Demon's MarkbyT.F. Walsh @TFWalshAward-WinningandInt'l Bestselling Author

Demon hunter, Levi Walker eliminates the bastards using divine weapons. One monster at a time until he tracks down the demonic filth that killed his best friend. So when he finally corners the beast, it’s payback time. But with the newest hunting recruit making an appearance and catching him off guard—the same minx who broke his heart months earlier—the fight takes a deadly twist. The demon targets Cary, but in Levi’s attempt to save her, they both get marked for death.Cary Stone’s secret will get her thrown into Hell faster than a demon jacked up on virgin blood. Born a half-demon, she’s always followed her father’s instruction—never get close to anyone, never stay too long in one place, and always work alone. Except this past year, she’s managed to break every single rule by getting a job hunting demons, falling insanely for Levi, and getting them both on the hit list by the biggest mercenary in Hell. But revealing her secret to Levi comes with the complication of him attempting to exorcise her. Whichever way she turns, death awaits. All she really wants is a normal life and a chance with Levi, but looks like that’s a fantasy she’ll never have.
Warning: Super-sexy hunters, dominance & submissive themes, and a terrifying hellhound named, Blinkie.

Steam poured out from the open shower door like smoke from the fiery gates of Hell. She flapped her shirt with her free hand but it did nothing to cool her down.
She stuck her hand with the tweezers through the open glass door, mist everywhere. “If you got out of the shower, put some pants on, and sat on the couch, I could easily remove those splinters.”
Warm, wet fingers banded around her wrist. Her head jerked toward him, her eyes flying open.
Levi’s long hair was slicked off his face. His eyes were the warm shade of brandy and seemed to strip her bare of her defenses. “The steam will help get them out.”
The softness in his gaze weakened her resolve. Water sluiced down his face, over his lips, dripping from his chin onto a sculptured chest that called to her. An inferno swarmed her insides, and her gaze shot upward toward his face.
Her attention dipped to the ink on his chest, just above his heart, reminding her of a shield. The protective rune reduced the chance of demons possessing him. It didn’t eliminate the possibility. Nothing did. But the rune was like the rhythm method—it wouldn’t save him but it might help his chances—even if just a bit.
The rounded Rune encased a flame with neither a beginning nor end.
“It’s below my right shoulder.” His mouth curled upward with a wicked expression. She shut her mouth tight or she’d be asking him to help her undress. “The splinters,” he prompted.
Words tumbled free without her consent. “Sure… Umm… I mean, let’s do it.”
He released her hand and turned away from her, but his wet hair covered the flesh skin below his shoulders.
“You always had long hair?” She pushed the wet strands aside and spotted two large splinters. Yep, he was telling the truth.
“My dad rarely got his hair cut, and I guess I got picked up his habit.”
“Hmh.” Her gaze fell to his butt. Two dimples sat above his firm ass and while her first reaction would have her reach out, grope him, and lick the beads of water off his skin, she strangled the tweezers in her hand to keep from reaching for them. Why was she torturing herself?
Studying the corded muscles in his back, she zeroed in on the two shards of wood again. She placed a hand flat between his shoulder blades, and scorching heat radiated from him.
Focus. Despite her shaky hand, she plucked them out. Blood bubbled from the wounds.
“You’re done.” She only made it one quick step away from the shower before Levi had turned around.
“Thanks.”
Silence floated between them with nothing but the sound of running water. He wrapped an arm around her waist, drawing her against his wet body. The moisture soaked through her clothes. Her mind emptied as his hardness pressed against her, and her libido did somersaults. He withdrew the tweezers from her clutched hand and set them down somewhere behind her.
“I wish you’d returned my calls,” he said.
Her response jammed somewhere between her toes and ears, along with any rational thinking. Unless of course, someone considered ripping their clothes off to jump a naked hunk reasonable behavior. Cary had lost focus on anything but Levi’s body mashed against hers. His warm breath on her face. The tightness of his grip around her hips. She felt tiny in his arms. Nothing mattered right then. Not the demons, not her secret, not even making sense of why Levi hugged her when she’d made it clear a relationships between them couldn’t work.
Beneath his gaze, she melted. He offered her a temporary fairytale escape. With his hand threading through her hair, drawing her closer, every nerve in her body stood on end. She raised herself on tippy toes and tilted her head back to reach his mouth. He leaned forward, his soft lips grazing hers. Fire shot through her body.
“I saw you come in the bathroom before, spying on me.”
“What!?”

