How To Draw Beautiful… fini!
The Beautiful book is done. Finished it yesterday, made revisions today and will proof tonight, then it's off to the printer. This will be the 3rd book in the series. There will be 5 total, then a TPB that may come with a bonus chapter, if I can get it done in time.
Look for this beauty in stores in March.

Rachel Rising #6 is done!
I finished Rachel Rising #6 this morning and sent it to the printer who almost immediately sent back a proof, which I checked and approved and now it's moved to the production line and will ship this weekend. (Brenner Printing in San Antonio —who printed all of Echo and now Rachel Rising— has always been very good to work with. I recommend them to any indie publishers.)
So, hang on, the next chapter is on the way. You might want to mark your calendars and see long it takes to get a print book from me to you. Seems to be anywhere from 2-4 weeks. By book standards, that's very fast. But by "hit a button and it's posted" standards it's a long time, isn't it?
ComicsPRO
I'm off to Dallas this weekend to attend the retailer summit that is ComicPRO. Some 150 retailers from around the galaxy are estimated to be there to take the pulse of the business, compare notes and find common goals for 2012. I'd like to be included in their plans, so I'll be there to pitch my books and show my support.
If you're a retailer attending the event, please feel free to say hi and introduce yourself. I'm all ears when it comes to talking about my books and how to get them into as many reader's hands as possible.

Rachel Rising TPB: The Shadow of Death on Amazon
You can now order the first Rachel Rising TPB: The Shadow Of Death, at Amazon for early discount. It ships next month, March. I encourage you to order from them if a store is not convenient, because we want Amazon to like Rachel. Please post any good reviews you may have on Rachel, or any of my books there. It really helps with ratings and my future ability to list new books there in the future. Thanks!

My official Facebook page launch
Just (re)launched my "official" Facebook page. This is a fanpage where I will be able to stay in touch with the FB community. If you're a Facebook regular, please "Like" my page to get your daily feed.
I'll place the FB icon on my blog page here as soon as I figure out how to insert the HMTL without crashing the world wide web. Last time I crashed the world wide web, people got mad at me—I actually got a stern letter from Google. Oh my.

First Look—Rachel Rising 8 cover art!
Literally just finished drawing this for the Diamond Previews solicitation, March catalog. This book will ship in May, unless that tree gets me, too.
Sweet dreams.
While we're at this full disclosure thing, here is the ad that will run for the same catalog:
Welcome to ComiXology
—Chip Mosher,
ComiXology
Thanks, Chip. It's going to be a great year!
Going to Torino, Italy Comic Festival
It's official: I will be a guest at the Torino Comics festival, April 13-15 —in Torino, Italy. Watch here for more information as the date approaches.
Torino and San Diego Comic Con are my only two confirmed convention dates for 2012. A third festival is in the negotiation stage, and the three dates, hopefully, will be the whole of my appearances for the year. This was the plan after hitting the convention circuit so heavy for the last 2-3 years. I want to spend the extra time this year getting my digital publishing on track.

Why I've signed with ComiXology
I've signed with ComiXology to make my comics available digitally. This weekend I'll be prepping SIP for them. I'd like to get Rachel Rising to them ASAP as well.
Don't misunderstand me as abandoning print. That's not the case at all. I'm adding this to the mix, not replacing anything. For me, digital is another retail outlet. I want—I NEED—to be on your iPad, and ComiXology is the way to do that. I'm very happy to work with them and I'm happy they want to carry my work.
Because I have a larger readership than my direct market figures suggest, I constantly hear from readers about the difficulty in finding my books. That's not good. Today, in the age of iPad, new readers are practically demanding I get my digital act together. And they're right. It's time. I leave you with my latest readers's story. This is from Aaron in Massachusetts. I couldn't agree with him more.
Add me to the list of those who really hope Rachel Rising will be going digital as soon as possible. The current Direct Market is thoroughly broken, in my opinion. I work in Framingham, MA, and there simply is no comic shop worthy of the name here. I read only a few books a month, but your comics have always been among them. The problem is availability. I went to Bedrock Comics today, asked about Rachel Rising #5, and was told that they only ordered two copies, and both were pre-orders. The shopkeeper said when the book first came out, he ordered more, based on track record, but they didn't sell. I simply don't have the time to go searching around, and I don't buy enough comics to warrant a pull list. I'm not sure what the problem is that there "isn't a single penny" for you with digital, but I'd buy PDFs straight from this site if I could. Unfortunately, I can't justify $6.99 plus shipping for a comic. How many others are there in my position? How many more issues could you sell, if only they were available to purchase? Is the problem piracy? Conversion costs? Honestly, a bit of piracy would probably be a good thing for Rachel Rising, because it would get the title into more people's hands, build more buzz.
There is something profoundly wrong with the distribution system when a title from a leading creator can't be found at a comic store in a major metropolitan area. I can't see how digital would be any worse for you, and it would be a lot better for me (and I'm betting plenty of others). I want to support your work, but it shouldn't be this difficult.
