Some pics from Thunder last night
I actually got some okay ones last night. They aren't as good as I'd like but they are better than normal, so I figured I'd share.

Halfway there
from dreamstime.com free images
I'm officially at my halfway point. I've lost 40 lbs. I want to lose another 40lbs, and then I'll decide if I'm done or not.
Sometime last year, in 2009, I was a size 24. I don't remember exactly when, or how I got up there…I was a 20, 22, for the longest time, and while I wasn't exactly pleased with that, I was okay with being about a size 20. Not so okay with a 22.
But I didn't want to be a 24.
Now I've never been inactive. For a little over a year, maybe...

Thunder…
It's that time of year again. Where this part of the country talks of horses, hats and fireworks.
Yes. It's Derby Time.
My favorite part of Derby?
Actually… the only thing I really like about Derby?
Thunder. Thunder over Louisville…. aka… (drumroll) The OPENING CEREMONY FOR THE KENTUCKY DERBY FESTIVAL. So I don't entirely see the point in why there's a huge two week thing for a horse race (I've lived around here all my life… I'm not into Derby). I like Thunder, though.
And that's where I'll b...

Sometimes I think about what I used to imagine life would be like when I got published. I thought…I'll write. *G* That was the only thing I thought about. Didn't think much about other stuff.
I wasn't necessarily looking for riches… (which is good, because I'd still be looking).
I wasn't looking for instant fame (which is good, because I'd still be looking, and really, as much as I hate pictures, and as much I like my privacy, me and fame aren't meant to be...
No Longer Mine…Random Excerpt # 2
I'm going to be doing a contest for the release of this book…kind of a big one, especially for an ebook. Even if you've already bought it, you might wanna think about buying it again-buying it gets you multiple entries, and this is a nice prize… The contest will be open across the globe and it won't matter to me if you buy it through Samhain's store, Amazon, the Nook store, Sony…as long as it's a legit etailer and you follow the contest rules. And did I mention…it's a nice prize.

Courtesy….it does count, and other ramblings
Yesterday, the night before…on twitter, well. It was interesting.
It started when a guy's email to an agent went public. In short…the guy was a jerk. I'm not linking to it, but basically, the guy received a polite rejection and then responds with a note along the lines of… thanks, you moronic female. Go back to your second-rate hack writers. Apparently I'm too brilliant for you to understand.
Insulting in so many ways.
Struck me as chauvinistic.Insulted every one of the agent's writersUm…...April 13, 2010
Booksigning mishaps
Booksigning mishaps. They happen.
Once I signed the wrong name. Yep.
On rare ocassion, I've spelled the reader's name wrong, which is why I try to have people spell their name out for me.
But at last year, I had the signing mishap to end ALL signing mishaps. This should win me a prize, I swear.
It was at the Lori Foster/Dianne Castell's Reader & Writer Get Together-this is a lot of fun…if you've never been, it's well worth it. There's a lot of 'free time'…just walking around, hanging out...

Responsibility as a writer, responsibilties as a woman, responsibilities as a person
So during a twitter discussion last night, inspired by discussions taking place in blogland-I'm mostly watching the talk at karen's, it was suggested to me that I have a responsibility as a writer.
Yeah. Sure. I have a responsibility as a writer to tell the best story I can. To meet my contracts. To get my edits done. To fulfill any commitments I've made…contests, etc. We could take it a little deeper and I do have a responsibility, IMO, to not use my books in a way that could foster...

Sundays…

LOLCats and Funny Pictures
When we get home from church on Sundays, this is what I want to do. Ideally, that would be my perfect Sunday. Church. Home. Bed. The kids, the guy…they can feed themselves…right? O_o