Featured Book: Demon's Mark
It’s wonderful to be here, and I’m super excited to chat with you. Can’t wait to see what questions you’ve got lined up for me. Fire away.
How long have you been a writer, Tania, and how did you come to writing? While I’ve only been writing for about five years, I like to think that a writer has always been living inside my head. I grew up listening to bedtime Romanian stories that could only be compared to the Brothers Grimm tales, and ever since then folklore and mythology has fascinated me. I remember as a child, I enjoyed scribbling stories on pieces of papers and on the inside of book covers. I even signed the books as if they were my own. Let’s just say, my sister wasn’t impressed when she found her books written on. It was years later when I fell ill with a horrible flu that I pulled out my laptop out and decided to type up some of my ideas. And ever since, I haven’t been able to stopJ
How did you come up with this storyline? Well, funny story. I was going through this phase of watching Supernatural and Dog the Bounty Hunter shows… addicted is a better way to describe it, anyway, after getting my fix, a story came together in my mind. A half-demon hiding in plain sight in the human world and working alongside the country’s best demon hunter. What could possibly go wrong… right?
On another note, I went through another phase of watching those b-grade snake movies too – Anaconda vs Python. But no story has spawned from them yet!!
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing? I love hearing from readers what they thought of my stories, if they’ve been touched by a scene, did they connect to a character. The aspect of writing I adore is creating fictional worlds, and then getting lost in them. The hard part is stepping back from my creative side and editing. Needs to be done because I’m a big believer that great stories are rewritten during edits, but that ride sure is a bumpy one.
What inspires you to write? The passion of delving into my imagination and letting anything happen.
How did you conduct your research for Demon’s Mark Lots and lots of reading on the topics I’m writing. Much of this was done online. So in Demon’s Mark, I did extensive research on how priests exorcise possessions, understanding the hierarchy of demons, what exactly are hellhounds and their abilities (You’ve want to meet Blinkie in Demon’s Mark!!). I also watched lots of YouTube videos to really see the streets of Detroit and Ann Arbor as I’ve never been there.
What are 3 of your favorite quotes from Demon’s Mark?Oh this is so hard…
Cary shifted in her seat, her insides buzzing. “Thanks, but I only spank guys I’ll respect in the morning.” --- Levi stepped closer, his eyes hooded. “You might have just ruined me for any other girl.”--- What did hellhounds snack on anyway—steaks, rabbits, arms? But the real question was who had sent it?
More Favorites from Demon’s Mark: “Because your Cary is a fantasy. She’s not me. And you know nothing about the real me! Did you know that I hate cherries. I always sleep with socks, even in summer. And I sponsor seven kids in Bolivia.” A shiver rolled down her back, and she rubbed the goose bumps from her arms. She locked her gaze with him and braced herself for his smart-ass response.
What would your friends say is your best quality? Wild imagination + positiveness
Are reader reviews important to you? Absolutely… I love hearing from readers and seeing how my stories made them feel. How they interpreted the story and characters.
What do you do when you don’t write? I actually work as a social media manager for a kitchen appliance company in Sydney, AustraliaJ
Tell us about your other books? My Wulfkin Legacy series follows a band of wolf shifters from Transylvania and their struggle to find their mates amid secrets, danger and a power-hungry alpha who doesn’t care who he crushes to get his way. The first story in the series, CLOAKED, begins with Daciana who leaves the pack to live in the city and falls for a forbidden human detective. The latest book in the series (#5) comes out December 2016 – Cloaked in Christmas.
And for readers who adore dragon-shifters, then my story, FALLEN ASHES has just come out. It follows the story of Fallen, the last dragon-shifter trying to escape capture by the Queen. But getting herself magically bound to the Queen’s Guardian wasn’t on her to-do-list. Neither was falling for him. But he has a hit list with Fallen’s name on it. And if she dies, so does he. Along with the rest of the world.
If you could share one thing about yourself that you would like readers to know what would it be? I was born in Transylvania, and a lot of my stories are based in Romania which is a country seeped in legends. I love introducing readers to new locations and making them feel like they are discovering new worlds.
It’s been a blast and if anyone has any questions, be it about my stories, giant reptiles, or Transylvania, please feel free to reach out to me at www.tfwalsh.com

SoullessbyMonica Corwin@Monica_CorwinAward-WinningandInt'l Bestselling Author

In the late 21st century, scientists created a serum that gave every person nine lives, also known as souls. Flush with expendable life, Earth collapsed into war and anarchy, leaving the Catholic Church to step in and take control. In a world where the stealing of souls is big business, it takes people like Constance Grace, detective in the Soul Theft Division, to hunt the criminals down and strip them of their remaining souls.
When social-climbing con man, Noah Hannock, plunks himself on the church's radar, he becomes Constance's problem. With a brand new partner, Mikon Cross and seven of her nine given souls remaining, Connie has to enter high society under a too-familiar alias to tempt Noah into her web.
While the chemistry between Connie and Mikon is scorching hot, the reality is they don't trust each other. Each with their own secrets to protect, the hunt for Noah Hannock threatens them both. The only way they can survive is if they learn to lay themselves, heart and souls, on the line for each other.

He watched as she pulled her unruly mane up into a messy bun on top of her head. Every time he saw her do it, he couldn’t help but think it was a move specifically designed by women to turn men on. The pale skin of her delicate neck was now on full display, as were her toned shoulders and biceps. Usually he liked his women soft, and while Connie did have softness here and there, mostly she was made up of backbone, hard-toned muscles, and coffee.“Stop being a creeper,” she said, breaking the spell. He looked up. She was giving him a pointed look with an eyebrow arched. Somehow he had forgotten himself and sat staring at her. Will this night never end?“Sorry, I was zoning out,” he said.“Yeah, on my tits.”“Really, I wasn’t staring at them. I was just thinking.”“Uh-huh.”There was no talking to her. He climbed up and went to his own bed. She was right, but he wasn’t going to admit it. He’d have to hear about it for the next year otherwise. “How are you feeling?” he asked after a few moments of silence.“Still a little messed up from the drug, but, not terrible,” she said.“That’s good.” He could tell she wasn’t saying it all though. She sat on top of her comforter, shoulders slumped, as she rocked ever so slightly back and forth. There was no way he could let her stay like that all night. If she was to be tortured then he could at least bear some of the burden. He got up and walked over to her, moved behind her on the bed, and circled his arms around her upper body. She didn’t move, didn’t even breath, for a few seconds. It was a huge relief when she sagged into him, allowing him to hug her more comfortably. The intensity with which his heart leapt and battered against his ribcage was astounding. If heaven and hell could merge it would live in such a moment. Her scent engulfed him, consumed him, and made him think of all the things he knew he shouldn’t. It was a shock when he realized she was guarding her thoughts to him. Not effectively, but she was making an attempt to ease his discomfort.“Here,” he said, shifting his legs open so she could lean back into him and stretch out as well.Such an unlikely pair they made. Only having met a month ago and now here they were in a gilded hotel room, holding each other gently. He would never have imagined a moment like this between them when they first met. Father Reynolds wouldn’t have either.Constance turned to face him, and he watched helplessly as she slipped her tongue out and wet her lips.“I’m going to kiss you, Mikon, unless you stop me,” she whispered, only inches away from his mouth.

