Can we change the past to influence our future? Physics Says: Yes

If you’re a regular follower of my Quantum Creating posts then you’re already be familiar with the concept of quantum entanglement which is based on ‘entangling’ your goal with your individual energy field in the same way that quantum physics has found that two particles can influence each other no matter how far apart they are – something that Einstein referred to as ‘spooky action at a distance’.

Now however, the whole concept of quantum entanglement has been extended to time – entangling two objects that have never co-existed together.

Hagai Eisenberg of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and his team have done what they are calling an ‘entanglement swap’. It works like this. You take two pairs of entangled photons and then take one photon from each pair ‘disentangling’ them which creates a second fresh pair from the two remaining photons. So, to put it simply you have photons 1 and 2. Eisenberg then measured the quantum state of photon 1 which destroyed it. Photon 2, however, lived on and, about 100 nanoseconds later, the team created a new pair of entangled photons, 3 and 4. When the team entangled photon 2 with newborn photon 3, photon 4 also became entangled with photon 1 – even though 1 was by then “dead” – in other words – in the past!

Einstein himself paved the way in our understanding to how this can happen by stating that past, present and future exist simultaneously. Therefore, on a quantum level particles, whether they occupy the same ‘time’ as we understand it or not, could be entangled in the same way particles can no matter how far apart they are. Say you entangle photons 1 and 2 in London. Photon 2 then gets sent to New York where it is swapped with another pair – 3 and 4. Photon 4 is now entangled with 1 still in London and can then be sent to say Sydney but London would be able to measure all the photons well before the Sydney photons exist!

So what are the implications here aside from possible time travel at some future date? In Quantum Creating terms when we do an entanglement exercise with a goal we want to achieve this means we are already bringing that future goal towards us (see Quantum Creating – Get Entangled With Your Goals). But by using the same technique theoretically we can go back to a past event where we would have liked a different outcome and ‘entangle’ this event with a vision of the outcome we would have liked to have achieved. As our lives today are merely a product of choices and decisions we made in the past by ‘entangling’ our past experience with a different outcome we therefore give it a different ‘charge’ – by doing this and changing our perception of it, we change that past paving the way for a more positive future.

It seems our idea of reality should now be one that is fluid and where all outcomes are possible. Who knows whether a future ‘you’ isn’t influencing the experiences you are having today? But physics now seems to be telling us that influencing our future may be a reality and not just a dream.

Although this is cutting edge science and we are only hypothesising these ‘new’ discoveries uses here is a vintage video of mine talking through a similare technique which I have been using for the past 20 years :)

Is the Universe a Supercomputer? Exploring the Spiritual Matrix

Who remembers Deep Thought, the supercomputer from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy who gave us the answer 42 to the question of life, the universe and everything? New research now suggests that far from a computer giving us an answer the universe itself may be nothing but a vast computer and everything that happens can be explained in terms of information processing.

Quantum theory has opened our minds to the fact that reality is more than just particles – all matter is energy (see Can we change the past to influence the future). So, when we stop thinking of a computer as a box and just think of it as something that processes information we are coming closer to what many quantum physicists now believe the universe actually is. “Quantum physics is almost phrased in terms of information processing,” says quantum physicist Vlatko Vedral of Oxford University.  “It’s suggestive that you will find information processing at the root of everything.” Sub-atomic particles shared properties and exchange information when they are entangled – despite the physical distance or even as we’re now seeing, the time that may separate them. So, just like a computer, every process in the universe (and that includes the birth of stars down to you and me going about our daily lives), is an interaction between particles which produces binary answers – yes or no, here or there, up or down. That means nature, at its most fundamental level, is simply the flipping of binary digits or bits, just like a computer. The result of all these ‘flips’ results in the interaction of atoms which form waves which produce what we call reality.

Professor Ed Fredkin pioneering researcher into digital physics at MIT says that the universe follows just one law, a single information-processing rule that is all you need to build a cosmos. In Fredkin’s view, this would be some form of “if – then” procedure; the kind of rule used in traditional computing to manipulate the bits held by transistors on a chip and operate the logic gates, but this time applied to the bits of the universe. According to Professor Vedral, to answer the question as to why the universe exists, quantum mechanics tells us that quantum information (i.e. a quantum computer) would result in a universe spontaneously coming into being. So, in the beginning was the information rather than the word! To further support this theory in 2008, the GEO 600 gravitational wave detector in Hanover, Germany, picked up a signal suggesting that space-time is pixellated – much like digital video data. This is exactly what would be expected in a “holographic” universe as theorised by Michael Talbot author of The Holographic Universe. So, what we think of as 3D reality is actually a projection of information encoded on the two-dimensional surface of the boundary of our universe – or even the multiverse.

