Words of Comfort: Condoning rape?

I was speaking at UC Berkeley back in November of 2012, when an atheist stepped up to the open microphone and said that the God I believed in condoned rape. He pointed to Deuteronomy 22:28--29 where, according to him, if a man raped a woman all he had to do was pay a fine and then marry her. He was angry. This proved that the God of Christianity despised women and was therefore a tyrannical misogynist:
“If a man find a damsel that is a virgin, which is not betrothed, and lay hold on her, and l...

Words of Comfort: Learning through painting.

I’m learning a lot through painting. First on the learning curve is that God is a million times more incredible that I even imagined. Likeness is amazing. It hides in the eyes. It lies in the tiny curve of a lip.
If I struggle to get a likeness, I leave it overnight and I’m amazed that the next day it’s as though I see it through different eyes. I can spot the problem is a second.
I wonder how many poor souls have taken their lives at night, when the darkness that surrounded them would have bee...

Words of Comfort: Planned Parenthood.

"Planned Parenthood is actually a wonderful resource center that offers more than just abortions. I assume you all know that by reading up on its history and purpose." Dave Cargo
Adolf Hitler restored German dignity, provided jobs for the unemployed, gave us the wonderful Volkswagen, and the autobahn. He didn't just kill Jews.
No doubt atheists will say that Hitler was a Christian. See my book, Hitler, God, and the Bible for his beliefs and for his contempt for Christianity.
Pho...

Words of Comfort: Don't be deceived.

“Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,  nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). See www.needGod.com

Words of Comfort: Who was Jesus?

Who was Jesus of Nazareth?
Most don’t know this: “God was manifested in the flesh, Justified in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Preached among the Gentiles, Believed on in the world, Received up in glory” (1 Timothy 3:16)

Words of Comfort: Pro-life and the death penalty.

“Amazing how many pro-lifers support the death penalty.” Waldon Yap
This is because we greatly value human life. If you take someone's life, you should pay for it with your own.  You may believe that if someone rapes your mother and slits her throat, that he should be given bed and breakfast and free health care for the rest of his life. But some of us don't.  Remove the death sentence and murders will always increase drastically, because there is no fear of punishment. There ha...

Words of Comfort: Christianity isn't dead.

"I said to myself if Christianity is dead, I will sit at its tomb and will weep until it arises again, just as Mary Magdalene sat at the tomb of Jesus and wept until Jesus showed Himself. Then when I came out of prison I saw Christianity is not dead. The number of practicing Christians in Rumania according to the figures given by the Communists themselves in 20 years of Communist dictatorship  has grown 300 percent." -Richard Wurmbrand

Words of Comfort: Christ or the world.

"A whole new generation of Christians has come up believing that it is possible to 'accept' Christ without forsaking the world." A.W. Tozer

Words of Comfort: You can't make them think!

"Anyone with a bit of common sense can tell Ray's video is just pure nonsense." Pat Conway
When “Evolution Vs. God” went up on YouTube, atheists were furious.  If it was “pure nonsense” they should have been happy because anyone with common sense would see that. But they weren’t, and there’s a good reason for their indignation.
I wrote a book once called, You Can Lead an Atheist to Evidence But You Can’t Make Him Think.  Atheists were furious about that too.  It knocked Rich...

Words of Comfort: Drier than a ten year-old peanut butter sandwich.

"I would start with Origin of Species and read the 1000+ books written on the topic since then. How many books prove God? Oh right, one."
You will read another thousand and not find proof for evolution. The whole belief rests on faith. I read every page of Origin of Species and it was drier than a ten year-old peanut butter sandwich. The Bible doesn't prove God. It doesn't need to. We know that God exists because of the incredible order of Nature and our God-given conscienc...