Monica Corwin
Featured Book: Soulless
Hello everyone, I’m so thrilled to be here. I can’t wait to tell you about Soulless, which was previously published as Soulless. If I get too excited and ramble please feel free to direct me back to the questions.
Hey, Monica! How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing? I started writing when I was a little girl but didn’t start actively writing looking to publish until my early 20’s. Almost six years now.
How did you come up with this storyline? Well, like a lot of my stories I get the main idea from a dream. But, it was after I watched a movie about time...and how people’s timers were on their arms. That gave me the idea for the souls to add into the world I had already built around the dream.
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing? The best is interacting with readers. I love hearing about books and how much they loved my work. Most of the time I assume I write books and no one ever reads them. It’s nice when someone proves me wrong. The worst aspect is marketing. It’s not something I have gotten figured out. It doesn’t help that I’m awkward as hell though.
What inspires you to write? Lots of things can inspire me to write. Most of the time is a book, or movie, or watching a show about a character who has reaching their goals...it makes me want to push toward my own.
How did you conduct your research for Soulless? I mostly had to do a lot of research on the Catholic Church which was both frightening and fascinating.
What are 3 of your favorite quotes from Soulless? ~ “He watched as she pulled her unruly mane up into a messy bun on top of her head. Every time he saw her do it, he couldn’t help but think it was a move specifically designed by women to turn men on.”~ “I’m going to pout now because I wasted a perfectly beautiful dress on such a craptastic night…”~ “If heaven and hell could merge it would live in such a moment."
What would your friends say is your best quality? Oh man...probably my loyalty. I am devoted to those I care about and would give them anything in my power, including a kidney, to help them.
Are reader reviews important to you? Um...I will say they aren’t important to ME but they are important. I think when a book is done it is no longer the writer’s...it belongs to the reader, as do reviews. Those reviews aren’t for me, or about me, they are for the reader.
What do you do when you don’t write? Uh read, a lot. I also fix typewriters. I know, I’m a dork.Tell us about your other books? I write mainly paranormal romance with strong heroines and unique worlds. My other series, Revelations, centers around female four horseman of the apocalypse.
If you could share one thing about yourself that you would like readers to know what would it be? I adore you. Even if you hate my work I thank you for giving that time to read it. Thank you for giving it, and me, a chance.
Thank you so much for having me and listening to me ramble. XOXO Monica

Midnight MossbyCarissa Ann Lynch @carissaannlynchAward-WinningandInt'l Bestselling Author

This is the day Dorothea Landry dreamed of...
Fresh out of high school and stalling on college, all she wants is a little freedom.
So when she’s offered the opportunity to move into her grandmother’s old house in Black Cat Springs, she simply can’t refuse the deal. Cheap rent and distance from her parents is exactly what she’s always wanted…and a handsome new neighbor seals the deal.
But as soon as she moves to Black Cat Springs, she’s immediately drawn to a mysterious fence in the woods, and despite her better judgement and the dark legends surrounding it, she sneaks inside, learning that some things from her past are better left contained...
A twisted town with a mind boggling past is about to become Dorothea’s future. And whatever she does, one thing is certain—she cannot trust her instincts.

