Review of the Finance Book

(Obviously, this is a bias review in email form. :) Still, it is always good to get Mom's approval.)

Hi Honey -

I've just about finished "The Little Finance Book That Could" Its very readable and full of common sense. I would definitely recommend it - especially to someone just starting out new on their own. Beware of the plastic! Helpful, too, to those who've gotten over their heads and don't know which way is up.

I also found bits and pieces of me and Dad throughout. Guess you WERE...

GenCon

Sometimes I wonder if going to conventions are worth it but I never have to wonder that about GenCon Indy. Every year I go. I spend enough money on plane tickets, hotel and food to make me cringe but every year it is worth it from a professional point of view. Most of my RPG design and fiction gigs come from GenCon. This year is no exception.

I will be returning to Colonial Gothic for sure. I have a non-RPG book in progress with co-author Jason Hardy. I have been asked to write for Battletech—...

Ten Things That May or May Not Have Happened at GenCon*

I may or may not have been the ultimate catalyst in making Ryan Macklin blush.

I may or may not have blessed Matt James' dice with my 'twin orbs of might.'

I may or may not have been traumatized by Ed Greenwood's reading of Ron Miller's "Bronwyn."

I may or may not have had a conversation with David Tennant in the Dealers Room.

I may or may not have strong armed Maurice Broaddus back to the Apex table.

I may or may not have had a quiet conversation with Felicia Day.

I may or may not have had a steak...

GenCon is Nigh

Just a reminder to everyone that I will be at GenCon this coming weekend. I have a full schedule but I can always make time for a quick hello. Or come see me at my booth in Authors Avenue. I will be in Indianapolis as of Wednesday, meeting up with the Writer Symposium people for dinner and then making an appearance at the Diana Jones award celebration.

GenCon Schedule
The Writer Symposium panels are all in the Hyatt Hotel. If I'm not in a panel, I am probably at my table in Author's Avenue.

Aug ...

The Need to be Interesting

As an author and editor with a burgeoning career in the writing industry, I am one of many who needs to have her voice heard and to gain enough good exposure for name recognition. Part of getting your name out there, being heard, being recognized and advertising for work or promoting your latest sale is blogging. It is an important part of the author's repertoire (or is that portfolio?).

This need for self promotion, a necessary evil for most of the authors out there, can be daunting. Most aut...

Sale: "Swallow It All" to Rigor Amortis Anthology by Absolute Xpress

My record holds. Every zombie story I write, I sell. To be fair, that's only three zombie stories. Mostly because I don't like zombies. I'm not one of those people who likes to dress up as a zombie and do zombie walks. Those things make me want to run in fear. Let my friends do that sort of thing. I'll be back here in my apocalyptic bunker being paranoid.

So, this third zombie story sale is one that is very, eh, strange. You see, the anthology is about zombie erotica. Yep. For real. My story, ...

Grants Pass Review

Dark Wolf's Fantasy Reviews have just posted a review of Grants Pass.

"Post-apocalyptic fiction offers many reasons for meditation and "Grants Pass" is no different. Jennifer Brozek and Amanda Pillar collect in their anthology stories that will fuel the thoughts driven by the apocalyptic scenarios and will keep them burning long after the reader finishes "Grants Pass"."
