I'd rather be underconfident in this aspect
There's an agent, Nathan Bransford, that I follow on twitter. He sometimes has some interesting industry blogs…well, probably often, but I only click over there every now and then. This time when a post came up about a lack of confidence and writing? That one had my name written all over it, so I clicked through.
Do You Lack Confidence in Your Writing? It Might Not Be a Bad Thing!
I've got to say, to some extent, I agree. It's an interesting post, and some of the comments are...

No Longer Mine…being Reissued
From Samhain. It's been revised. HEAVILY.
It's not longer, though…I did some pretty heavy rewriting in some areas, but it didn't add to the length. It's a cleaner read, though. And has a prettier cover. Much prettier.
No Longer Mine
It's due out in ebook in April, and yes, it will probably go into print at some point, but it won't be this year.

On proposals, synopsis…selling…with, without… O_O
A few years ago, I worked withsomebody who wanted me to put together a synopsis for a book I hadn't yet written.
I'll be honest, I think my mind almost shut down. I'd never attempted to write a synopsis before and nobody else I'd worked with had ever wanted them. I was still writing only for epubs at the time, and this was an epub. I sent her the best I could do-it was about 1.5 pages, but it was the best I could do. I'm not the sort of writer who does a synopsis, especially when the book ...

You never forget your first…
You never forget your first.
Romance, people. Romance…
Was skimming the blogs and saw this over at the Smart Bitches blog…
A while back you said you never forget your 1st romance novel.
And…viola…bingo. Inspiration! Blog post!
Do you remember your first romance?
I do.
I was probably 11. Way too young considering what I read… Rosemary Rogers, The Wanton. If I see my 11 yr old pick that up, I'm knocking her over the head with it. Yes, I am.
Then I moved on to Nora Roberts. Jayne Ann Krentz….I...

My 'cool' level rose five points… in the eyes of my nephew
We were talking books.
He, like his dad, likes science fiction. I asked if he had read the Stardoc books. (yes, I'm talking SL Viehl again)
He said he had-loved them.
I absently mentioned I knew her. (No, we haven't met in person, but still, email corresponsdence counts…and I email her. A lot…she's kind enough to email back.)
His eyes, I think they almost popped out of his skull. "NO WAY."
He starts doing this jittery thing like he's about to come out of his seat-we were heading out to...

Series I Love
A few days ago, somebody on twitter said this:
"I don't know whether to thank you or not
I just finished 1st 2 books in Stardoc series & I'm hooked! (*another* series!):)"
My response? *G* Something along the lines of heh, heh, heh. Yes, maniacal laughter. I'm determined to get as many people hooked on those books as I can. Then we got into the discussion of other series I love, other series I love to hook people on.
