Saturday Snippets..Crazed Hearts

I know I've seen writer blogs for 'Saturday Snippets' before, although for the life of me, I can't figure out where, and I'm doing this on the fly, in the middle of getting kids ready to rush them out the door.  If I remember, I'll try to do a search and figure out where/who/more on the snippet thing.

Anyway…Saturday Snippets. I'm going to do these some-this is from Crazed Hearts, which will be my July ebook release from Samhain...it's a Grimm, and it's Ren's story.

Has anybody figured out who ...

The Friday 56-Shadow Blade by Seressa Glass

My TBR pile is a nightmare.  Am trying to organize.  Shadow Blade is in it and as I'm trying to organize, it was the closest.

Shadow Blade

A large population lived in between, intermingling with the Children of Man and spawning hybrid offspring that had given rise to enduring tales of vampires, werewolf, merpeople, and others.

The Friday 56 idea came from… This is What I Have to Say

The Rules:

Grab the book nearest you. Right now.Turn to page 56.Find the fifth sentence.Post that sentence (plus...

Brenda Novak's Diabetes Auction

I was running behind/late/lost in my own little world/dealing with some crap/busier than usual and totally forgot about the auction and didn't think to donate something, but the auction is going on now.

It's for an awesome cause and as always, you can find some amazing stuf.

Go check it out!!!

Sex…no sex…

Also titled…. *Wince…Please don't*

Over at Ilona Andrews' blog, she had a post up on Sunday:

K writes:

I've been querying for 14 months now … I think I should add more sex so it [manuscript:] sells.

Short answer:  Oy.

There really is no doubt that sex can sell.  Otherwise, we wouldn't have that little phrase… "Sex sells."

But using sex just to make a project more likely to sell?  I think this is actually a common assumption.  Just going by some comments I see on twitter, message boards, etc.  I...

No Longer Mine… contest… AND A BONUS

This is mostly a repost from the initial contest post found here.  However, it's going so well and I'm thrilled with it, so I'm sweetening the pot and adding in 2 $25 dollar GCs to the Sony Store for the lucky winner.  So you'll have a Sony Reader, and book money.  Time's running out though-you have to buy it before next Tuesday…5/12.

No Longer Mine is now available… (EBOOK only right now… will eventually be in print)

Gee, I think I've mentioned a contest. Read on. :o )

Digital publishing….myths…thoughts…

So.

Help me out.  I'm doing a project and I need to know what are some of the current myths, thoughts, beliefs, etc… about digital/epublishing.  Good. Bad. Doesn't matter.

In your opinion, is it a waste a time?  A springboard? Just a trend?

Gimme whatcha got, pretty please…. and feel free to spread the word and direct people back here.  I won't be going into detail/answering/responding Qs here at this time, but as I said, this IS for a project sooo….I need input.

New project…. with Sylvia Day & Shayla Black

See More funny pictures|Ecstasy

So.

I have news.

A while back, Sylvia Day and Shayla Black asked if I'd be interested in doing a project with them-an anthology, to be exact.  A planned anthology where we put an idea together and then pitch it.  Well, I haven't done one of these before, but hey, they sounded like they knew what they were talking about-that makes it easy for me.  So why not?

We put together an idea… (actually, they did most of the work) and off to our agents it goes.

And then we...

RT 2010…how about a Contest…#RT10

Reminder: have you entered the contest for No Longer Mine?

So Romantic Times 2010 is done for me. The big booksigning on Saturday is always chaotic.  I had about 18-20 books, CHAINS, BROKEN & HUNTER'S NEED and sold all but five in the first hour.  By 1:30, I had sold everything and just lingered until 2pm.

The volunteers at Romantic Times do an amazing job, and JoCarol does beyond amazing.  I don't know how in the world anybody organizes something like that.  RT runs from Tuesday until Sunday a...

Romantic Times 2010

Today is the booksigning and after that, I'm probably heading home.  Just like always (for me), something set my allergies off and now my asthma is raging, and I miss my kids, my guy, my bed…and quiet. LOL.

RT is fun, but it's one big party and it's insane.

I had a lot of fun, though, and got to talk with friends I don't see often, got to meet some people I had wanted to meet, like Jeaniene Frost and Carolyn Crane.  I hit two of the big parties-the vampire ball, I ended up skipping-Friday I...