This discovery came about over a debate over black holes. Physics tells us information (energy waves) cannot be destroyed, but a black hole appears to violate this by swallowing things that contain information then gradually evaporating away. What happens to that information was the subject of a long debate between Stephen Hawking and several of his peers. In the end, Hawking lost the debate, conceding that the information is imprinted on the event horizon that defines the black hole’s boundary and escapes as the black hole evaporates. This led theoretical physicists Leonard Susskind and Gerard’t Hooft to propose that the entire universe could also hold information at its boundary – with the consequence that our reality could be the projection of that information into the space within the boundary. If these scientists are correct then our ‘reality’ is closer to the Buddhist concept of a dream – or perhaps the spiritual and quantum equivalent of The Matrix, that we ever imagined possible but in terms of us fulfilling our soul purpose for being here lends a new meaning to the term ‘If you can dream it, you can do it.’ It could be we are not just creating our own reality but each of us is contributing to the reality we know as the Universe – we are all Quantum Creators!

Get More Zen. Give Yourself A Spiritual Makeover!

We can get so focussed on the big changes we want to achieve that we can lose sight of the power we have in this moment to bring about change simply by focussing on ourselves for a bit. No, this isn’t selfish. Want more peace and love in the world? Then understand the change starts with having more peace and love in your life – or to be more accurate – being the peace and love you want in your life. There are seven simple steps to achieving this.

1. Get rid of emotional baggage. You are a product of your past but there’s no need to remain a prisoner of it. That failed relationship, your toxic childhood – yes, they have made you a stronger person but are you carrying a legacy of hurt, distrust, anger and resentment or worse, shame? You can’t change what’s happened in the past but you can change the effect it is having on you in the present. If it’s a person who has made you feel like this write a letter – you don’t have to send it but this will help you release the negative feelings and create a sense of completion which will bring emotional peace. Above all, forgive the source of your pain – even if it’s yourself.

2. Don’t pigeonhole yourself. Have you spend years saying ‘I’m just no good at . .  (relationships, my job, anything . . . )’? Or ‘I’m just a stupid/angry/volatile person’? If so describing yourself this way tends to become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Change the words you use to describe yourself and then visualise yourself acting according to your new vocabulary. This way you’ll begin to see yourself deal with things differently.

3. Accept that mistakes happen. If you were perfect you wouldn’t be here. We are all here to learn and no single one of us is immune from making mistakes. Even highly evolved souls like the Dalai Lama admit they have made mistakes. Often we learn more from them than from our successes. Beating yourself up over a mistake isn’t going to change it. Apologise and then drop it. If you find yourself still dwelling on it, write your mistake down, rationalise without making excuses why it happened, acknowledge who or what was affected and then safely burn the paper. This allows you to acknowledge your mistake, learn from it and then let it go.

4. Relish quiet. We’re surrounded by noise. Other people’s mobile phone conversations and iPods, the background sound of piped music or a TV. When you’re at home do you have to have some kind of noise playing? When you appreciate life’s quiet times you are creating time to reflect on your life without distractions and are able to communicate with those who matter to you on a deeper level when you do see them. Spend an evening listening to the sounds of nature and reprise the art of talking in the evening instead of watching TV!

5. Accept compliments and affection. How many of us hold on to insults and name calling for years but cannot recall the last compliment we received? Or when you are complimented on a new outfit do you shrug it off with a ‘This old thing?’. Next time say ‘Thank you’ when someone compliments you. If you find accepting attention difficult it may be that someone put you down when you were younger. If so – repeat exercise 1!

6. Be grateful. Most spiritual and psychological practices agree – the key to happiness is liking who you are now and counting your blessings. Don’t fixate on what you don’t have – focus on what you do, and above all, don’t compare yourself to others – you are unique. Why would you want to give that away?

7. Live in the moment. Nothing in our lives in guaranteed – sadly relationships go wrong, jobs end and people leave us. If you’re experiencing a ‘Why did this happen?’ period know that it’s part of a mourning process to do this. However, if you’re constantly future projecting about the life you’re going to lead when you manifest your goals then you’re missing the gift of the present (it’s a present – get it!). Enjoy what you have right now – no matter how large or small the gift – a ‘well done’ from your boss, the bark of joy your dog gives when you get home at night, your partner’s smile, a hug from your child. These things are precious and enrich our lives beyond measure. The moment will be gone soon enough!

Where Science and Spirituality Meet: What is reality?

We’ve talked so much about how what you think creates your reality and how this ties in with quantum physics – this forms the basis of my Quantum Creating techniques. Science continues to probe those questions spirituality has attempted to answer for millennia – just what is ‘reality’ as we perceive it? This question continues to perplex as it appears the more we find out about what constitutes reality the more questions it appears to raise leading to yet another question: Is anything actually real?

