ENSURING EMPLOYMENT FOR A 600 MILLION Workforce
With the workforce estimated to reach 600 million by 2022 as per the NSDC EY report on “Future of Jobs in India”, most job portals existing today, will be able to cater to only 20% of this population which accounts for the White-collar workforce. In a country dominated by informal workforce, job portals have evolved only for the white-collar workforce and the disparity among White, Blue, and Grey collared jobs is staggering and quite highly unresolved. The job engagement for White Collared workforce has been digitalized rapidly in the last 2 decades. Low cost smartphone revolution and wide network connectivity have made it easier to bridge the gap between opportunities and job seekers.
Pursuant to a 2012 report of the Committee on Unorganised Sector Statistics, National Statistical Commission, the unorganized or the informal sector account for more than 90 percent of the workforce in the country and almost 50 percent of the national income evolves from this sector. Not much has changed since then. As per the International Labour Organisation report of 2018, the informal sector jobs accounted for 81% of all employed persons in India.
The biggest issue faced by the informal job market is the lack of structured job information that could be easily accessible. Both jobseekers and employers are unaware of where one can find suitable opportunities nearby whilst the other struggles to find suitable candidates near the workplace. Both stakeholders rely heavily on references and contractors to fulfill their requirements, which is followed by a very time consuming & expensive process, resulting in business losses to employers & idle months without a job or accepting unfavourable job roles by the job seekers.
Finding the right job near you is easier than ever due to formal platforms for the informal workforce. Sushant Shekhar, Co-founder of Kaam24 says, “Prior to networks like Jio and low- cost smartphones came to the picture, we helped jobseekers digitize their profile by using ground-level strategies like sidewalk posters to rikshaw announcement, field agents, auto-rickshaw/ e-rickshaw branding and advertisements in Ramleela, to name a few. We have left no stone unturned to tap into the right audience. We have managed to get even 60- year-old job-seekers hired while doing a hiring campaign for electricians and plumbers for Hyper Local service providers, and were able to provide predictable incomes, social security and healthcare benefits to thousands of informal workers.”
Staffing companies such as Team Lease, Quess Corp, Addeco do cater to some Blue and Grey collared jobs, but even there, the focus is from the perspective of the big companies looking to hire staff, often in bulk. And MSMEs who recruit a major chunk of this class of job- seekers in India are left with no option except the traditional mode of hiring. To cater to such MSMEs, portals such as Kaam24, Work India, Quikr Jobs have started to reengineer this job market.
Unless reinventing steps are taken, the gap between Blue/Grey collared workforce and MSMEs will keep widening. It is an opportunity waiting for people to explore it.
Mayank Bansal, Co-founder of Kaam24 who looks into job seeker onboarding says that he could see the impact that their startup can possibly have on the livelihood of millions. He says, “On one of our job seeker onboarding sessions, we were conducting rikshaw announcements and handing out flyers when kids came and asked us what the announcements were for? We explained to him that if he knew anyone was on the lookout for a job, they could give us a missed call to download our app and apply for jobs without paying anything, he ran to his house continuously exclaiming “Mere PAPA ko fir se job mil jayegi”.
With over a million job seeker profiles digitized, Kaam24 is working its way up the ladder to reach digitize over 100 million jobseeker profiles over the course of next few years, while playing with latest technologies like Chatbots and AI to formalize the informal workforce in India. With numbers as high as 600 million, the scope of growth for this sector is yet untapped and requires not just in depth reach and spread, but also intensive costs.

Market Growth
Rentlite’s research pegs the global furniture rental market at anything between $5-8 billion. The idea of ownership has been superseded by the aspiration of better experiences by leasing or sharing resources.
The growth in mobility and intra-country migration has led to a large and ever-growing clientele of urban professionals with transferrable jobs and disposable income. In the last decade, leasing/renting of home durables has seen steep growth due to a streamlined market facilitated by digital marketing.
