Psychic Development 101: Soul Reading Ethics

Let’s talk about soul ethics and spiritual integrity when it comes to giving readings. When you are ready to start practicing your psychic and Tarot skills on others by starting to give test readings, it’s very important that you first decide on a Code of Soul Ethics. Readings should be all about empowerment – and truth. Anything else does not come from a place of true intuition and a desire to help. I founded my company on a strong code of ethics which all my readers have to adhere to and I believe that this has been the foundation stone of our success. When you are giving a reading for someone, and it doesn’t matter if you are being paid for the reading or not, you are entering into a contract of trust between you, the person you are reading for, and the universe itself which provides you with your insight and intuition. So, before you take that all-important next step and start to practice your skills on others, or even if you have already started to do this, it’s important to keep these simple guidelines in mind:

1: Always come from a place of truth. In other words, tell your client what you see – not what you think they want to hear. This one can be especially difficult when we begin by practicing on family and friends. Obviously we care about them but also we know they are hoping for certain outcomes in situations. We may shy away from delivering bad news but no matter who it is we are reading for, to give someone false hope is both cruel and unethical and also at the end of the day, destroys our credibility when of course things don’t turn out the way we said they would. One of the most common reasons for anyone wanting a reading is after a break-up as often they want to know if a reconciliation is possible. If you truly do not see this happening then it is your responsibility to tell them – no matter how much you know they want to hear the opposite! Instead, bring a positive focus to the future such as ‘From what I’m seeing here I believe that your soul contract with so-and-so has now been completed or changed, but what’s coming through very strongly is a new relationship emerging for you.’

2: Be upfront about your reading strengths. Sometimes people want a specific type of reading. For example, you may excel at Tarot but are no good at mediumship. Readings are one of the areas where you cannot afford to take the ‘fake it till you make it’ approach. If someone wants an astrology reading and you’re not sure you know your Uranus from your quincunx, please be honest about it even if it means turning business away if you have begun to charge. People will remember and appreciate your honesty and chances are they will either opt for the kind of reading you do offer or come back to you when they do want one.

3: Understand that everyone, no matter how good, has a ‘missed’ reading. So, for whatever reason you just can’t tune-in or pick up on the person’s energy? Don’t despair! This happens to even the best and most experienced readers every so often. Again, be honest about this, don’t fudge your way through it. Say ‘I’m really sorry, but for whatever reason, I’m not being shown anything for you today’. Explain this is nothing sinister and it sometimes happens and obviously, if this is a paying client, refund their money or waive the charge. You can offer to try again another time or else refer them to someone else you recommend.

4: Know when to refer your client on. Sometimes the problems our clients face require specialist intervention. It’s useful to have some numbers at hand for various helplines and professional organisations. You may have to suggest to your client that they need the advice of a doctor, lawyer, therapist or accountant. It is your job to support your client in these circumstances and offer guidance, but not to replace the advice of a professional if you feel this is needed. Encourage your client to take whatever steps are necessary.

5: Keep confidentiality. What your clients tell you, even if this is a friend, must be kept strictly confidential between the two of you. The only exception to this rule is a client who reveals they have committed a serious crime or are about to, or anything to do with child abuse. In these instances you must end the reading immediately and contact the authorities.

If you follow these five simple guidelines you’ll soon discover that you’re working in harmony with spirit, you’ll bring accuracy and depth to your readings and what’s more – people will recommend you. What more could you ask for?

Journal Magic – Creating your future, healing your past

You may have noticed that many of the Tarot, psychic development and QC exercises I give you require you to write in your journal. But your journal serves a far greater purpose than just being the means to keep tracking of readings you do or your goals. I’ve written recently about how easy it can be to lose faith in our goals and stop the work we need to do to attain them when they appear to be taking longer than we might like to manifest. Not only can our journals serve to remind us of how far we may have come towards our goal and keep us on track, they can be a powerful tool for self-transformation too when we utilise them simply as journals to record what is going on with our lives.

