Words of Comfort: Take hold of the Law.

As a Christian, you need not dread the Law. If you are in Christ, the Law will not fall upon you (see Rom. 8:1). So take hold of it and do what Jesus did in Mark 10:17. Let the world know that lust is adultery in God's sight (see Matt. 5:27,28), and that a holy God considers hatred to be murder (see 1 John 3:15). When we cast down the rod of the Law (as Moses cast down his rod), it helps to convince the lost that the gospel of salvation is from God. Once they are "convinced of the Law as tran...

Words of Comfort: Waited for honor.

"Joseph, who was to be only a servant to Pharaoh, was preferred at thirty years old; but Moses, who was to be a god to Pharaoh, was not so dignified till he was eighty years old. It is fit he should long wait for such an honor, and be long in preparing for such a service." John Wesley

Words of Comfort: Inability.

An awareness of a lack of eloquence is a virtue in the Kingdom of God. Those who are conscious of their own inability are the ones who will pray that God helps them. They will rely on the Lord rather than on their own talents.

Words of Comfort: A crown in the end.

"Few things do so much harm in religion as exaggerated expectations. People look for a degree of worldly comfort in Christ's service which they have no right to expect, and not finding what they look for, are tempted to give up religion in disgust. Happy is he who thoroughly understands, that though Christianity holds out a crown in the end, it brings also a cross in the way." J. C. Ryle

Words of Comfort: We can speak!

When God commissioned Moses, he said that he wasn't eloquent, but He assured him that He would be with Moses and would give him the words to say (v. 6). This is the same promise God gave to Jeremiah when he argued that he couldn't speak (see Jer. 1:8,9). You and I have the same assurance from God today.

Words of Comfort: Justly condemned.

"All men are under the Law by nature, and consequently they are condemned by it because they have broken its commands; and apart from our Lord Jesus men are only reprieved criminals, respited from day to day, but still under sentence and waiting for the appointed hour when the warrant shall be solemnly executed upon them." Charles Spurgeon

Words of Comfort: Beautiful feet.

God told Moses to take off his shoes because he wa standing on holy ground. That same Creator has made us holy in Christ. We have our "beautiful" feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace, so that we can take the message of salvation to those who stand on unholy ground (see Rom. 10:15; Eph. 6:15).

Words of Comfort: Jefferson

America has lost its fear of God and one result of godlessness is that millions of unborn children have been murdered through abortion. "The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the sole legitimate object of good government." Thomas Jefferson

Words of Comfort: 114-word sentence.

A skeptic asked: "Which one's a bigger fool Ray? The person who rationalizes and decides to do things for himself like ask questions, critically analyze things, do research and use scientific methods in order to figure out things in life or the person that blindly listens to every word of a 2000 year old shepherd's journal written in the bronze age of a superstitious era by a collaboration of sheep herders that claims to have all the answers to every possible question imaginable which in fact...

Words of Comfort: Other gods.

A skeptic asked: "The First Commandment says, 'You shall have no other gods before Me' -- that proves He isn't the only God!"

Ray answered: There are millions of false gods (Hinduism has hundreds of millions). Man gravitates towards idols--"other gods" (which he makes with his hands or with his mind), because they don't demand moral accountability.
