Choosing Not to Write

I am choosing not to write today. Which a bit ironic because here I am writing about not writing.

It is bizarre really. Writing about not writing should take all of one sentence. That first one, in fact. Which is really what I was going to do. I was going to write that I was not going to write. Making Animated .gif Files [1]

I know they are out of vogue, but making animated GIFs is fun.

There was a time when animated GIFs were all the rage. Everybody wanted to make them. And if you had a blog or some other place to put them (like Twitter now), all the more fun. People would ooh and aah at the wonder of it all. Animation! Cool!

Now, if you make an animated GIF, people just laugh and say, “That is so last century.” Then, they post them on Twitter.

Personally, I like animated GIFs. Or at least I like using them...

Irony

It is ironic that I posted my musing about having a large writing inventory when my inventory was low. Or at least lower than it was when I originally wrote it.

I love irony. (My friend Mike would love it if I loved ironing. But that is a much different word. And story.) I love when the words you say (or write) are the opposite of what you mean. I even love it when this happens by accident.

Writing Inventory

I have not been in the position much, but I have enough writing inventory for my blog that I can make choices.

One of the interesting things about writing a weekly blog is that I have this self-imposed deadline. I release my blog on Saturday, but I put it out there early on social media on Thursdays (#ThursdayThoughts). Then I actually repost again on Monday (#MondayBlogs). I am not much of a self-promoter so I figure a couple posts of essentially the same link is not too much of a big deal....

Forty Chess Games!

I like to play chess, but nobody at my home really likes to play in person, so I play online at chess.com. Usually three-day matches. That is, each player gets three days to make a move. One of my friends coined a new term the other day. Loving Criticism. Mike said it was what he does with me when he mentions my writing in conversations or makes fun of me. I think it really means that he loves to criticize.

Taking Pictures

It has been quite the summer for pictures. And I had lots of fun taking pictures of the cars and boats at the La Conner Classic Boat and Car Show.

I am not the greatest photographer (or writer for that matter), but I like to take pictures (and write).
