Psychic Development: Three Simple Steps to Your Unique Psychic Style

Tarot cards, pendulums, crystal balls, psychometry. What most experienced psychic readers will tell you is that while all of these methods can and do deliver amazing insights, all of them are usually just ‘gateways’ that allow the psychic to connect to the universal consciousness, quantum field or whatever you wish to call it, and then allows a clairvoyant flow to begin.

And it’s this ‘gateway’ that holds the key to discovering our own individual psychic style. All to often when we are starting to develop our psychic skills we can fall into the trap of thinking that there are only a few ‘right’ ways to be receiving our information. In other words, if we’re not channelling it via Tarot cards, a crystal ball, holding a piece or jewellery or whatever, it’s not valid information and this ‘isn’t the way it’s done’. Nothing could be further from the truth. One thing I’ve found to hold true about developing our psychic gifts is that the process is one of the most creative you can embark on – so why limit it with our preconceptions? The fact is many truly gifted and accurate psychics receive their information in highly unusual ways. One gifted reader I ran across worked as a make-up artist and would receive flashes about what was happening in a client’s life as she did their make-up. After a while she found the courage to start telling her clients what she was picking up and was amazed to discover she was 100% right. She then expanded her services to include combined make-up and psychic reading!

Our signature psychic style comes from how we begin to receive our information. So, if you’re struggling with the Tarot cards and can’t even tune that crystal ball to BBC 3, let alone peer at what’s happening in anyone’s life, how do you begin to discover what your signature psychic style is?

1: Look at how you receive your insights when you’re not trying to. Our intuition works all the time – whether we’re shuffling our Tarot decks or seated in front of a crystal ball – or not. Think back to when you have had flashes of intuition that turned out to be accurate when you weren’t deliberately trying to tune in. What were you doing? Where were you? Most importantly – how were you feeling? Write down as many of these instances as you can. Is there a pattern here? Chances are similarities are going to emerge. You may have been in similar situations each time it happened or doing the same thing. Chances are you were probably relaxed and in what is known as ‘The Zone’. Keep a record of these occurrences and you’ll begin to see a pattern emerge over time. If you were doing something immersive or enjoyable then this is your gateway!

2: Find Your Gateway. If you notice you are doing something immersive and/or enjoyable when you receive your insights – like the make-up artist I mentioned earlier, then this is your ‘gateway’ – the portal that allows the information that flows to you. However, your gateway can be anything – a candle, a painting, a book, a beautiful view. By writing down the details of what you are doing when you’re not trying to channel, you can begin to identify what the gateway is.

3: Let go, let flow. Once you have found what your special ‘gateway’ is (or just suspect what it may be), then it’s time to try it consciously. To do this, focus on your gateway while letting your mind wander back to a time when you weren’t concentrating on it. Above all, don’t now ‘push’ it or will for something to come through. Maintain what I would call a state of ‘relaxed curiosity’ as if you are just conducting an experiment and you’re just not bothered about the results you get.

Don’t automatically dismiss your gateway if the first few times of practicing Step 3 you get no or mixed results. If however you are continuing to struggle, then drop trying to find your signature style for a while but keep an eye out for those instances where it happens unbidden and then repeat the three steps. One thing I can guarantee you – no matter how long it takes your signature psychic style will eventually reveal itself to you!

Be Your Own Psychic: Getting Accurate Answers

One of the questions that crops up the most for anyone developing their psychic skills is: ‘How do I know the difference between my intuition and wishful thinking?’ It can take some practice to know the difference between true spiritual insight and the outcome we may wish for and to have the courage to recognise it!

Our psychic abilities are like any other – we have to work to hone them. If your ambition is to be an Olympic athlete you don’t expect to just turn up at the Olympic Games and win a medal. You know you would have to train for many years and go through many stages of competition to even be selected for the Olympics. Well, your psychic abilities are no different but you would be amazed how quickly you can start getting the accurate answers you need in a relatively short time just with just a simple technique.

The mistake most people make is that they start out by trying to get an accurate answer about something they have a great deal of attachment to and wish for truly, madly, deeply. For example you may have had a break-up and really want to have a reconciliation. Or you really, really want to get a certain job. You undoubtedly have a great deal of emotional investment in the outcome to questions like these. If you’re reading for someone close to you, you may know their expectations about a certain outcome – and that’s when we can start to mistake true insight for wishful thinking. Like an athlete training for a major competition, we need to start small and as we flex our psychic muscles, work up to the big stuff!