My dream from last night floated through my mind, the details becoming foggier…At the bottom of the hill, I was surprised to see someone in the cemetery. Until now, I hadn’t paid much attention to the old graves, assuming most of its residents had died hundreds of years ago, based on how crumbled and weathered the tombstones were. The mysterious woman was kneeling on the soft dying grass, facing one of the small headstones. Her back to me, she looked stoic, almost like a part of the graveyard itself.I slowed my pace, determined not to interrupt her as I passed. Off to the right, I spotted the same old farm road from the other day, and I picked up speed, enjoying the hot wet vibrations of the wind passing by. As I turned sharply, I took one last look back toward the cemetery. Expecting to see the stone-like woman, I was surprised to see her gone already. She must live close by, I wondered, focusing back ahead. Like I did a couple of days ago, I veered off the beaten path and slipped through the gap in the trees that led to the fence line. My eyes traveled the length of its wires as I jogged in place, noting that the fence was twisted and bent in spots. Instead of running in the direction of town like I did the other day, I took a new route, going the opposite direction. I’ll just follow the fence until it ends so I can see where it goes, I decided resolutely. It was silly and childish, but I suddenly felt this insatiable need to satisfy the curiosity burning inside me…and as I ran, I could feel the same high from last night returning. The touch and smell of Adam still clung to my skin…Moving along the fence line, I tried to catch a glimpse of something behind the foliage, or the lake I thought I’d seen the other day, but after jogging nearly a mile, it was more of the same. I was in the middle of nowhere now. Peering up through the clearing, I could see a dirt road with no houses on it.Suddenly anxious, I stopped and listened. Would I hear that dog beyond the fence again? I’d almost forgotten about the barking…But I couldn’t hear anything besides the rustling of wind in the trees and the slight clinking sounds of the fence rattling.A shockingly cold gust of wind blew right through my sweat-soaked hair, causing me to shiver. What had started out as a bright sunny day, was suddenly getting colder…and darker. The fence seemed to stretch for miles, and I was suddenly hit with a strange sense akin to walking in the desert. Is that the end of the fence line I see? Or is this some sort of twisted mirage? But as I moved against the dank and chilly air, I saw what did in fact look like the end of the fence line. The fence itself curled around, moving in another direction. One spot in the fence looked open. It was shaking in the wind, the culprit of the clinking sounds I’d heard only moments earlier…All of a sudden, I was running, eager to see. As I reached the corner where the fence turned, I realized it was loose. There was a tiny gap at the end, a jagged opening that looked to have been created by someone. A hole in the elusive fence. How can I resist going through it?The adult in me was sounding alarm bells, but the kid in me couldn’t resist…The gap in the fence was more like a tear, and before I could change my mind, I did a quick look around to make sure I was alone, and then I tried to squeeze through the gap. The metal wires were jagged in spots, and even sucking in my small belly, I barely made it through. The wires tore at my arms and torso, and once through, I stopped to observe my wounds, catching my breath. They were superficial, but bleeding. Thoughts of tetanus drifted through my mind, but I quickly tried to dispel them, using my shirt itself to wipe blood away from the tiny scratches. On this side of the fence there was thick vegetation. Impulsively, I pushed through it, trying to stay as quiet as possible. I don’t see any ‘No Trespassing’ signs, but the fence made it very clear…I’m not supposed to be back here. Sharp pointy sticks and roots clustered the dry earthy ground, so I took my time, pushing through the trees and prickly bushes. There was no sound; no birds, no nothing, as I entered the dense forest. Even the fence had stopped rattling behind me.Hesitantly, I looked back in the direction of the fence, but couldn’t see it now through the murky wall of trees behind me I’d just passed through.Darting forward through trees and overturned logs, I prayedthat I wouldn’t get lost. I felt compelled to keep going, to see what lie ahead that was so important it had to be fenced in and kept secret like Fort Knox…My heart nearly burst with relief as I saw the trees widening. I was approaching something…but what that something was, I couldn’t be certain. But that’s when I heard it—soft babbling sounds of a creek or water source. Was this the water I spotted through the trees the other day? Off to my right, the sound of water quickened, and I followed it like a beacon. A few yards later, I nearly stepped right up to the edge of the lake as it seemed to appear out of nowhere. Abruptly remembering my dream from last night, I recognized the same bright white blue water. Mist hovered like a blanket above it. Standing at the water’s edge, I could see clear across to the other side of the lake. There were triangular shaped hills in the distance and a thick white fog hovering around them. I followed along the edge, my eyes immediately drawn to smooth white marble and stone, a building or monument of some sort standing in the distance. For a brief moment, I considered turning back…but I’d come this far. I had to see what else there was back here…Nervously, I moved toward the stone building, and as I grew closer, I realized it had crumbling steps leading up to a flat empty square of space.Stealing up nearly three dozen stone steps, I went to the center of it, turning around in circles on the flat stone surface. There were no picnic tables or statues, just an open gazebo-like platform.I didn’t shout, but I know if I did, my voice would have echoed for miles…“Neat,” I said, feeling like I’d found my own treasure. I went back to the steps, plopping down on the top stair. From here, I could see the brilliant blue lake below, and although I was still not as high as the trees, I could see farther across the expanse of land on the other side of the lake.A massive gnarly twisted tree stood out from all the rest. Even from this far away, I could see that it dwarfed every other tree and plant around it. It looked wicked cool, with massive long branches pointing in every direction. Nobody lives here. There are no houses. But someone must own this property. I wonder why they let it go…“Miss?” The voice out here was so abrupt and shocking, that I screamed and jumped up, nearly tumbling down the high stony stairway. I looked behind me toward the sound of the voice, surprised to see a boy standing on the flat square surface above. His head tilted to the side, taking in all of my features, as though he was trying to figure me out. “I-I’m sorry,” I stammered. “I didn’t know anyone was back h-here. You frightened me.”“I didn’t know you were here either,” he said, his voice as a low as a whisper. His skin was white as milk, his hair and eyes nearly matching the shocking bright blue of the lake. If it wasn’t for the hollowed out cheeks and deep purplish marks beneath his eyes, he would have looked exquisite. “I’m leaving. I just…needed to see what was back here.”I stumbled a few steps forward, looking back at the boy.“And now that you have, what do you think? Is it all that you expected?” His voice was so strange, as was his question, and I found myself getting scared. I was suddenly aware of how alone I was.He walked toward me, his feet silent. I realized he wasn’t wearing any shoes. His clothes were odd as well, faded dark cloth pants and a matching black shirt that looked homemade. “Again, I’m sorry,” I muttered, jogging back down the steps, eager to leave.“Wait,” said the man, who really was just a boy, my age or slightly younger. When I glanced back, his expression was sad now, as though I’d disappointed him.“You don’t remember me, do you?” Even though he was standing no more than ten feet away, his words vibrated against my skin. The question reminded me of Adam’s question the other day, and I felt my insides constrict.“No. We’ve never met, I’m sure of that.” I’d never been so sure of anything…“But that isn’t so.” He was smiling now, a secret curling up the edges of his lips, his words melodic. Still moving down the steps, I was eager to get away from this stranger. A stranger who claims to know you, I reminded myself. “N-no, I just moved here…I don’t know you…”He was standing at the very top of the stone platform, his bare feet lined up with the edge. From here, he looked eight feet tall…and intimidating.“I know you, Dorothea Landry. I always have.” And with that, I was running, suddenly scared of the boy. I raced down the steps and back along the water’s edge, careful not to slip in, and when I found a decent-sized gap in the trees, I darted through. How did he know my name? That question pierced through my mind over and over as I ran. Fearful I wouldn’t find my way back to the fence, you can imagine my relief a few moments later, when I saw the glint of metal up ahead. “Oh, thank God,” I cried, pressing my face and hands to the twisted metal. Keeping my hand on the fence, I followed it east, until I found the same jagged hole I came in through. I wiggled through hole, faster this time, and screeched as the metal tore straight through my shirt, slicing a deep cut in my belly.
But as soon as I was out, I kept running, looking back over my shoulder a few times for the boy. But he wasn’t there, and for that, I was grateful…

Carissa Ann Lynch
Featured Book: Midnight Moss
Hi, guys! I’m Carissa Ann Lynch, author of the Flocksdale Files trilogy, Horror High series, 13: An Anthology of Horror and Dark Fiction, Grayson’s Ridge, and This Is Not About Love. I like to write what I like to read—which is a little bit of everything!
How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing? I’ve always been obsessed with books, but I didn’t write my first complete novel until about five years ago. I couldn’t find a book to read, so I got this crazy idea—why not try to write my own story? It was harder than I thought, but I fell in love with the idea of being able to control the outcome of a story. It felt like reading, only I got to decide what happened next. I never expected to get a publishing contract, but once I did, there was no going back. I was hooked!
How did you come up with this storyline for Midnight Moss? This story combines several ideas that have been rolling around in my head for a while. As a child, there was this section of our neighborhood that was mysteriously fenced off, so that’s where the “mysterious fence” comes into play. I also love the idea of old houses and magic keys, so I was able to use that in the story as well. I usually write horror and dark fiction, but I have a serious love for fantasy and paranormal stories, so this book was so much fun to write.
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing? The best thing about writing is it’s like a drug for me. When I do it, I feel better. And as soon as I’m finished with one book, I’m ready to go looking for my next story idea, or “fix”. I can see that as being a good and bad thing. I get obsessed with a story while I’m writing, and I work on it compulsively. So, it can be a pretty exhausting process for me. What inspires you to write? Everything! Most writers will tell you that everything we see/hear/feel gets stored away in our memory banks to use later for our books. I like to write about serious social issues, but I also enjoy the escape of a magical story and light fun.
What would your friends say is your best quality? I commit to things and do them all the way. I’m also loyal and I have a good memory, so I usually remember birthdays and old stories LOL.
Are reader reviews important to you? I love when someone tells me that one of my books affected them, or made their day a little brighter. But I try not to get upset over bad reviews, and I don’t change my stories based on what readers want. I just write what I want to write, and hope that people will like it. But if not, that’s their choice. As a book lover myself, I know that some books everyone claims to love aren’t my favorite. I know I can’t be everyone’s favorite all of the time, and I’m okay with that.
What do you do when you don’t write? I read A LOT. I prefer paperbacks and I always—ALWAYS—have a book with me everywhere I go. I can’t remember the last time I didn’t fall asleep with a book on my chest.Tell us about your other books? The Flocksdale Files is a dark trilogy about a twisted town filled with the worst kind of monsters—the humankind. The Horror High series is a three-book series about a creepy school nicknamed “Horror High” where the cheerleaders are constantly being taunted by an unknown “sociopath.” My other books are women’s fiction, mystery, and paranormal.
If you could share one thing about yourself that you would like readers to know what would it be? I would just tell them thank you. The fact that they took the time to read my book makes my heart soar, and means more to me than I could put into words.
That’s it for me, guys! I sincerely hope that you enjoy Midnight Moss as much as I enjoyed writing it!

