too short to keep wasting your gift.

The one gift we’ve all been given is love.

So use it deeply.

The post Love Deeply appeared firs...

Daring Greatly

Day 44 of 365.

It’s scary to think about the future and rightfully so.

What if that isn’t the point and we’ve been pursuing success the wrong way?

Even scarier to think about.

As a society would a unanimous mindset change even be possible?

Most likely no.

But this is where things get better.

Despite the global conscientious being fixated towards riches and things as a statement of success, there will be a few that dare to think differently.

These brave few are the ones willing to fail early a...

Growth Isn’t Supposed to be Easy

Day 43 of 365.

Moving pieces are everywhere.

Some organized. Some not.

Growth isn’t easy.

But nothing worthwhile ever is.

Because if it were easy, would you still enjoy the end result?

But what about the moments you stumble and get a few cuts. Those are the moments we’re never quite prepared for.

This is where having a strong support system will help you to keep things in the proper perspective.

Remember, it’s never really about quantity.

Yet it’s always about quality.

Followed by consistency...
