My "Getting Lucky" by Carolyn Brown Review

This is the final installment of Ms. Brown's "Lucky Series" and I have to admit that this one had me laughing hysterically and just goes to show you that kids really do say the darndest things. Here's what it's about:Julie Donovan is making a new life for her and her five year old daughter Annie. But, just when she thinks that things are going great, she's visited with a blast from the past when a man enters her classroom with a daughter who is the spitting image of her own child.Griffin Luckadeau has no idea who Julie Donovan is but finds it an odd coincidence that their daughters could literally pass for twins. After a few awkward meetings and heated arguments between Griffin and Julie, it's revealed that the girls are definitely related…That's all I'm telling you:) If you want to know what happens next you'll have to read it. I have to admit, I hated to finish this book because I knew it was the end of a really wonderful series. The women in this series are strong willed, don't back down from anything and aren't afraid to throw a punch here and there. And the Luckadeau men are truly captivating and I'm sure if they really existed every cowboy loving woman would be moving to Texas/Louisiana to find them:)

Christmas – Day 3

Merry Christmas everyone! Well, Santa definitely stopped by our house last night and left a whole bunch of goodies for my son. I think he's set for quite some time:) While he plays with all of his new toys, I'm off to make Christmas dinner. My mom, grandmother, uncle and brother, will be joining us shortly so I better get a move on. But before I go, I just want to wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas and may your day be full of love, joy and laughter. Surround yourselves with the ones who mean the most to you in this world and cherish the time spent. Reminisce on Christmas past and create new memories to share down the road. Have a wonderful holiday!

Christmas – Day 2

Merry Christmas Eve everyone! We are off to my in-laws for Christmas dinner and gift exchange. I am so looking forward to Christmas dinner because we are having Paella this year for a change. If you've never had or heard of Paella, well let me fill you in. It's a Spanish rice dish that has a little bit of everything (chicken, seafood, veggies, etc). It is so good! And after dinner we'll open presents and enjoy watching my son play with all of his new toys and gadgets. Looking forward to this wonderful day:)

Christmas – Day 1

Today is the first of many gift exchanges. We are spending the day at my Dad's house and it should be pretty exciting. I can't wait for all of the kids to open up their presents so I can see the excitement on their faces:) I also can't wait to see the look on my Dad's face when he realizes all the toys we bought are annoyingly loud, lol.

My "One Lucky Cowboy" by Carolyn Brown Review

Okay, so this is book two in Ms. Brown's "Lucky Series". This one was my favorite of the three. I found myself laughing out loud during most parts and holding my breath with anticipation during others. Here we go:

Jane Day is on the run from a hired assassin and takes refuge on a ranch in Texas thanks to Nellie Luckadeau, who hires her on as temporary help. Nellie's nephew Slade on the other hand feels that his aunt is asking for trouble by bringing home some stranger that they know nothing about. As Slade and Jane attempt to live under the same roof, they prove it is a difficult task as they butt heads whenever they are around one another. But soon one thing leads to another and the two of them find themselves civil and maybe even liking each other. That is, until Slade learns that Jane is not who she says she is. Trouble enters with a capital "T" and now it's up to Slade to keep Jane safe from harm.

So what happens next you ask? Will Slade come riding in on his white horse and save the day? Will he and Jane live happily ever after? I dunno:) You'll have to read it and find out.

Message From Santa

My husband sent me one of these "Messages from Santa" videos and I swear I about died laughing. It's a customizable video with Santa talking to the screen (you) and after a little chit chat he decides to check his naughty or nice machine to see what you've been up to this year. The results can be hilarious! Mine was definitely:) And wouldn't you know I ended up on the naughty list, darn, lol. He sent me the link afterwards so I could make my own and let me tell you, they are addicting! I think I made about 10 of them, sending them to friends and family, before I made myself stop lol. Here's the link for anyone who'd like to make their own (this is for children and adults).

Straight from the Readers Mouth

I can't tell you how happy it makes me when someone personally tells me that they enjoyed reading my novel. During Christmas dinner this past Saturday evening, my friend pulled me aside and told me she finished reading my novel and that she was up till three in the morning because she just couldn't put it down. I was thrilled to hear that and it definitely put a big smile on my face. And today at the cookie exchange, when I walked in the door another one of my friend's quoted something from my book and said she found that part so funny that she actually laughed out loud. I was shocked because I had no idea that she had even bought my book but I was super happy that she did and that she was obviously enjoying reading it. She also told me that she had just bought it the night before and was already halfway through it. I hope everyone else who has read or is currently reading it is enjoying it as much as these two gals. It definitely means a lot to me and its this kind of support that keeps me going:) Thanks so much everyone!

Christmas is how many days away?!?!

Wow, so I just looked at my calendar and Christmas is 9 days away! Good grief! Wasn't it just November? I am faced with yet again another weekend jam packed with activities, but I'm looking forward to them. Tomorrow will be a day for wrapping presents and in the evening we have the first of many Christmas dinner's to attend. I also have to bake another six dozen cookies for another cookie exchange that I will be attending on Sunday. Lots of stuff to do but looking forward to every minute of itJ