Yes, Bridget Jones had the right idea when she talked about ‘telling the truth about Bridget Jones’ in her dairy. The great thing about keeping a journal is that is acts not just as a platform for us to vent about what is worrying us at a given time (whether it is Mark Darcy or something more serious), but it also allows our imagination free-rein to come up with solutions for us as we engage the non-judgemental and creative parts of our brain. What’s more, our journals form a chronology of our soul journey here on Earth. How many of you who keep journals have gone back and re-read your journals months or even years later? What stands out for most people when they do this is that the problems and challenges they faced back then in their lives have been resolved or are just no longer issues for them. We are also reminded to the goals we set ourselves and how they either came about – or changed. When we re-visit the past in this way and re-read our entries, any problems or issues we may be facing in the present lose their power as our journals remind us of how far we have come, how we dealt with any issues back then and how they are no longer issues for us today. Therefore we understand that no matter what may be happening now, we have the power deal with it and in time no matter how bad things may seem right now, it will cease to be a problem for us – just like our old problems are today. We can therefore tap back into our strength.

If we are still facing similar problems years later however, our journals show us the way forward because they let us know that the approach we used in the past didn’t work and we must now try a new one. They also remind us that often letting time step in is the way forward and this can be anything from attaining a goal to solving a problem. A friend of mine told me about his journals and how he found an old one in the back of his desk one day. He re-read the list of goals he had made five years ago and realised every single one had come true – yet many seemed impossible at the time he made the entry.

Our journals act as a soul compass allowing us to navigate into the future and make sense of our past. If you haven’t yet got into the practice of keeping a journal, or only use it for readings and goal-setting, then why not start a dialogue with your inner self via your journal today? A personal journal has been described as ‘Life’s companion’ and it really can be the friend that goes with us throughout our lives and like any best friend, reminds us of our victories, our strengths, and just how far we’ve come.

Quantum Creating Super-Boost: Keeping the Faith in Your Vision

If you are a regular follower of my QC posts then you already understand the link on a Quantum level between our energy and what we attract into our lives. When we set our goals and have a vision for our future, we tend to manifest events, people, things and experiences that are on the same ‘frequency’ as our own energy. Therefore a big part of the QC process revolves around changing our energy – especially when we undergo a Meme Detox ridding ourselves of thought ‘viruses’ that pollute our thoughts and therefore impact on our energy vibration.

So, if you have been doing this incredible soul work and have experienced an energy shift, why does it appear sometimes that the universe just isn’t delivering on its side of the bargain? You’ve done all this hard work yet that ideal relationship, perfect career or even just a radical change in your circumstances has yet to appear? This is the time when doubts can begin to creep in – we doubt the process, start to doubt ourselves and

sometimes even give up.

What we tend to forget when this happens is that timing is something we have no control over. If you’ve ever had a reading chances are your reader has told you that timing is the hardest thing to predict – simply because there are so many other factors in play. As Yoda said : ‘Always in motion is the future’. And we tend to forget this.

Let’s take manifesting your ideal relationship as one example. You’ve had that profound energy shift around being open to unconditional love and have on a deep soul level worked on loving yourself more first and foremost. Yet six months later that perfect mate has yet to appear. Has the work been for nothing? Has the universe forgotten you? Does this mean QC doesn’t work? The answer to all of the above is No! The fact is, the universe is working non-stop to deliver that love connection to you but your mate has not been living in a bubble just waiting for the day when your energy shifts to allow them to come in. Chances are they may be in the process of winding up a previous connection that hasn’t worked out, perhaps they are still processing their last relationship and right this moment because of that, are emotionally unavailable for you. Or they may be in another part of the country or even another country entirely and you are having to wait for the universe to bring about the events where you connect. There could be a hundred reasons why the timing just hasn’t been right up until now that have nothing to do with you or failing to apply QC successfully! All you need to remember is that when the time is right it will happen and your request is in the process of manifesting.

It’s the same with that dream job or that home you have envisioned. The job or even the company itself might not exist or be open right now. You may have to wait until the person who already has your position decides to leave or that start-up starts hiring. That dream home may not yet be on the market or the universe knows you have to have your business up and running first. Whatever is or isn’t happening, the universe is aware of the timing that needs to take place for your dream to happen.

No matter how long it takes, keep in mind that timing is the one thing we can’t control and the universe could have something even better in mind for us than we can possibly imagine. Keeping the faith and connection to our vision is what allows the QC process to continue and work for us – so hold on and stay true to those dreams because the universe believes in you – and them. All in good time,

Get off the problem merry-go-round! Holistic problem solving.