The global furniture market is dominated by domestic furniture accounting for 65% of production value. These consists of beds, closets, and other household furniture items. Followed by office furniture and hotel furniture accounting for 15% each. Office furniture consists of furniture used in corporate office, mainly tables and chairs, whereas hotel furniture is deployed in hotels and are very similar to household furniture with design and finesse. Lastly, furniture parts constitute 5% of production value which constitutes of table bases, closet doors, sofa legs, etc.
The furniture rental market is expected to grow at a robust rate over the next 5 years (2019-2024).
The primary factor responsible for the growth is an increase in the number of employers that are incorporating rental furniture into their corporate mobility policies as a core service offering. The practice of renting instead of purchasing furniture has proven to be beneficial for consumers because of lower price with reduced expense and maintenance which will drive the furniture rental market size. The industry is driven by wide ranging macroeconomic factors, such as the number of businesses operating domestically, the unemployment rate and the business sentiment index, all of which are expected to get better during that time frame. Growth in the number of businesses stimulates the demand for office furniture.
Moreover, as the unemployment rate falls, demand for office furniture is anticipated to rise, as businesses require furniture for new employees.

How To Get Started With Vlogging In 2019: First Steps
Vlogging had taken the internet by storm when it started over a decade ago, and YouTube has changed entirely since. Yes! It has been more than ten years.
Videoblogging or vlogging is not a new concept, and there are hundreds and thousands of vloggers on YouTube from all corners of the world. The competition is high, and the supply is increasing by the minute.
However, we still see a lot of people taking up vlogging and launching themselves on YouTube every single day.
In this article today, I am going to talk about how to get started with vlogging in 2019. I am goingto mention the very first steps that one needs to take while preparing for vlogging.
It is an exciting world from the outside, but then there are a few things to keep in mind too. Let’s talk about those, in this article today.
But before beginning, a couple of nostalgic lines which are absolutely irrelevant to this post, but I feel they are emotionally essential and hence, you’ll have to bear with me – just a little bit!
Tan Speaks, since 2009
If you are a regular reader of this blog, you must not have seen me around; have you?
There is a little tag in this blog, which reads, “Tan Speaks.” This tag has been here since this
blog was called Jagruti. It was the year 2009 when I first wrote on this blog.
In these ten years, things changed a lot. There were many ups and downs in my life, and a few
things changed on this blog too.
We were totally disconnected, until a sudden stroke of luck where I met Tushar a few months
ago in an event in Delhi.
WOW! It was awesome to meet after knowing each other for so many years. And we spoke
about the blog too. We had a good time.
I came back to the blog through a link to my posts (tag labeled) which Tushar shared and that
made me think that I should write again for Jagruti, which now, of course, is Tushar’s namesake
blog.
I wanted to write, and this is how I am starting. These days, I write regularly on my blog
www.TheIndianFreelancer.com on various other stuff, which may not be too similar to the
content of this blog, but a visit won’t harm. Check it out!
I hope that this article will reach the one who’s looking, and will be useful. So, without wasting
any more time, let’s get going.

What is Vlogging?
As we write articles and post them on our blogs, some people create videos and post them on
YouTube, Vimeo, Instagram, Facebook, or other social media platforms.
Publishing articles is called blogging, while publishing videos about self, in a casual manner, is
called vlogging or videoblogging.
Vlogging is essentially a shortened name given to videoblogging.
One can create videos on any toping and publish them as vlogs, but more often than not, vlogs
contain the vlogger talking directly on the camera, in a lot more casual way, and talk about their
day or an event.
What do you need to get started?
Well, the first things first. You need to choose the platform where you want to vlog. It can be a
single platform, like YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, or you can also publish the same vlog
(video) on multiple platforms if you choose to.
Once you know which platform you are targeting, you need to understand the dynamics of that
particular platform – how does it work, what are their policies, and how you can learn and
approach vlogging for that specific platform.
Note, that on YouTube, the audience prefers a 16:9 horizontal video while on Instagram or IGTV
you will find the portrait version or a vertical 9:16 video more often. On Facebook, on the other
hand, many still prefer a square or a 4:3 video.
