Way. Too. Much. FUN.
I just got back from LDS Storymakers this past weekend, and what a BLAST! Riot! I learned so much, was reminded of so many things I'd forgotten, had my writer batteries recharged, and got to chat with and hang out with my wonderful writer friends in real life instead of in tiny-picture-mode.
Here's a few highlights!
I went down a day early and spent almost THE WHOLE TIME with this resplendent lady. I love her! Have you ever had an Anne of Green Gables bosom friend where you just click and mesh...

Book Review and GIVEAWAY!

Time for a book review!! Kelley Lynn and Jenny Morris's book ROAD TO SOMEWHERE just came out!
I read this in one sitting, guys, just gobbled it up! I was a little worried because I had a hard time following all the characters that were introduced in the opening chapter, but by the end of chapter two I was hooked!
A Texas ranch was a great setting for the story. One of my favorite things when I'd visited Texas had been how hospitable and kind people were, and that was captured perfectly in this...

What's Up Wednesday
I've seen these posts around for a while and I'm finally deciding to join in the fun! They're so cute, and I love to bop around and see what everyone is up to! Jaime Morrow and Erin L. Funk started this weekly blog hop to help encourage others on their writing journey. Thanks, ladies!
WHAT I'M READING
I just started The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. I haven't gotten too far into it, but I loved the opening! I have also been listening to a series of books by Elizabeth Peters called the A...

Take Some Time Off!
Recently I pulled out a story I haven't looked at in over a year. A mega awesome YA Rom Com with funny characters, heart-warming friendships and knee-knocking kisses. I queried it, but didn't find any success, and moved on to other stories in the meantime.
Here are some things I've found very interesting about coming back to a project after not even glancing at it in 12 months:
1. I still loved my story and thought it was FUNNY (I made myself laugh out loud, at things I'd forgotten were even in...

How Far is Too Far?
I was about to head to bed, but I can't do it without saying something.
I'm incredibly disturbed tonight. And you might call it trivial. You might say, "it's just real," or "it's just fiction." But is it really *just* fiction? Or is it a reflection of the world today, the failing standards of our media, our society?
I don't mean to get all heavy and focus on *issues* and you'll probably laugh when I tell you the cause of this.
But I was seriously disturbed by the latest episode of Downton Abbey...

Audible, Anyone?
Anyone feel like this lately?
We've just bought a house -- cue, "YAY!!!!" -- and are going through the fun of remodeling and fixing up and painting. And I want it all done RIGHT NOW. And I have a book I'm revising that I want to have done RIGHT NOW. And I just got a new idea driving me with it's awesomeness to be written down, and I want to do it RIGHT NOW. And I'm trying to play and work with my kids and juggle all these different things RIGHT NOW.
Definitely learning some time management skil...
