HEALTH & BEAUTY STYLE: Welcome home Mr. Klein!
I don’t buy the same perfume all the time, I find it doesn’t smell the same every time I get a new bottle. It not only smells different coming out of the bottle but on my skin, which is why I rarely go back a second time, which means constantly finding something new to buy.
Of course the perfumes I pick have to appeal to my senses. I prefer fruity, slightly spicy mixes, light and fragrant, not heavy and suffocating. So, Calvin Klein came home.
I’ve been through Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, Incanto Dreams and Let It Rock by Vivienne Westwood which is really nice, and now I’ve chosen Mr Klein to be the next in line.
I have a few more lined up for this year so my tastes will be all over the place. Tell me, what are you currently spraying?

FASHION STYLE: Cardigans. The great winter alternative to jumpers and coats.
It’s funny. I wasn’t sure what to name this post as anything I came up with made it sound like I would be showing you where to find and buy cardigans for winter. This post isn’t that, in fact, I very rarely do posts about something current then let you know about it because I’m sure you can track down whatever it is you’re after yourself.
These cardis are all mine, and I’m simply talking cardigans for winter.
A great alternative to jumpers and thick coats, although a coat can be worn over a cardi depending on its thickness and whether you need to layer because you’ll be out in the cold all day or all night.
Mine are from a few places and on sale as I rarely pay full price unless the full price is disgustingly cheap, lol.
Last year was a particularly good year for buying cardigans. I got four of them.
Top Left: Glitter stripe, $20 from Lesley’s bought in 2014 | Middle: Soft rose pink (which never comes up as pink because my camera keeps making pink red), $15 from Millers bought in 2011 | Top Right: Red Glitter stripe free from an op shop from the 90s.
Bottom Left: Pink Aztec, $29.95 from Valley Girl in 2013 | Middle: Black and White $12 from Millers in 2014. | Bottom Right: Green stripe shrug cardi, $36 from Ice in 2014.
I also managed to score a Missoni Cardi jacket from Target drastically reduced to $40 just before xmas last year.
Of course it also helps to have a bunch of funky hats, scarves and sunglasses in matching colours to go with my cardis so I can try out different styles every time I wear them.
I also have a lightweight throw-over pink one that has a matching studded tank top, and two handmade coloured ones that I’ll show you next week, so that makes 10 in total.
Have you guys got cardis and will you be wearing or layering them come winter?

ACCESSORY STYLE: Australia’s Night of Nights, The Logie Awards
Australia’s night of night’s, The Logies, was on last Sunday night and I, as a jewellery lover, was once again extremely disappointed in the fact there was next to no jewels on the night.
It was either earrings, OR, a necklace, OR, bracelets, OR, rings, but rarely, if any, all together.
The other issue about the Logies is that there must have been a memo go around to get your tits/boobies/fun bags/jugs out and on display because at least 95% of the females showed them off as their own accessories. Low cut, pushed up and out, it was an atrocious display of “look at moi”. You may as well have written it across your chest but let’s have a look at the only decent jewels on the night.
Lots of bracelet and funky looking multi finger rings
Earrings, for those that wore them were on the big side, mainly studs, and very bejewelled.
I think the Housewives of Melbourne wore the most jewellery amongst themselves, as well as fake tan and copious cans of hairspray.

ACCESSORY STYLE: Awesome jewels made for awesome clothes
I love being able to make jewels to go with my clothes. Considering the amount of printed tops I have there will always be some sort of funky unusual print in need of matching jewels.
Just as with my pineapple top and jewels, or my zodiac tank and bracelet stack, I love being able to dig into my bead boxes and scour eBay for some pendants to make what I need, such as these pink high heels to match my top.
I found two huge keyrings and some small heel charms on eBay, added some earring hooks and gold bracelets and there you have it.
Next up are my perfume bottle tops that I needed jewels for.
After finding some perfume bottle necklaces and charms, plus a couple of coloured crystal bracelets on eBay, plus doing some shopping in a local chain store where I got grey crystal necklaces for $3.33 each, I was able to combine pink and black beads together so I had a set I could wear with either top.
Then we move on to the owl top I got just before xmas last year. The first time I wore it I used mum’s jewellery that I made her, but over easter I managed to get together my own set.
Thankfully, I had two silver owl bracelets in my kit and pulled off the owls, turning the two biggest into earrings and adding the smaller ones onto four different bead bracelets that I made and then I added a disco ball for some extra sparkle.
I dug out the gold owl necklace and ring I already had and that made up the rest of the set. While it may not look like it, the top’s print is silver and gold, so the mixed metals in the set will go well with the top and each other.
What jewels have you guys made lately to go with your clothes?

HOME & DÉCOR STYLE: Finding the right cushions for your life
Have you ever gone in search of bed cushions and were overwhelmed by what was out there?
I have been. There are so many stores with so many sizes and colours and styles of cushions it was like, “what the hell”.
In the end it comes down to buying what you love the minute you see it. The tropical print, the parrot, the pineapples, the mixed fruit or a simple plain colour. Of course it’s also a matter of what colour and style your bedroom and linen are as to what cushions you buy.
For me I love pink and blue with some tropical thrown in (although I’m still hunting down a good tropical cushion) and so will only stick to certain colours, making it easier to find something to buy.
I ended up in Harvey Norman before xmas and found the three pink pillows. Sadly, they only had the one sparkle pink and no blue in the geometric shape so I took what I could get and got them all on sale.
I also saw the amazing Rapee floral pillows but at $75 each were so out of my budget it was ridiculous. When I asked a floor assistant he said he could do $50 each. I left them there.
A few months later I found one floral pillow in Spotlight and nabbed it. Not only was it cheaper over all at $39.99, but they all had an extra 30% off so I couldn’t leave it there.
For me, as much as I’d love a bunch of different cushions (there’s a whole pile of funky unusual shape and print cushions in big plastic bags stuffed in the corner of the room that don’t see the light of day) the issue is where do you put them at the end of the day when you get in bed? Mine get put on a roller container that’s beside mine and full of what’s left of my music and cd collection, since I leave the bed to air all day it rarely gets made so the cushions rarely go on.
How bad is that?
On top of that, I believe in cutting and culling back my life so only good cushions that I fall madly in love with will be coming home from now on, especially those in pinks and blues.
How many cushions do you guys have on your bed, or do you even have any?