You’ll never look at mermaids the same way again.
Mermaids don't fall in love with humans. For centuries it has been so...
But Sirena is different. She lost her first love to sharks and a storm, cursing the islands that stole him from her.
Times have changed and she must swim ashore once more, to the islands she once cursed. Gone are the boats powered by sail and steam - jet boats with GPS are now the order of the day.
Enter Joe, the deckhand on the Dolphin. A handy man to have around when the lights go out. He'll fix your generator and have the lights back on in no time, no worries. But can he seduce a siren?
Or will she swim away before he can uncover her secret?
A book about lobsters, beer and boobs, on some cursed islands off the coast of Western Australia. At least, that's how Joe tells it.
For Sirena, it's a very different story.

Demelza Carlton
Featured Book: Ocean's Gift
Hiya, and thanks for having me. I'm a little nervous, but I shall do my best not to stammer too much.
Welcome, Demelza! It always amazes me when writers say that; they have such a command of the English language and are such magic wordsmiths! How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing? I've been writing for over 20 years, but I've only been published for four of them. Ah…come to writing or come to writing something I intended to publish? Because the first book I wrote was actually the third book I published, and there's a reason for that. Nightmares of Caitlin Lockyer…no, the whole Nightmares Trilogy, is very dark . Psychological thriller type dark. It was based on a series of recurring nightmares I had during the trial of two notorious serial killers in my home town. While I won't go into the gory details, they kidnapped and tortured women before they killed them and disposed of the bodies. The only reason they were caught is because when they were about to kill one of the girls, she managed to escape and get help. That's where the similarity ends, though, because my serial killers are subject to a much darker kind of justice than the Australian legal system. I thought the whole thing – which was just the one book then, not a trilogy at all – was too dark to publish or even show anyone, but I was talking to some other authors on the site Wattpad, who expressed a desire to read some of it. They'd tell me if it was too dark, they said. So…I posted the first few chapters. And within a matter of days, those chapters had over ten thousand reads. So I posted a few more…and a few more…until in the end I posted the whole book on Wattpad, and the website staff offered to feature it to their (then) ten million readers. I think it had more than two and a half million reads or something – a very popular book. So, I went from believing it was too dark to release, to publishing the first book…and two more in the trilogy as it stands now. But if you're asking about why I published my first book…that's Ocean's Gift, a light comedy urban fantasy.
How did you come up with this storyline? Ah….that's kind of a funny story, really. I did my Masters research on shipwrecks at several remote islands off the West Australian coast, and as I was writing up my dissertation, I came across one shipwreck that just didn't make sense. During a cyclone in the 1920s, a fishing boat broke free of its moorings with the two-man crew still aboard. One man managed to swim ashore, but the other couldn't swim, so he disappeared in the waves when the boat sank. Everyone thought he drowned, but his body wasn't found…until more than three weeks later, when it washed up miles from where the boat went down, in the complete opposite direction to the ocean currents. Stranger still, the man was recognizable – which meant his corpse hadn't been floating at sea for all those weeks – and he'd done some first aid to his broken leg. There was nowhere the man could have been all that time except in the ocean, because if he'd washed up on the island, someone would have seen him and helped him. So how could a man survive for three weeks at sea, do first aid on himself, and yet drown within sight of land?No matter how much research I did, I couldn't solve the mystery, so I wrote "mermaids did it" in my report and left it at that. When I did the final proofread of my report, I burst out laughing when I saw that bit, because it was still there. I quickly deleted it, submitted my dissertation, and decided to celebrate with a glass of wine. Wine in hand, I decided to search mermaid myths on the internet. Was it actually possible? I was amazed to find heaps of mermaid stories from all over the Indian Ocean, and of course I also dug out my copy of Hans Christian Anderson's tales to read the fairytale I remembered. Put the two together with my miracle man, and I had a story. What if the reason mermaids went ashore was a biological imperative – they needed human men in order to breed – but instead of saving the man like the prince in Anderson's tale, what if my Indian Ocean mermaid accidentally lost him to the waves? She'd be heartbroken, not wanting to return to the place she lost the man for a very long time. And a very long time later, she did come ashore again, at the same islands, investigating an environmental issue. Right at the same time as a brand new deckhand starts work on a lobster fishing vessel at the islands – a deckhand who's very interested in the woman who lives in the fishing shack next door to his. And he just happens to have the same first name as the man she lost to the waves…
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing? The best part is getting lost in the story. I love the research and working with new characters in amazing places and seeing just what they can come up with to make their story special. The worst bit…is when the characters are so real to me that they hijack my head, the story and anything else they can get their imaginary hands on. So when I was writing Joe Fisher, the deckhand who's in love with the woman he doesn't know is a mermaid, and I walked past a reflective window while I was wearing a low-cut top, the thought that popped into my head was a very clear, "Ooh, boobs!" I'll never forget that moment, because it was like Joe Fisher was alive in my head…and perving on me.
What inspires you to write? Anything and everything, especially when my characters won't shut up. I swear they're either having a party in my head or starting World War III. At least, I think it's war. It might be a particularly violent orgy, which is entirely possible, as Lucifer features in several of my books and he gets quite vocal. I honestly don't know.
How did you conduct your research for Ocean's Gift? Ah…well, I used my Masters research, but part of that included site visits to the islands where the book is set. I've stayed in those shacks, walked the jetty, been out on the fishing boats…and visited Giuseppe's grave, and the site where his boat sank.
What are 3 of your favorite quotes from Ocean's Gift?Oh hell…that's a hard one. ~ When Joe Fisher has a few too many drinks and then tries to drive his dinghy back to the island in the dark:"I checked out of Hotel Consciousness. At least I got to dream of Vanessa naked."
~ Ah…this is an introduction to what Joe did for a living before he signed on as a deckhand, constructing remote mining camps with his offsider, Dean:"While we worked, we lived rough. We were the last people who actually camped there. We slept in swags and cooked outside, in the beam of the spotlights on the top of the car, which was a ute. There was one ute to two men, and I shared mine with Dean the plumber. Dean was full of shit, so it seemed natural that he was a plumber. Still, he was a better cook than me and a good mate, too."
~ Dean calls Joe while they're both between assignments, asking for his help on his uncle's fishing boat:“Look, he needs someone as soon as possible. How soon can you get up here?” Dean’s in Geraldton, then. “I could finish up at the end of the week and fly up on Sunday,” I told him reluctantly. “Cool, I’ll get my cousin to sort out your flights and he’ll meet you out on the islands. You can see how it goes the first week and if it works out you get paid to go fishing for the rest of your holidays. Seeya.” He hung up.Shit. What’ve I got myself into? Knowing Dean, this was going to be a disaster. Oh well, next trip I can always get back at him by putting huge spiders in his swag. He’s terrified of them, but he always forgets to zip his swag up properly. And he screams like a girl when he finds them, too. What’s the worst that can happen? A week on a free fishing charter and possibly getting paid to fish for weeks after it. And if it didn’t work out, the next three months of seeing Dean do a high-pitched jig every night when he found spiders in his swag. Hell, there wasn’t a downside that I could see.I started writing down a list of things to pack.
Are reader reviews important to you? Of course! Without reader reviews, nobody would ever know how good a book is. If you enjoyed it, leave a review!
What do you do when you don’t write? Honestly? Probably researching my next book. It might not have been my intention when I stepped onto the whale watching boat/jetty over a volcanic lake/the walkway into a million-year-old cave or waded into the water with my dive gear, always with my camera in hand, but by the time I get home, I usually have a new story idea in my head – or something I'd like to include in an existing book. I should tell you about the snorkelling trip where I spent around an hour chasing this shark around so I could get a picture of it. I never did get a good one. I'll have to try again sometime.
Tell us about your other books? Are you sure? I have almost thirty of them now. Ocean's Gift has two other books in the series – Ocean's Infiltrator, and a prequel about Belinda called Water and Fire. I realised after I wrote these that there's ninety years missing in Vanessa's tale, so I started writing what I thought was a single book called Turbulence and Triumph. Ha. Now, that's the name of a series of seven books to date, all of which take place in the 1920s and 1930s, starting with Ocean's Justice. My Mel Goes to Hell series is about an angel sent in as a temp to the office from Hell. Quite literally, as the CEO is the devil himself and Mel's supposed to find out his plans while she's working there. But the devil falls for the angel – and falls hard – which makes her job a lot more challenging. My Nightmares Trilogy I've already mentioned, but an odd spinoff from that is my Romance Island Resort series. You see, the girl was in a band, and because of what happened to her, she managed to garner some media attention, and once the lead singer's interview went viral, the band just sort of took off. Five years later, that lead singer, Jay Felix, is one of the hottest rock stars in the world, with more money than he knows what to do with, and the band breaks up. He buys Romance Island Resort, a luxury celebrity resort off the West Australian coast, and proceeds to look for love…inspired by the resort's library of romance books. But what works for most romance heroes always seems to go wrong for him, even if he does get the girl in the end. Just not the way he intended. Yes, I have other projects in the works…but that's all I can talk about for now.
Thank you so much for joining us and sharing a little of yourself with our readers and fans. We'll be looking for you on the 'Bestseller Lists'!Thank you so much for having me – and letting me chew your ear off about my books.