Each platform is different, and you need to know about the one or many that you are interested
in.
Tan Says: most common video form factor accepted on multiple platforms is 16:9 landscape.
So, while starting, this should be the target.
What equipment is needed?
Now, once you have chosen the platform and have registered with it, it is time to start shooting.
But hold on! Where is the equipment?
You cannot just say, “I want to vlog” and get a video to upload! You will need equipment to
shoot and software to edit it, make it look fancy and really the next big thing on the internet,
right? Yes!
Consider each of your vlogs to have the potential to hit the sky!
Now, the essential equipment that you would need are as follows:
1. A decent camera to shoot yourself
2. A tripod to hold that camera
3. A microphone to help reduce the outside noise
4. Software to edit your clips
That is pretty much what you are going to need.
Now, you may want to use your mobile phone while you are starting if you do not have a DSLR
camera with you already.
Hand-held tripods are not very costly online. You may also want to check out a gimbal for
mobile phones if you have that extra cash to invest.
A microphone is a must if your phone’s (or DSLR’s) native mic is gathering too much of
background noise while shooting in outdoor conditions.
And finally, the software is needed to edit the clips that you shoot. I prefer to buy a well-known
and paid software, like Adobe Premiere, or Final Cut Pro (if you are on a Mac), or Camtasia to
edit your content.
I use my PC to do the post-processing of the raw clips, and I use Camtasia and Filmora to edit.
If I am on my phone, I use FilmoraGo, InShot, and KineMaster to edit clips. You may choose
one based on your needs.
Tan Says: Use your mobile phone to start with and buy a hand-held tripod and a generic
lapel mic. Together, they won’t cost more than rupees 500. And for the software, you may want
to check HitFilm, which is a free offering. These should be enough to get started.
How to prepare the content?
We, bloggers, know that nothing will be appreciated if the content is not good. How much ever
you decorate your blog, you must publish great content to attract readers.
The same is true for vloggers as well.
Ensure that the content is of excellent quality. Not only the things you talk about or discuss in
your video, but also the background, the editing, and the overall look and feel of your channel or
page, should be top-notch.
To prepare the content, write down the steps that you are going to follow.
If it is a travel vlog or an event vlog, you may start from where you are, either hotel or your
place, show the commute, show the area, talk about the site, introduce the event, and talk to a
few participants or passerby and that would be a great way to build a vlog.
You may also want to write down what you are going to talk about and from which location you
have already selected for the particular video.
Tan Says: Brainstorm the idea and try to cover every aspect of the subject (an event or a trip)
as much as possible. Don’t push yourself too much on this, though. Execution is the key, and
many from the audience will want to see your real self. So, keep it natural and spontaneous!
How to sustain vlogging?
Can a vlogger sustain by just vlogging?
Can someone earn the right amount of money by publishing vlogs on YouTube?
Well, these are tricky questions, and the vlogger himself may not know about it until the money
starts flowing in. But one thing that I can say from my experience is that, if you really want to
learn something and implement it, just go ahead and do so.
If you are passionate about vlogs or want to share your life with strangers from all over the world
and become friends, vlogging is for you. Do not worry about money. It will automatically come
when you are ready, and many people are watching your vlogs.
Tan Says: Vloggers earn a lot through the YouTube Partner Program once they grow. You
may also expect earnings through sponsored videos and product or service reviews. But for
now, if you are just starting, concentrate on the quality.
Final words
Well, with the above, we have finally come to the end of this post. I am thrilled that you read this
far and I want to thank you a lot.
Now, if I were to start vlogging now, in 2019, I would just use my phone to shoot, a holder or a
tripod to hold the phone securely when I walk around on uneven or all kinds of terrains and
cheap or freely available software.
I am a little conservative person, and I really want to get started as soon as I have learned about
the concepts. So, if you are ready, NOW is the time to start.
Do it fast!
That is all I have for this post. I hope you have found this helpful. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the comments. And I will see you in the next post. Until then, take care and keep reading.
Cheers!

