FASHION STYLE: The Fabulously Glamorous Miss Phryne Fisher, recap 4
Last week Phryne only had a couple of outfits, and as per this season so far, some of the clothes were recycled, particularly, the trench coat and matching hat. It seems Phryne is using it quite often.
The show started with Phyrne just coming in after a long party from the night before. A beaded black gown and headpiece started the show in spectacular style and you can see it in detail in the middle pic. The next day she rocked up to the investigation in simple black pants, a spotted blouse and her trench and hat.
Next up we had an olive/beige toned outfit of pants, simple cami top and gorgeous beaded kimono coat. Sadly, she threw her horrid trench on over it, and mysteriously, even though it was the same outfit and the same day, her necklace kept disappearing and re-appearing.

Even though this episode was about the murder of young boys there was also mention of plastic surgery, some of the earliest in this country, and how it could help war veterans. The pic below is disturbing and freaked me out when I saw it so be warned. He’s missing his eyeball!
MY PERSONAL COLLECTION: Pink earrings I’ve waited five years for plus new clothes
I first saw these earrings in Lovisa about five years ago. I desperately wanted them but at $24.95 I couldn’t afford them straight out. And sadly, I only saw them the one time.
The next time I went back, about two weeks later, they were gone and there was none left hiding in any cupboards.
Fast forward five years and I came across a pair on eBay. The first time I’d seen them since I was in Lovisa five years ago. They were being sold with another pair of earrings I already had but I didn’t care, so for $10 with postage, I bought them and awaited their arrival.
They are gorgeous, with antique gold backing and diamontes, I decided to add a bit of extra sparkle since some of the pink stones had small scratches, so painted on some clear glitter nail polish. I still can’t believe I finally have them.
The next piece of pink jewellery is a necklace I’ve had my eye on since last year. I um-ed and ah-ed over whether to buy this or not because I hate seed beads but decided last year to get not one but two. I then decided to put them together to add bulk to the necklace. Thankfully one is a bit shorter than the other so it also adds layers.
Onto the latest end of summer/autumn sale clothes for bargain prices. The first two summer pants are from Millers of course. The pair on the left being just $5, the middle just $10. The star pants are from Best & Less for $8.
The good thing about pink is I have a lot of it, so these pants go with multiple tops in my wardrobe.

FASHION STYLE: The Fabulously Glamorous Miss Phryne Fisher, recap 3
Last week was the third episode of season 3 of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and we’re almost back to the glamorous Phryne of past seasons.
She started with a blouse, pants and coat from a previous season, followed by a gorgeous black beaded gown and fur stole. Then we had a black pant suit and red lined purple velvet coat. Hats are also a must this season fro Miss Fisher.
Then came a check blouse jacket and pants, again with the fur stole, a GLAM.OR.OUS red embroidered black coat over a simple black silky dress with fringing along the top, and to end the night she was back in black with pants, top and beaded over blouse.

HOME & DÉCOR STYLE: What Type of Wall Art Are You?
I’ve been buying stuff for decades and want to show it off but unfortunately the house I live in is not mine and I cannot put too much up, so wall art like this is perfect.
I’ve mentioned the stick on/peel off stars and flamingo lights before but now I’ve added these funky 3-D prints of London and Paris.
There was a New York one but the overall colours didn’t look as good and I really didn’t want a McDonald’s logo in my print. As I love pinks and blues I went with these.
Now the good thing is I used the stick on/pull off hooks, as I did for the flamingoes, and you just pull the sticky tab down when it’s time to remove the hook and off it comes without taking the paint with it.
They’re similar to the Command hooks but I bought them from the discount store. The good thing is, they hold different weights and are different sizes so I managed to find the right ones for the prints. So far so good.

FASHION STYLE: Cardigans. What 20 balls of wool made!
Early last year I found the perfect wool in a discount store. It was a combination of my two favourite colours, pink and blue, so I bought 13 balls of it.
Now we all know that 13 is unlucky, but they were the only ones in the store at the time so home they came. A week later, I bought 7 more.
In May or June of last year, mum started knitting what was going to be my cardi, sadly, this got waylaid after she fell over and cracked her skull, ending up in hospital for a week and sick for months after so the cardi only just got finished a couple of months ago.
We had enough wool left over to make a matching scarf, and she is currently crocheting a lap blanket with what’s left. Amazing what you can get out of 20 balls of wool.
I found the perfect buttons as well, silver glitter stars.
Now this is not the first thing mum had knitted for me. As a kid I got many a jumper and another cardi way back in 1990.
When mum heard what I wanted she told me I would never wear it. I lived in it every winter for years. How wrong people can be. I love music and got her to stitch a star and treble clef on the back and music notes on the right sleeve. I stitched on gold stars on the left sleeve and sequinned stars and music things on the front. I love the colours, they’re the ones I wanted and it will remain with me the rest of my life cause this baby’s going nowhere.

FASHION STYLE: The Fabulously Glamorous Miss Phryne Fisher, recap 2
In last weeks episode of Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries there was only three outfits as the murder/treason only played out across two days.
The first was a simple cami and pant suit with a gorgeous velvet coat, topped off with matching hat and gloves. I do like coats like this and have recently bought my own Miss Fisher inspired opera coat I’ll give you all a look at sometime during the series.
The second was a black pant and top suit topped with a glamorous coat and hat. The third outfit was simple black evening pants with a gold knit/crocheted over top and black under top.