Wilder: The Guardian SeriesbyGK De Rosa@vampgirl923Award-WinningandInt'l Bestselling Author

All that Celeste Wilder ever wanted was to find someone who would sweep her off her feet like she had seen in countless romantic movies. When she meets the gorgeous and mysterious Constantin brothers her senior year of high school, she gets much more than what she had bargained for. As they introduce her to an exciting supernatural world that she never imagined existed, she makes a startling discovery about her own family legacy and is forced to make a decision that will change her life forever.

Finally, she found the romance novel she wanted, the newest one from the series she had been obsessing over, and made her way to the checkout desk. She turned the corner and abruptly collided with someone. She dropped the book, which slapped against the marble floor with a disconcertingly loud thud, echoing through the cavernous room.
“Oh, I’m so sorry!” she blurted, without looking up as she bent down to pick it up. As she stood back up, her heart skipped a beat. Before her stood a towering, well-built young man with wavy, raven hair, chiseled jaw, and eyes as blue as the summer sky. Celeste felt her cheeks grow hot. Embarrassed, she flushed even redder.
“No problem. Sorry, I should have been watching where you were going, I guess,” the stranger said, eyes twinkling.
Looking into those deep blue eyes, Celeste was completely at a loss for words. She watched helplessly as he walked away, disappearing further into the library.

