Friday Field Trip — A Peek at the Peak
I’m at the Left Coast Crime Conference in Colorado Springs. Since it’s Colorado, I thought I’d share some pictures of our view of Pikes Peak. These were all taken from the same spot on the road toward our town, Divide. (Some people will say this is the ‘back’ of Pikes Peak. I prefer to call it “our” side.)
Have a great weekend everyone!

To Market, To Market
Today, I’m on my way to the Left Coast Crime conference, and I’m blogging at The Blood-Red Pencil. My topic over there is what authors are doing to help each other out in this crazy new world of publishing where so much time has to be spent on “non-writing” endeavors. Hope you’ll pop over and join the conversation.

Dated or Lexicon?
Last week, I submitted a chapter of my current manuscript to my crit partners, and one of them responded that she had trouble with a reference, even though I thought it was in context.
Here’s the setup. Jinx, who’s an intel gatherer for Blackthorne, Inc. and has no experience in the field, finds himself in the jungles of Mexico, escaping from the cartels. Since it’s romantic suspense, of course there...

St. Patrick’s Day in N. Ireland
My daughter lives in Northern Ireland, and a couple of years ago, she shared what St. Patrick’s Day is like over there. I thought I’d repeat that post today, so if you have plans for a “genuine” Irish celebration, you’ll have time to prepare. It’s NOT corned beef and cabbage.
St. Patrick’s Day is truly a world-wide holiday, and here in Northern Ireland we celebrate with the best of ‘em. Belfast puts on a big...

What’s Cooking Wednesday — Guinness Chocolate Cake
St. Patrick’s Day is this weekend, and no, I’m not sharing a recipe for corned beef and cabbage. Why? Because the Irish don’t eat corned beef and cabbage. More of that tomorrow when I’ll share what St. Patrick’s day is like in Northern Ireland, where my daughter lives.
Today, I thought I’d share her recipe for her Guinness chocolate cake, which ori...
