Teen Book Drop is going on until Wednesday, the school libraries need more graphic novels.

I'm still waiting for the insurance adjuster to okay the repairs for the accident. I really hope this gets over with soon.

Boosting the signal: [info:] queenoftheskies is going to be posting an SF/F novel for donations, so she can make her May rent money while she's interviewing for new jobs and waiting for California to send her unemployment check. Her family may be evicted if she can't raise the $500 rent money. This is one of those situations where if a lot of people donate a few dollars, you can really help a fan/aspiring writer in need. The profile page of the LJ where the novel will posted is here, with the...

I got to answer a question in SF Signal's Mind Meld, on the best Sword and Sorcery stories.

Got called by the insurance adjuster, and then took the car to get an estimate. (Finding the place was interesting, but once I stopped following what I thought the directions were and started following the actual directions, I got there.) I need two new bumpers, basically, and now we wait to see if the insurance company will okay the work.

National Library Week

Called the insurance company, reported the accident, gave them the number of the police report. So now we'll just wait and see. I know there can be delayed consequences from being slammed into like that, but I don't feel hurt or sore anywhere this morning. I work out regularly, so my back and shoulders are in pretty good shape, so maybe that helps. It's just my hands and feet where I have all the problems; fortunately I didn't squeeze the steering wheel or ram my hand into anything, so I ...

Okay, I know we've been having a run of bad luck, but this is getting crazy. The water pump on Troyce's nineteen year old pick-up broke yesterday, so we dropped it off at the garage early this morning, and I took him to work. Coming back, not far from home, I was at a light behind a van with a trailer, with a small pick-up behind me, and a large SUV behind the pick-up. Then a car came along, didn't stop, and hit the SUV. The bang was huge, and I looked up into the mirror into time to see ...
