This Weekend in Calgary

Robyn and I head for Calgary on Friday for this weekend’s Calgary Comic & Entertainment Expo.  A lot of great creators lined up for this show. It’s going to be fun.

I have been debating whether or not to take original art for sale to this convention. If you’re going to attend and are interested in buying a page of art, let me know. I get nervous carrying around 50 pages of originals all weekend, so I’d rather not if there’s no need. Prices on originals are $425 a page for story art, $1,000 for a

Sad to report we won’t be publishing the SiP Omnibus this...

Sad to report we won’t be publishing the SiP Omnibus this year. With the economy affecting all my business partners—shops and distributor—it’s just not the right time for an expensive collection, no matter how cool. Pick your moments, as they say. And although I have the book near completion, now is not a good time for my partners to try and commit to a $150 book. I’ll have to wait. Thing is, we let the trades go out of print, anticipating the pocket edition in its softcover format as the replac

Echo doesn’t fire blanks… pages that is

I’ve heard from one reader whose copy of Echo 11 has 4 blank pages in the story. That’s not right. These things happen from time to time, obviously a printing press goof. All copies of 11 I’ve seen here at the studio are good. But, if you have a copy with blank pages, you can return it to your local comics shop (if you bought it there) or directly to us for a replacement copy. If you haven’t bought your copy yet, check the pages… should be Art Gone Wild on every page.

Echo 14 already?!

So, you may be looking for Echo 11, but I know you have this one—issue 14— right?

Kidding.

Just put together the cover for the July issue—#14—thought you’d like to see it. So, maybe you see this and think: hey, where did all the extra alloy come from?  *smile*  You’re about to find out.

Echo 11 where arrrre you?

In the old days when dragons wore skates and damsels poured beer from goblin ears, new comic books would be  picked up at one of several big printing companies, ride in trucks across the nation, and appear in comic shops the following Wednesday.  This was the way without fail for years. Things have changed a bit now, but I think it may be temporary. Echo 11 was picked up last Monday, hit the road as usual, but did it appear in any stores this week? … eh, I don’t know. There is only one distribut
