This week I will check if the World War 2 cannon hidden inside the walls of Intramuros, near the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, is still there. Has it been disarmed? It points in the direction of the Rizal Monument.

This is a wood carving of the Baptism of Christ as featured in our exhibition, Intertwined: Transpacific, Transcultural Philippines. 🕊️

The exhibition features many ecclesiastical objects that was a result of Spanish conquest and conversion, and how images of Christ, the Virgin Mary, and other Christian symbols such as the cross, chalice, and monstrance replaced pre-colonial forms.

Last week I took the PBB Housemates on a tour of the Ayala Museum. They got 8/9 of the Philippine History quiz correctly not so much because I am a good teacher, but because they were immersed in a museum experience. (You can catch a replay of last Friday's episode on various channels).