Perhaps you’re struggling with that credit card debt you ran up over Christmas – only paying off the minimum every month and unable to make a dent in the balance. Your love life is hardly a bed of roses – let alone passion, and you just can’t seem to escape that humdrum job no matter how hard you try. All these kinds of scenarios are serious soul and spiritual matters – but they are also soul growth opportunities too.As I’m always saying – the entire universe is made up of energy. There’s money energy, love energy, creative energy – just to name a few. And each one has a different vibration. Very often if we are experiencing lack in one area of our lives, we are also having problems with another one. Which is why if you want to begin to focus your energy around money problems, for example, you have to take a holistic view and look at all the areas of your life that may have an energy blockage or be out-of-alignment and not just one.

When our energy is out of balance even in one area, let alone two or more, what this means is that manifesting our goals just becomes harder. Often when this happens this feels so painful we self-medicate in all the wrong ways – we may binge eat or drink, over-spend when we know we really shouldn’t, choose a relationship we know deep down is wrong because we are lonely or cut ourselves off from the flow of life becoming depressed.

If any of this sounds all-too-sadly-familiar, then it’s time to do something about it. First of all, keep in the front of your mind this is soul work and whatever you do – don’t judge yourself. You need to let go of any thoughts such as ‘I’m no good with money’ or ‘Love is what happens to others, not me’. Now, without judgement, list the areas of your life that deep down you know are out of balance keeping that holistic view in mind. Is it just one area or more than one? Often we can have an energy problem in one area but it manifests in negative behaviour in another.

Let’s say for example you’re stuck in a job you hate. Your job makes you feel so drained and depressed that you don’t feel like doing anything after work. Instead you’re going home and self-soothing by having one too many glasses of wine and not eating properly and as a result you’ve put on weight and you’re feeling isolated. Many people would focus on the weight gain first but what’s fuelling it is the work situation – in other words, fix the work situation and the weight and feeling cut off fixes itself.

But it’s important to understand from a holistic point of view what’s happening first so you can focus your energy accordingly. Once you have identified the areas in your life where there’s an imbalance and if you’ve come up with more than one, focus on the most pressing one first. If say you are having money problems then it’s time to focus your energy first on managing the money you DO have and then move on from there to how to increase it. ‘Where intention goes, energy flows’ applies here. Make a list of all your expenses for a month – everything you buy even that latte on the way to work, and I guarantee that even if you don’t consider yourself money minded you will be by the end of the month and you will feel in control of your finances again.

It’s a funny thing about taking this approach, that as we begin to direct our energy at the area which requires the most attention, other imbalanced areas begin to shift too. I’m not saying they won’t require some effort but often you will find that you fix the main problem and others no longer exist. The secret is to be aware of how they are linked which is why a holistic view is the key to solving all your energy blockages – once and for all.

The Tarot of Manifestation: Using Tarot for Goal Success

The Tarot is so much more than a prediction tool. It can guide us on a psychological level revealing the way to heal our deepest soul wounds, it can open up our understanding of archetypes and psychology as well as providing us with a direct line to universal wisdom and our own intuition. But the Tarot can also be a powerful tool we can use to accelerate our QC process – or any goal manifesting technique for that matter!

Ready to start your journey to super-charge those goals? As usual, have your Tarot journal handy, switch off or unplug your phone and ensure you won’t be disturbed. Also, have your list of goals to hand for this exercise as well as your Tarot deck. You can light candles or incense if you want to add to the ambience – especially if this evokes a scent you associate with a particular goal.

You can even have pictures to hand as well – perhaps a photograph of that trip-of-a-lifetime destination or maybe just a big ticket item you are hoping to save for. But run through your list of goals and pick three to begin with and then pick visuals associated with them but this part of the process is optional. It will work whether you use extra visuals or not.Once you have decided on the three goals you are initially going to focus on, re- write them in your journal. I recommend starting the process with a couple of short term goals and then a medium term one.