Mayur Jugs - Quebec - Quality Steelware Collection
Founded in 1968, Mayur Jugs, manufactures a wide range steelware of great quality. Also, they also have a wide range of gift hampers which are quite popular in the festive season.
I recently got one of the gift sets which is named as Quebec most of the gift hampers are named after various regions of cities like Auckland.
Other gift items like Florence, Santorini, San Marino, bring different values and products to the consumers. The best thing is that they are available in a wide price range. So if someone wants to gift someone, something, can pick according the exact budget in mind.
I think that really impressed the carton in which the stuff game was of study quality and items were damaged in transit as I got it through courier.
Coming to the contents of my gift hamper, it had a water dispenser, two casseroles one very good looking lunch box, salt and shaker set and a stand to keep and store cutlery.
Back to the water dispenser clearly of A grade quality looks beautiful with silver and black shade, the top is very contemporary. And it is quite a utility item with a glossed tap and enough water to hold for 2-3 people.
..............
Coming down to the three-tiered tiffin box. It's good quantity you can easily pack a sufficient amount of vegetables and other food items in the tiffin box. Which is again very good looking and very contemporary in design.
Casseroles in the box in the gift box both of them very good very easy which are usually required in a small home the sizes are quite useful for a small as well as a medium size family. They have been added from the specially designed Solitaire range of Casseroles from Mayur. The food stays warm and fresh in this boxes and the lids close properly.
The salt and shaker set is again a good size very nice Steel finish and something which can be easily used on day to day basis in between every meal.
The cutlery stand also has a spacious look and feel with various forms of cutlery, spoons, forks and knives easily adjustable into it. Its also handy to use in all.
The superior silver finish is one constant which you can see across the product range. It gives a shine and a sophisticated look to the Stainless Steel.

Listening: The Super Power We All Posses
One thing that you need to know about me is that I am a reader. I read a lot of books, and that hashelped me in observing everything around me. And this gives me a way to absorb what’s around meand take the positives out of it and grow. Right now, I am reading a book by Eric Barker that says onthe power of listening. Good listeners are always able to derive great ideas, and it is essentialto be a patient listener in every aspect of our lives. The thought of conflict among us is disturbing mevery much lately as I keep on wondering why conflicts are on the rise, and now, we’ve come to the point that it is higher than ever.
This is great because people don’t listen to what others are saying all they want is to keep shouting about their demands. Amidst all this, we are forgetting how powerful is hearing as a tool. It only takes a person to pay attention to what the other has to say rather than keep on talking. This way of conversation can improve the relationship and end bitter relationships which can, in turn, can make way for a new one.
It is my personal opinion that the world is more divided than ever. It is very evident from thescreens of our mobile phones that project social media where, every page I look into gives keeps Isee people tearing down each other, insulting, promoting hate speech. We might have been able tobuild a strong Nation, but we failed to create a united community. This very thought is depressing.
The Skill of Hostage Negotiation in the Context of Workplace
The book I am reading says about hostage negotiation and its history: how and why it was built. It iswritten that it was created; according to the book, it was designed to make a win-win situation out ofthe conversation. Well, I don’t think that it is realistic, although I believe that listening to what someone has to say helps in defusing the conflict and this gives a message that theother person’s views and opinions matter.
Otherwise, we react to what someone has said, and we tend to go into war mode, which is usually thecase in social platforms that results in twitter and Facebook strike against someone. This war modeapproach is not necessary at all as we need to build relationships with each other that’ll help to build a community. We all seem united under the Nation, but its time to be united under humanitarian grounds.
Difference Between Hearing and Listening. How Does One Of The Two Help in Conflict Resolution?
Nothing new is left to be said about listening. It is a skill, and in fact, it is an avenue for self-change,Carl Rogers made us realize that long ago. Hearing is just listening to what others are saying. Butlistening is paying attention at the same time. Paying attention helps in getting an insight into thespeaker, and it helps to know his feelings better.