Featured Book: Wilder: The Guardian Series
Hi all! I have to start off by saying I’m so glad this isn’t an in-person interview or else you’d be seeing the huge bags under my eyes from all the sleepless nights I’ve been currently having. Nope it’s not from spending hours at the computer writing – I like to think of them as my new mom badges of courage J I thought writing was hard until I had a baby! So there’s a little bit about my personal life and now onto the fun bookish stuff.
How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing? Technically speaking I’m pretty new to writing as I just wrote my first novel, Wilder in 2015. But when I was younger I used to love my Literature and English classes and wrote many essays, short stories, poems, etc. not to mention I did a ton of reading. I guess I got back into writing when I moved to NYC and started a restaurant review blog – food is my other passion J It reminded me how much I loved writing and then when I moved back to Florida (my hometown), I felt the creative juices flowing and decided to write a novel. It was really on a whim, I just sat down at my laptop and started typing.
How did you come up with this storyline?I’ve always been a fan of YA novels so that was a given, and I’m a total romantic at heart so there had to be some cute love story. Then coupled with my fascination of all supernatural TV shows, the idea for Wilder was born. I grew up watching Buffy The Vampire Slayer (tv show, not movie), Angel, and Charmed then got into The Vampire Diaries and True Blood. I’m a huge TVD fan and love the Elena and Damon storyline which is where I got a lot of inspiration for Celeste and (*spoiler*). But I didn’t want Celeste to just be some powerless girl, I wanted her to be the kick-butt heroine. What are the best and the worst aspects of writing? The best is definitely the ability to get lost in your imagination. It’s such a cathartic experience to create characters and worlds that are instilled with bits and pieces of your own life. The worst is probably the editing! Going back over and over again until it’s perfect – which we all know it never is.
What inspires you to write? My over-active 15 year old imagination. It’s just so much fun for me and I absolutely love it!
How did you conduct your research for Wilder: The Guardian Series? Luckily I didn’t have to do much research for Wilder. That’s the beauty of fantasy, it doesn’t have to be based on anything real. I was quite familiar with the vampire folklore and I added a few twists here and there. The Guardian mythology was also something I created so again not much research involved. In subsequent books in the series my main characters travel to various European locations that I’ve visited so again it’s all from my personal experiences.
What are 3 of your favorite quotes from Wilder: The Guardian Series?Ooh that’s a tough one! The most popular quote according to my readers is: ~ “Roman inhaled deeply as she walked in, her scent intoxicating. He could hear her heart racing and the blood pumping through her veins.”And here are two of my favorites – of course they’re lovey dovey ones: ~ “You are the one that needs to be careful Roman. You are falling in love with her.” ~ “She smiled looking into his deep blue eyes feeling as though she were being swallowed up inside of them – wanting to be.”
More Favorites from Wilder: The Guardian Series:A favorite excerpt:Finally, she found the romance novel she wanted, the newest one from the series she had been obsessing over, and made her way to the checkout desk. She turned the corner and abruptly collided with someone. She dropped the book, which slapped against the marble floor with a disconcertingly loud thud, echoing through the cavernous room.“Oh, I’m so sorry!” she blurted, without looking up as she bent down to pick it up. What would your friends say is your best quality? Probably my perpetually happy personality. I’m generally smiling and an easy going person. I love to laugh and have fun. Why spend your life being so serious all the time?
Are reader reviews important to you? Absolutely! As an author it’s the only way to get feedback from your readers. Sometimes reviews can be harsh, but that’s how you become a better writer.
What do you do when you don’t write?I watch way too many TV shows! Well let me backtrack, I used to anyway. Now that I have a three month old, I spend every waking moment with him. I also have a German shepherd who was my first baby – our fur baby if you will and I love going on walks with him and my husband or sitting on the balcony in the sun.
Tell us about your other books?I finished the entire Guardian Series in July. There are 4 books in total – Wilder, Wilder Destiny, Wilder Revelation and Wilder Legacy plus a novella Finding Wilder. Writing the last book was bitter sweet, I didn’t want it to end. The characters became like family to me and not writing about them anymore made me sad. And so I’ve decided to start on a spin-off series in the next few months. I’m super excited!
If you could share one thing about yourself that you would like readers to know what would it be? This is just a little something fun – as I mentioned I’m a huge Vampire Diaries fan and I totally love Ian Somerhalder (my husband is totally not jealous), who plays Damon Salvatore. So my friend and I went to a TVD convention right before I published Wilder and I brought a copy to give to Ian as a gift since it was his character and show that inspired my book. He was such a sweetheart and was really appreciative when I gave it to him and he asked me to sign it for him. So my first signature as an author was to Ian Somerhalder! And we even took pictures with him and Wilder
Thank you for this great interview and a huge thank you to all of my Wilder fans out there. Writing Wilder was the most fun I’ve ever had and the fact that I am now able to make a career out of it is incredible. It’s proof that you can really love what you do. So everyone out there, follow your dreams and work hard and they’ll become a reality. And of course go buy the Dark Legends collection – there are so many amazing authors and stories that you won’t want to miss out on!

Two of ClubsbyJ.A. Armitage @armitageauthorAward-WinningandInt'l Bestselling Author

Week one - January 1st - January 7th
Rose (The Two of Clubs) is the youngest of all the Royals of Vanatus, and she has a lot to prove. Born a princess, but with the heart of a warrior, she struggles to keep her two lives separate. By day, a perfect princess, but in the dark of night, she slips out to practice being all she ever wanted to be, a warrior like her brothers. When a dragon kidnaps some children from the royal castle, she must act quickly, but the snap decision sets off a chain of events that lead to the first war in the history of Vanatus, spelling disaster for both her and her family.
Follow the lives and loves of the fifty-two members of The Houses of Club, Heart, Diamond and Spade in real time as they struggle to maintain peace in the world of Vanatus.
This is a New Adult fantasy series set over the course of one whole year. This particular book is the first in the series and is set over the first week from New Year's Day to 7th January from the eyes of Rose Club. Each book in the series will be shown through the eyes of a different character, all within the world of Vanatus. Each book can be read as a standalone book (no cliffhangers), but the overall arc of the war will play in the background throughout.