The idea is to see that the process works and then as you manifest a short-or-medium term goal and tick it off your list you can then move on to a longer term one. Now, take your Tarot deck and lay out all the cards FACE UP in front of you. Now, pick a card which embodies the essence of each goal for you. This may not be a card that may traditionally be associated with a certain goal – the important thing to remember here is that it has to resonate with your feelings around your goal so follow your intuition when it comes to which cards to choose. When you have picked your three cards, make a note next to your goals in your journal which card you picked for each goal. Spend a few moments with your cards and then from your three, choose one that is going to be your main focus – the goal you wish to manifest first. Again, I’ve found that focussing on a short-to-medium term goal is the best way to kick-start this process and to gain confidence in it. As you gain confidence in the process you can then move on to bigger goals.

Now you have chosen your first goal and your first card, spend some time with this card to see what additional messages it has for you about your goal. It may give you ideas about people to talk to who may be able to help, ways to attain your goal you had not previously considered, actions you could take that may not have occurred to you. Write down all information and ideas in your journal and follow these up and note your results. Stay connected to the energy of your goal and the card you have chosen by continuing to look at the card for just a couple of minutes every day. If you get new information from the card continue to write this down and follow-through on any actions you feel you need to take but what you may find is that the simple process of doing this brings about amazing synchronicities and opportunities for you. You may be amazed at how quickly your first goal manifests. Once this is done, cross this goal off your list butbefore you move on to the next goal and card you picked, repeat the entire process foranother goal and add this to your list so you always have three goals.

This fusion of Tarot magic and goal focus can really bring about goal attainment – and plug you directly into the true power of the Tarot.

Soul SOS: Healing a Broken Heart from Within

Unless we are one of the very fortunate souls who fall in love and stay in love with their childhood sweetheart or the first person we date, chances are most of us at one time or another in our lives will be left with a broken heart. The feelings of rejection, of grief and of regret can make us feel like our world has ended and on top of this, there is the loss of the love we felt for and from the other person. Heartbreak can be both numbing and shattering both at the same time. We can be locked in a cycle of mourning just as if we had experienced the death of someone close to us and feel we will be trapped in this stage forever.

If you are presently experiencing the anguish of a broken heart, then one technique that can help you begin to heal is to begin to understand that the love you felt and received from your former partner hasn’t ‘gone’ just because you are no longer in a relationship with them. The love you experienced from them is just a reflection of the love you always have inside of you – it hasn’t gone anywhere, it is just that no-one is now there to bring it out and reflect it back at you!

When you are able to, take a few moments to connect back to this love and do this simple meditation which will aid you in your healing process. It’s not about getting mawkish or wallowing in ‘the way we were’ – it’s about understanding you ARE love! You can sit or lie down for this – whichever is most comfortable for you. Switch off or unplug your phone and ensure you won’t be disturbed. If you like you can light a scented candle or even play some ambient music.

Close your eyes and start to pay attention to your breathing. If you begin to feel sad or teary, don’t fight those feelings. Acknowledge them as part of the healing process, allow yourself to feel whatever it is you feel and breathe on through them. As you breathe, draw your breath deeper and deeper into your body. With each exhalation imagine yourself releasing some of the feelings of sadness, loss and heartache. As you breathe deeper into your body imagine your breath reaching the area where all these feelings are emanating from – your heart chakra. Again, as you breathe into this area you may feel intense emotions arise – that’s normal and just breathe into them if they do. Now, allow yourself to experience how you felt when you first fell in love. Let those feelings surface.

You are allowed at this point to picture your former lover in front of you. Imagine you are back in those heady first days of romance – the feeling of bring in love and being loved in return and also the feeling we so often experience when we fall in love – that anything is possible. Hold on to those feelings now as you imagine your former lover either fading out of the picture or walking away from you. Breathe in deeply, drawing those feelings deep into your heart.

Although you can no longer see your lover in your mind’s eye you’ll immediately notice the feelings are still there – because that’s where they always were – inside of you. They are still there and this healing meditation is designed to remind you of this truth – the love is always within us.

When you are ready open your eyes. Hopefully you can stay connected to the love within but when you feel this start to fade, repeat the exercise as often as you need to.

As you move through the grieving process you will notice you are staying connected to the love within for longer and longer periods until you no longer need to – you will be connected to it all the time. The great thing about this exercise is that it not only helps move us faster through the

stages of healing from heartbreak but puts is in stronger and healthier position for our next relationship. When we understand that the love we feel for another person is the love we always carry inside, then we know that the loss of a relationship cannot take that love from us. Healing a broken heart takes time – but it begins within.