Listening works as a massive tool for conflict resolution. Active listening is what helps in conflictresolution, and this is what is taught in training programs as well as the art of communication. It is not that easy a practice, but it is a great skill to have. It is something that can help us put away conflicts without taking any drastic measures. Conflicts make people go defensive, but through active listening, we can always make the other person feel that their opinion and views matter to us. This way, the resolution percentage becomes much higher.

Our obstinate society
Do we belong to the era where we are aiming too high for our dreams and leaving no stones unturned in building our extravagant standard of living?
The answer is not that simple because we have complicated it with our ideas of being fit in the definition of so-called modern society. So let us rephrase the question in a much straight forward but an undesirable way. Do we aim high now for us or society? Are we walking on the path of proving it to the world more than ourselves that how we are better than others?
Unfortunately, the feeling of being superior has become an essential mindset of our ultra modernized club. This can be seen right from today's an upbringing where a child is conditioned to choose many sophisticated toys with more features than his friend, whether it's a student getting better marks than his classmate this time but not from his last performance, whether it's an employee who is getting higher appraisal in contrast to his colleagues rather than his own journey in an organization . Has it not become a matter of proving it to the world more than our self that I am good enough?
We are trapped. When achievements of life are measured in terms of comparisons and contrast, it's difficult to survive while living a life of self-satisfaction and isolated success. On the one hand, we want a love which is complete in itself, but then this conditioned mind wants to love with other benefits too. We crave for self-satisfaction, but then this society gives us another chance to get more than we deserve. We want to be internally contended and happy with our present life, but what about the regrets and gloominess from our self made choices and then their failures.
There is no end to this dilemma of what we are meant to do being a part of this so-called 'hi-fi' society and what all are doing. But the good part is it not as difficult as we think to come out of the jaws of self-worthy dubiousness. It is just the initiative backed up by strong willpower whether one wants to stick in this egoistic drama or live a life filled with peace and self-satisfaction. Yes, it's easier to be called a victim of this mad race and keep doing things to impress others in all genres of life, but at the end of the day often people feel lost and crave to be at peace.
The joy in having small things achieved, least comparisons, being human, and most important realize the significance of one's own true potential is out of this world.
We need to live this life of being modernized in a real sense of the word, not as copy cats because we are humans, not just Zombies.

How to Stay Insulated From Annoying People
It is a fact that there are good people at work who try to help us by going out of their way or in any way they can. It constitutes the majority of the people in any workplace, and they are polite and caring as well.
But there are also people at any workplace who are precisely the opposite of the above lines. They areinconsiderate; they are impolite, not helpful, and anything you can think of. Interestingly, the numberis less compared to the number of good people. But somehow it seems to us that they are everywhere, its because they take up more space in our mind than good people do.
Dealing with Annoying People at Work
The best way to deal with annoying people is not to get angry. This is possibly the best way if you don't get angry the annoying people lose interest in you as you are no more triggered and the more you stay calm you can act decisively when you are treated badly. This is the basic thing that one needs to remember, and around this bottom line there are some strategies:
Stay calm it'll help you not to do anything that you'll regret later
Easily getting mad means staying mad at that person for a longer period
Staying calm will help eventually people who want to annoy you
Getting angry only harms your own body
If you get annoyed or angry easily, you become a prey
Dreaming to take revenge is bad as you are not thinking constructively
Getting annoyed is makes an impact on your memory, so they keep coming back
Losing your temper makes you look bad
Laugh about it. Trust me it pisses them off
Move on
Know that they are there but don't let them affect you
Out-turn
It is to be understood clearly that this article is not about tolerating with behaviors that annoy you.
One should take a stand against it but in a formal manner and not in the heat of the moment.
It is all about not getting annoyed easily or not giving in to what others want of you, because at the end of the day getting angry is harmful to one's self.
As Aristotle said; it's not about getting angry, it's about getting angry the right way.

My Bengal Diary
My mother was in a terrible rush from the morning of 14th June, as the day finally came we are going to Bengal. After three years, we got a reason as my Didi got an internship in Rishra(an industrial area in Bengal). Moreover, my father was in Delhi for his professional meet. This was the time I have to take all the responsibility of Mumma and act like an adult boy!