First, to learn the difference between what you want to happen and what the outcome will be you need to start with asking questions that you have no emotional attachment to the outcome. Set yourself three or four simple ones – and choose them so you will be able to verify the accuracy of your insights fairly quickly. For example, if your company is hiring someone for a new position and you see the candidates but are not part of the hiring process, you might like to see if by just looking at them, you can pick the one who gets the job. Or you can pick a sporting fixture and try to predict which team will win. Another tactic is to pick a stock or share you have no investment in and predict if it will go up or down by the end of the week. Just simple tasks. Once you have decided on what answers you seek make some quiet time and have your journal to hand. You can use your tarot cards if you want, or just rely on your psychic skills or use a combination of both. Phrase your question in a way which you can receive an answer and be open minded to what comes through. Don’t forget – you could feel that no team will win – they could draw. The stocks may stay the same or return to their opening point and nobody could be hired at this time! What is important when you do receive your information is to note how it comes through and most importantly of all – how you are feeling. Do you notice one of your senses heightened? Do colours look brighter? Are noises louder? Do you feel excited? Breathless? Any tension in a part of your body? Tingling? Write down everything you are feeling as well as the outcome you’re predicting.

What you will notice very quickly with this exercise is that when you are right you will have the same kind of feelings each time – the information will come in the same way, you will have the same ‘gut’ reaction to it and the same changes will take place in your physiology. Practice this over a few weeks and keep writing down your feelings and look for what was different if you have ‘misses’. Were you tired? Worried? Stressed? Unwell? You will then get to know what effects your accuracy.

Over the weeks, start to move from questions you have no investment in to those you do beginning with some that you have a certain amount of attachment to and slowly work your way up to the big ones. Don’t forget – very often something doesn’t work out the way we want it to for a very good reason and that is usually because the universe wants something better for us. Keep writing down those feelings and responses and soon you’ll be unable to ignore the clear difference between a true outcome and one you may wish for. Soul truth is what intuition is really all about.

Developing Your Psychic Skills: Psychometry

As psychics we have so many tools at our disposal and as you develop your skills you will find that some work better for you than others. Psychometry involves handling or touching objects belonging to someone to pick up information about the people connected to the object. It’s an intriguing combination of normal psychic awareness plus the ability to tune into the ‘energy waves’ generated by the object. And as we know – all matter in the universe is nothing more than energy.

When we handle or wear objects a lot – especially jewellery, we leave ‘energy patterns’ on them that retain information. Many psychics use rings, watches, necklaces – objects made of metal, but there is no set of rules that says it has to be jewellery as other psychics have had successful with cloth. The item does need to have been in regular contact with the wearer however for you to get a good reading. Psychometry is often used by psychics helping the police in missing persons and murder cases as the handling of the object enables them to create a link to the person.

If you’d like to try your hand at psychometry then it’s as easy as asking a friend to give you an object – preferably belonging to someone they know but you don’t know that well. That way you’ll be able to get feedback as to how accurate your impressions are.

Place the object in the palm of your hand and then place your other hand on top of it. If after a few moments an image pops into your mind, mention this to your friend. You may then find that more images start arriving and often these are everyday things but don’t dismiss them as they can turn out to be incredibly relevant. Just keep telling your friend what you are seeing. You may also find you are picking up on the emotions of the person to whom the object belongs, so mention these as well. The next stage is to build on these pictures and feelings and start to form a story about what is going on in the person’s life. Don’t make things up. Go with what you truly feel is happening.

Psychometry is like any other psychic skill, it can take a while to master. The more you try however, the better you will become as your mind will get used to receiving the information in this way. Accept as with learning any psychic skill that while you may be shown correct information, it may take practice before you interpret it correctly. Many people give up too soon when it comes to learning any psychic skill, feeling they are getting things wrong when very often all that is wrong is that they need to learn to interpret what they are being shown the right way – that is the thing that takes the time!

The Power Of The Word – Words Are Spells.

If you’re working towards your goals then it’s likely that your personal radar is already tuned in to those people in your circle who drain your energy or are unable to offer you encouragement or support. We all know that misery loves company and so often friends are so afraid of owning their own power they would rather keep us powerless with them by throwing cold water on our dreams. These kinds of situations are easy to spot. And that’s just by engaging in negative talk. It works like this. Say most of your friends are coupled up and your main goal right now is to find a loving, supportive partner. Your friends also want you to find someone. Yet, when you get together your friends complain about their partners. One of them says he doesn’t spend enough time with the kids. Another complains hers doesn’t help enough around the house and is off with all the time with his mates. Yet another friend complains that the guys she dates dump her after the second date. While on an intellectual level your conscious mind is very clear about the kind of partner you want and knows you can achieve your goal here is what your unconscious mind makes of all this: ‘See, even if you have a partner you could just end up doing everything yourself. Our subconscious mind’s job is to protect us.
