I've noticed that there are no reviews for my latest anthology, Close Encounters of the Urban Kind, on Amazon. I know at least some of you have read it. I would sincerely appreciate it if ya'll went over to Amazon and posted some sort of review.

Late night thought process…

Imposter Syndrome

While I was visiting my family over Memorial Day, I had the chance to meet up with MG Ellingon. She is one of my biggest fans and biggest supporters. She even set up a Facebook fan page for me. It really was very cool to meet her. We talked writing and Apex and such. We laughed a lot and had lunch together. She even brought me a copy of GRANTS PASS to sign.

However, through it all, I kept wondering when she was going see what a fake I was; that I wasn't anything special and certainly not cool...

Intern Surprise

Right. So, yesterday I posted about needing an intern. Today I am honestly startled by the amount of interest in the position from people both near and far.

It is clear that I'm going to have to change my game plan a little.

I am no longer limiting myself to one intern. I am going to choose a small pool of interns to work with me to learn all aspects of anthology creation from concept to publication. I will have one main intern per anthology and this position will switch out by anthology.

Anthologist Intern Wanted

So, I've finished up two anthologies, I'm working on a third, I have a fourth scheduled for later this year and there is a serious consideration to a fifth anthology at the beginning of next year.

The first anthology, Grants Pass, won the AU Shadow Award for edited publication. The second one, Close Encounters of the Urban Kind is getting good press and is now being put up for 2010 awards. amandapillar , my co-editor on the award winning Grants Pass anthology finally received the statue and plaque for the Australian Shadows Award. They are really pretty. I am letting Amanda keep the statue but I'm hoping to pry the plaque out of her hands in September when we meet for the first time face-to-face at AussieCon4. Talented Friends Make Me Happy

After seeing the marvel that activegnome put together because the muse struck, I asked for something along the same lines but a little bit more personal to me. This is the result. It is the epilogue for the Grants Pass anthology.

Another First

I just got an email from angelmcc letting me know that my short fiction, Honoring the Dead, has just made it into Night-Mantled: The Best of Wily Writers, Volume 1. This is the first time I'm made it into the "best of" anything. I've have some nominations and honorable mentions but I have to say, I like making it into the collection that much more.