Hurry up, Babu! You are always too slow. This was usual, as my Mumma is still panicuntil the train arrives. After an emotional goodbye to Tango (my dog), we left our home at 3:30 p.m. which was 3 hours before the train's arrival time. The moment we reached the station, Istarted searching for a lonely and clean place where I can sit peacefully and watch out myMumma too. After founding nothing unusual in social media, I soon lost in my thoughtswondering about life, world and till the human fantasies can go up to…
I came out of my thoughts when I heard a female voice from the station's speaker announcing" Duronto express is arriving on platform number", and the headlight of the train with a loud horn was approaching towards the platform. I took all the luggage and was about to say myMumma to be ready but Mumma was already looking at me, and I was about to experience thesame rush at least for, few more minutes.
Berth number 53 and 55 here it is. "Please let us sit" Mumma requested to the people sitting onour berth and ordered me to settle all the luggage. I sat on the berth by shooing some older men, acting like they're dead and took a deep breath. But I felt very disappointed by discoveringnothing unusual around me, nearly all of them were having ugly fat faces. I predicted the restof the journey and said thanks to Mumma for fitting me a brand new phone with internetrecharge!
Duronto express is a pretty good option while traveling Bengal; it's economical with low delayrates. The only problem with this train is its stoppages. The first stop of the express after Kanpuris Banaras, around 200km, thus indicating no vendors and no fast food available till midnight.Instead of a few railway staff bringing a tasteless meal, just for formalities and providing reallywarm water when it's already 48° outside.
I was laying in the upper berth watching a recent SciFi web series when a hand holding mealtray came towards me, and I took that tray without even bothering that person maybe it was arailway guy or Mumma sitting in the lower berth. However, it doesn't change the taste of anydishes in the tray. Dal and egg curry were full of yellow water with no salt added. I asked therailway guy, "what do you do with wasted food?""We feed animals, mostly"He replied and began to move as he was in a hurry to deliver other people's orders too.I thanked God for make me an animal lover. Without wasting any time I packed my whole meannicely as it was earlier, the only change was, the curd and egg were missing. Eggs are alwaysbeing my favorite, will never waste under any circumstances.
After eating egg and curd, I noticed something which should be seen earlier. A girl almost ofmy age was there in the next compartment, which was just beside my berth and was easilyvisible from the steel cage. It was quite late to noticed her, the moment I saw her, she asked mefor a charger as her mobile battery was about to die. I looked at the switchboard of mycompartment and found that my charger was already busy. I regretted by saying sorry tothe girl, but she replied it was okay as she forgot to bring a charger with her. I immediately suggested her to buy a new Nokia phone I did, which comes with great features, especially itslong battery life. This time only an uncomfortable smile came from the other side, .i realized that Ihad committed a mistake by saying this awkward statement, but I am too emotional aboutbrands! That is one of the reasons why I still don't have a girlfriend. Again, I failed to make amemorable journey. I decided to complete my remaining web series and not to botherabout my surroundings!
I don't know when I fall asleep, but again, it was the station's announcement which awakenedme. Sweat was all over my face; my phone was still on; everyone around me was gossiping andchatting. Sunlight too enlightened the whole bogie. Mama gave me a chilled water bottle when Icame down and sat beside her. I felt the change of environment, which assured me we had entered Bengal. " We'll reach Howrah in around 10 minutes, the train is on time," Mumma said to me as she was indicating that I should be prepared with luggage.
It's a bit early but I was able to see many railway tracks together, busy train schedules and thevoice of railway speaker was increasing with every second. This time I have told Mumma towalk slowly and calmly as Howrah is the last stop of Duronto; still, every other guy was in a hurry.I don't know why people can't relax and be happy from the gift they got from the universe, life! Many of them didn't even realize.
However, I knew that the first part of this journey has come to an end when I saw a yellow boardnear the end of the platform in which text was written- "WELCOME TO WEST BENGAL"