Let’s take the screen you are reading this article on right now. Whether it’s on your phone, your computer or your tablet, you may say it looks pretty real – especially if you are holding it. Traditionally, science might have agreed with you that the screen is real but actually very few components on a sub-atomic level account for the screen being ‘real’ to you. Breaking the screen down its atoms are comprised of electrons, protons and neutrons. Protons and neutrons are comprised of quarks. No two electrons can occupy the same quantum state and no two atoms can exist in the same space. Where it starts to get really freaky is when we look at the space inside the atom itself as atoms are basically comprised of empty space with a charge provided by the electrons. To put this into perspective – say you could enlarge an atom so that its nucleus measured the same size as the Earth. At that point the distance from the nucleus to the closest electron would be 2.5 times the distance of the Earth to the Sun! So, what we perceive as ‘reality’ is in fact nothing but so-called empty space and what you think is a screen is in fact nothing but an energy wave.

However, and here is where it gets really interesting, all this ‘empty’ space probably isn’t empty at all. There is the invisible dark matter and dark energy which together appear to account for 96% of matter in the universe. In many spiritual traditions especially those practiced by the Native Americans, the shaman would enter the ‘void’ via meditation or ritual to receive messages from spirit guides and also future predictions. Could this ‘void’ in fact be another way of describing a quantum state – a dark energy field where information could be retrieved relating to the past, present and future (as none of these actually exist). So, messages from ‘ancestors’ come via tapping into this field. We are fast coming around to accept that this is what today’s psychics are doing – connecting to this quantum reality and looking at possible futures. After all – as the future does not exist per se with the information we receive from a skilled psychic we can therefore change an outcome as we know we can change our reality! One of our readers even goes so far as to describe what she does as ‘quantum analysing’ – a term that might better describe what many psychics do today.

There are so many mysteries in our universe and idea of what is real that we have yet to discover. For me, I firmly believe that due to the fluid nature of energy, we truly are co-creators of our reality working with a powerful energy force that binds us all together.

Discover Your Psychic Power Centres.

Have you ever said ‘I had a gut feeling’? Or ‘I was so overwhelmed I choked on my words’? ‘I couldn’t breathe’? If so, chances are you were receiving insights via your psychic power centre. Just like there are many different psychic styles, each of us receives our information through a different psychic ‘power centre’ in our body and this varies between each of us and can change over time.

You already know where the psychic power centres are if you are familiar with the chakras or energy meridians that are located in the body. Most psychics channel information via one of these whether they are aware of it or not. But what surprises many people is that we may not necessarily be receiving our insights via the third eye or the crown chakra. All the charkas represent doorways or channels to spiritual insight and the chances are that you psychic power centre could be any one of them.

To discover which chakra is your gateway, first have a think back as to whether you have ever said ‘I felt a tightness in my chest’, ‘My heart stopped’, ‘I felt pressure between my eyes’ when you had a sudden flash of insight about someone or something. If you get the same feeling around one chakra over and over again this is usually the centre where your intuition enters. If you’re still not certain, don’t worry. The following meditation will help you tap into your psychic power zone.

Make sure you won’t be disturbed (turn off your phone) and sit or lay down in a comfortable position. Form a question in your mind that you would like to receive insight into. It can be specific such as ‘Will I get a new job in the next six months?’ or more general such as ‘Is there anything I need to know about my relationship with so-and-so?’

Now, holding your question in your mind, focus on your base chakra which is located at the bottom of your spine. Imagine yourself breathing in the colour red while thinking about your question. Do you feel a tightness of surge of energy from this chakra as you do? Are you receiving images or impressions? Don’t worry if nothing happens. After a few moments shift your focus now upwards to your sacral chakra. Again, hold your question in your mind while imagining yourself bathed in the colour orange. Note if there is any tingling in your chakra or if you are receiving any flashes of insight.

Keep on moving your focus up through your charkas – to your solar plexus chakra (yellow), your heart chakra (green), throat chakra (blue), brow (third eye, purple) and crown (indigo) until you arrive at the chakra that responds to you. This is usually in the form of a slight tension in the body area where the chakra is located. Once you have that repeat your question and wait to see what comes through.

All your chakras are energy centres and remember, no chakra is ‘better’ than another because it’s located in the heart or the head so be open to the one where the information is flowing from. Once you know which one it is you will be able to tap in and open up this power centre whenever you need guidance or information. Identifying your psychic power centre is a valuable tool for developing your intuition.

Want to move house? Simple Rituals to Attract the Right Living Space

It may surprise you to know that we don’t have 100% of the say in choosing where we live. Our houses actually ‘choose’ us. If you are familiar with Chinese geomancy (Feng shui) then you know that each building has its own ‘energy’. In cities such as Hong Kong and Shanghai, Feng shui experts are paid enormous amounts of money by international corporations when it comes to designing and positioning their new buildings. What is more – in recent years the Feng shui wars have broken as by positioning your building in a certain way you can block off the energy to your rival’s building which affects their business!

