Break Through

Day 66 of 365.

It’s on you.

Simple as that.

Because whether you think you can or can’t, you’re right either way.

However if a life of average and blaming others doesn’t fit who you are, then there’s work to do.

It’s on you to keep pushing and break through the obstacles.

No one is going to do it for you.

So either you stand still waiting on inspiration to hit or you lean in and let it catch you in motion.

Which will you choose to do?

The Other Shoe

Day 65 of 365.

It’s easy to demand excellence from others. But how often do we demand it from ourselves?

You and I have our own personal struggles and goals. However, at the root we require the same basics to live.

Thing is we also differ greatly.

Usually in the area of what we value and how that influences what we fight for.

It’s in this space we forget to take the time to understand things from the opposite perspective.

Growing up I would always hear that the truth has three sides, your sid...

Accepting Growth

Day 64 of 365.

How often do you wish for an experience that you’re going through to be easier?

They key to accepting growth is to keep pushing.

Especially in the moments you feel like you can’t.

The thing is growth isn’t complicated.

We make it complicated like most things that we do.

The sooner you accept the growth moments within your life, is the sooner you’ll reach the heights you aim to attain.

So what will it be?

What You Want vs What You Need

Day 63 of 365.

Oh how often do we get the two confused.

Thus leading ourselves down a path of never truly commiting to a set path.

Why?

Because we’re distracted by each new shiny object that promises us to be the thing we think we need.

What you don’t see in the equation is how much farther along you’d be if you aimed more for what you need over the temporary wants.

This is where even the smartest amongst us stumble.

You see life is essentially one big test.

Not on what you have or accomplish...

Own The Awkward

Day 62 of 365.

We’re all weird.

There truly is nothing called normal.

Until context is really applied.

The beauty is in owning the awkward.

Owning the things that make you who you are.

It’s when you live fully by owning the awkward parts that life yields unto you the things that truly matter.

Set aside the plans of trying to be like someone else.

Instead simply aim to be the best version of yourself daily by aiming always upward.

Awkward bits and all!

The Battle of Time

Day 61 of 365.

There will never be enough time to do all the things.

That’s why it’s important to to the necessary things and leave the fluff behind.

The more you wait to do what gives fire to your soul is the less you’ll actually be able to do the thing.

It’s also the more regret you’ll have in the end.

Thing is you’ll need guidance for none of us can do it alone.

It won’t hurt to kneel and pray either.

The battle with time comes down to are you going to get up and do the hard work or sit id...

Everything to Lose

Day 60 of 365.

Imagine not having to worry about bills, drama, racism, sexism, or any of life’s negatives.

Wouldn’t that be a great day?

Unfortunately that isn’t the world we live in.

The reality is there is everything to lose when it comes to stress, anxiety, and feeling not enough.

In short, the way to that is through forgiveness.

Forgiveness of self, the past, others, and even those who spread negativity.

It won’t be easy either but think about this, does all of that really lend itself to...

Reflecting On the Journey

It’s been an odd 16 years.

It’s hard to believe that so much time has passed by.

Even crazier is the fact I’m not even 30 yet.

Yet here I am at the nexus of design, programming, user experience, and now more so entrepreneurship and business.

To sat that things have just been interesting would be a severe understatement.

No two days have been alike.

Despite the ups and downs, the apparent and subtle racism, and self doubt, I’m seriously grateful for it all.

Because if it weren’t for all of tho...

Let Them Underestimate You

Day 59 of 365.

Even though we really aren’t supposed to, you and I make a lot of assumptions.

We assume people or things are certain way, only to find out it’s the complete opposite case.

When it comes to assumptions, there are a few ways in which it can become useful.

The one we’re going to focus on is when others underestimate you.

Reflect with me for a second. How does it make you feel when you find out that others underestimate what you’re capable of?

At first, not that great if you’re li...

Unexpected Moments of Clarity

Usually I’m not one to be in front of the camera. At least not until one faithful day in October of 2017.

As an introvert, I find it more comfortable to reside behind the lens and do the necessary work from there. There’s less stress. Who doesn’t like less stress?

Nonetheless, here I am on a pier in New Jersey, somewhat freezing and a whole lot of nervous. In hindsight, I really wish I had pushed myself more to get a haircut but we’ll save the chat about self-care for another day.

What ended...
