Ghosts of Imelda's Jewelry in the AAG.
Locked in the vaults of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas are three jewelry collections seized from Imelda Marcos after the family fled into exile in 1986. Using photos, Pio Abad and Frances Wadsworth Jones digitally recreated in resin the form of a stunning Belle Epoque diamond tiara in platinum, probably crafted by Cartier. Its estimated value in 2015 could fund for the treatment of 12,052 cases of tuberculosis. More in 2022 for sure.
Ongoing at the A...

My Inquirer column today is still on Globe's lousy customer service. It seems that, like government transactions, you need to know someone in Globe to get prompt attention. I don't know why we put up with this---things don't have to be the way they are.
Fortunately, there are exceptions like Makati Medical Center where staff are attentive, caring and seem to have pride in their jobs.

ILOILO is one of my favorite cities.
Spent the weekend there enjoying its good food, lots of heritage, and meeting up with two Ilonggo collectors who shared their treasures during my visit: MARIO YANG (Top Right) who has everything from pre-Spanish artifacts, colonial religious imagery to Philippine paintings; and ARSENIO RAFAEL (Bottom Right) whose Metro Ilolo Modern Arts Park has a seven-storey stairwell filled with contemporary Philippine paintings and sculptures.
Now that I have wings (Left...