I looked down at Tarragon and his lady friend. The Hearts, Diamonds, and Spades were supposed to be kept to the nicer parts of the castle. No one was supposed to see the kitchens. Not that I suspected the sleeping Heart girl currently wrapped around my elder brother actually cared what the state of the kitchen was. Still, our father, the King, would be upset that someone from one of the other clans had seen that we weren’t the perfect royal family we proclaimed to be and that we did, in fact, have messy kitchens - very messy this morning. Who would get the blame for this? Not Tarragon, that’s for sure. Tarragon was only the Four of Clubs, but he was one of Father’s favourites. I, on the other hand, was the lowliest of all. As the Two of Clubs, I ranked only slightly higher than the mice that sometimes frequented the kitchen despite the hard work of Fluff, the palace cat. And it was I who would get the blame for this. I glanced at the Heart woman. Usually, you could tell a Heart from the clothes they wore, the most ridiculous ‘high fashion’ which usually consisted of a lot of lace, tulle, feathers and leather, but as I couldn’t see the rest of her, I guessed that she was completely naked under the heap of coats. She was unmistakably a Heart, though. Even with a lack of clothes, I could tell. Red hair fell in waves down the flawless porcelain skin on her naked back. She looked perfect and sensuous in every way, another rather annoying trait of The Hearts. They just didn’t have bad hair days! “Oy,” I whispered to my wayward brother. The drill-like snoring turned into a grunt so I stuck a toe in his side.“Wha...? Oh, it’s you!” He actually closed his eyes again, pretending to fall right back asleep. He was in for a shock if he thought I was going to leave him here. “Will you get her out of here, please? I have to clean the kitchen to get it ready for the cooks.” I might have been the lowest member of the family, but I’d developed into someone my mother described as ‘ a wilful child’ and my father called ‘a pain in the ass’. Tarragon knew he had no chance of being left alone with his new plaything.“What time is it?” He opened his eyes again. His chin was damp with dribble, and he had streamers still weaved through his hair like a multicoloured wig. I couldn’t resist giving him an eye roll. “It doesn’t matter what time it is. If father catches you with her, there will be hell to pay, and I don’t want to be involved. Why did you bring her down here anyway? She could be a spy.” Unlikely, as she’d actually been invited to the castle along with the rest of her family. And unless The Hearts had a secret desire to learn how much kitchen cleaner we used (not a lot it seemed), then the chances of her being sent down here to spy were slim. Still, Tarragon didn’t need to know that. “Why do you think I brought her down here? Can you not see her? She’s gorgeous.”I scowled. His complete disregard for the rules irritated me. It didn’t matter how beautiful the woman was, she was still a Heart and therefore completely untrustworthy. If her father caught them together, well, it didn’t bear thinking about. “She’s a Heart!” I stated the obvious, knowing that Tarragon was fully aware that she was a Heart, and that was more than likely the reason he’d bedded her in the first place.“Isn’t this whole party thing to get the clans together so we can cooperate and live in a peaceful land? This is why we all come together at this time of year.” He gave that leisurely grin that women of all races seemed to fall for. It wasn’t going to work on me, though. I was mad!“Yes, but I don’t think that you are supposed to come together quite so literally!”
“Or quite so many times,” grinned Tarragon.

Featured Book: Two of Clubs
Hi, I’m so excited to be amongst some amazing authors in this box set. It’s like finding myself at a party with Tori Amos providing the music, Jamie Oliver cooking the food, Stephen Fry sat at one side and Jack Black on the other. How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing? I first hit the publish button in January 2014 but I’d spent a whole year writing my first book before that. Nowadays I write much more quickly but back then it was a slow process. It probably didn’t help that I was single parenting two very young children and being a surrogate for a friend. It was a lonely time so I wrote when the kids went to bed. My life is pretty great now and I’ve brought my writing with me into the good times. How did you come up with this storyline? I’ve always loved fantasy so it was a no brainer that I’d write fantasy sooner or later. This particular story came to me as more of a concept than a story later. It occurred to me that there are 52 weeks in a year and 52 cards in a pack. One card for each week. I then thought that it would be pretty cool to write a story about the cards. In my book the cards are Royals. This book follows the Two of Clubs as she accidentally starts a war between the four ruling families, The Clubs, The Hearts, The Diamonds and The Spades. Each book is written as a different member of each family. Each book is a stand alone but they follow the arc of the war as it unfolds. Each book has seven chapters - one for each day of the week. Eventually, I hope to have 365 chapters over 52 books!
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing? I love writing. I wasn’t much of a writer as a child but I was a voracious reader. I read to escape reality. I write for the same reason but I get to chose what direction the characters go in. The worst part for me is the lack of time. I want to write more and more and more!
What inspires you to write? Nothing inspires me to write as such. I just have stories rattling around in my head all the time, fighting to get out!
How did you conduct your research for The Two of Clubs (War and Suits book1)? 30 years of reading other author’s work. As it’s a fantasy, I’ve made up a lot of stuff. You’ll meet new creatures and new food and new customs amongst other things.
What are 3 of your favorite quotes from The Two of Club? Thinking about it...This is my favourite bit:~ “She’s a Heart!” I stated the obvious, knowing that Tarragon was fully aware that she was a Heart, and that was more than likely the reason he’d bedded her in the first place.~ “Isn’t this whole party thing to get the clans together so we can cooperate and live in a peaceful land? This is why we all come together at this time of year.” He gave that leisurely grin that women of all races seemed to fall for. It wasn’t going to work on me, though. I was mad!~ “Yes, but I don’t think that you are supposed to come together quite so literally!”“Or quite so many times,” grinned Tarragon.
More Favorites from Two of Clubs: The Heart District is awesome in a steampunky kind of way - I’m not saying any more - You’ll just have to read it.
What would your friends say is your best quality?I don’t give up. Actually, that’s what I say my best quality is. My friends would probably say my best quality is bringing them cake and wine! (If you can call that a quality!)
Are reader reviews important to you? My reviews keep me going. It’s amazing just how much some nice words from a complete stranger can pick me up for the rest of the day. They inspire me to keep going.
What do you do when you don’t write? I’m a graphic designer and wedding photographer as well as a mother. I also renovate houses. My favourite hobby is sleep lol!
Tell us about your other books? I have a Paranormal Romance series called Guardians of The Light which begins with a girl in a locked room. Her biggest problem isn’t the door, it’s what lies beyond.Talking of locked doors, my next series (The Labyrinthians) features plenty of them in the form of an underground maze with danger lurking around every corner. Finally, I’ve started a Cozy Mystery series (Murder at The Bite Cafe) which I hope to write book 2 in next year once I’ve written the first twelve of The Clubs stories
If you could share one thing about yourself that you would like readers to know what would it be? I love getting emails oh and I’ve crush on Jack Black...shhh, don’t tell everyone!
Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoy the book. If you sign up to my mailing list, I’ll let you know about an exclusive competition I’ll be running throughout the whole series of War and Suits books

Once back in Britain she got married, had babies and decided to write about the adventure she was now missing out on. She works full time, is a mum to three kids and has had a surrogate baby.
She has skydived twice (and survived), climbed Kilimanjaro and hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. She has also worked as a professional clown and banana picker amongst other jobs.
Somehow she finds time to write.
J. Amitage's second book, Infinite Spring, was nominated for a iFestival of Reading Award.