On an everyday level, each house or apartment has its own energy vibration. This vibration attracts certain experiences and also people to it. So, when we are looking for a new home the house may ‘choose’ the person or people it wants to have these particular experiences for their soul growth. To a certain extent, this can take some of the stress out of house hunting when we can step back and realise that if the house wants us, we will end up living there – and if not, our soul growth with be in another environment.

But if you are wanting to move how can you start to attract the right place to you? Here are some simple tips to get that energy moving – literally!

1. De-clutter. It may sound obvious but if your closets and drawers are stuffed with things you no longer need or use they are ‘anchoring’ you down to your present address. Look around you. Do you really want to take all this stuff into your new home? Have a clear out, take the things you no longer need to a charity shop or sell them on eBay. If there are things you want to keep but you don’t use them that often start to pack them away. Not only will it make moving easier when the time comes it puts the universe on notice that you are serious in your intention to move house.

2. Choose your environment. What kind of home do you want to move to? Do you need more space because you’re thinking of working from home? Or do you need to downsize? What area would you like to live in? Look in magazines and on-line for photographs and make a vision board somewhere where you will look at it everyday. By fixing the vision of the kind of home you want in your mind you start to draw it to you.

3. Buy something new just for your new home. Buying something specifically to put in our new home is one of the most affirming and also powerful things we can do to draw our new home to us. Perhaps you’ve had your eye on a lamp, some beautiful bedding, or a painting that you could just see taking pride of place in your new home. If so – don’t wait until you’ve found it. Go out and buy it NOW. Affirm that you have bought this to go in your new home. Don’t use it yet however. You can look at it whenever you want, each time affirming this is going in your new home. This sends out a powerful signal to the universe that you are ready to move as you are acting as if your new home is already a reality. Remember – our thoughts and then our actions create our reality!

By following these simple steps you are not only broadcasting you are ready to move, you will attract the right place for you to experience the next stage of your soul growth in. If you think back to all the places you have lived in you will be able to see how each address offered you an opportunity for new experiences. Now – get packing!

Consciousness And The Mind – The True Bridge Across Forever

Traditionally, science has held that what we think of as ‘consciousness’ is situated in our brains. In other words, ‘we’ do not exist outside of the physical clump of cells, lobes, neutral pathways and synapses we call the brain. Due to this rather reductionist viewpoint, science has therefore dismissed phenomena such as premonitions and psychic ability. If consciousness is just a brain function and confined to the grey matter between our ears then the argument follows that everything we perceive is confined to the here and now – therefore premonitions and psychic insights cannot exist! However, both quantum mechanics and new scientific research are set to overturn these ideas about just what consciousness is and where it is located.

In his book, The Conscious Universe, Dr. Dean Radin looks at 309 experiments conducted by Charles Honorton and Diane Ferrari into precognition. 62 investigators tested 50,000 participants in over two million trials 35% of which showed that people can describe future events when only five percent would be expected to simply by chance. The odds that these results were not due to chance was greater than 10 to the twentieth power to one.

Dr. Larry Dossey author of The Science of Premonitions concludes that consciousness is what is known as a nonlocal phenomenon – basically a scientific term for infinite. So, something is nonlocal, it’s not inhabiting a specific place – such as your body or brain, and doesn’t even exist at a specific point in time (i.e.: what we perceive as ‘now’ or ‘the present’).  Nonlocal events are immediate; they require no travel time and quantum mechanics has shown us that time does not in fact exist. They require no signal to “carry” them and they don’t become weaker with distance.  They are unmitigated; they do not become weaker with increasing distance. Nonlocal phenomena are omnipresent, everywhere at once. This means there is no necessity for them to go anywhere; they are already there. They are infinite in time as well, present at all moments, past present and future, meaning they are eternal.

Think about what this means for a moment. This means that your consciousness – not your brain which is housed inside your body – is eternal.

As physicist Chris Clarke, of the University of Southampton, says: “On one hand, mind is inherently non-local. On the other, the world is governed by a quantum physics that is inherently non-local. This is no accident, but a precise correspondence …[Mind and the world are] aspects of the same thing…The way ahead, I believe, has to place mind first as the key aspect of the universe…We have to start exploring how we can talk about mind in terms of a quantum picture…Only then will we be able to make a genuine bridge between physics and physiology.”

Or perhaps this research is not just a bridge between physics and physiology but also a bridge to our understanding of our souls and intuition. Science seems to be finally accepting that there are ‘more things in heaven and earth’ than have been dreamed of in previous hypotheses forming a true bridge across forever.
