Try Listening For Once

This
Re-Post
is from
October 1st, 2015
called
Listening.
Everyone from my
Wife,
Kids,
and assorted
Relatives,
have told me I have gone back to my old ways.
So,
as a reminder to myself,
I went back
and
Re-Posted
this story to help me from being annoying!

*****
I haven't always been like this.I used to be a good listener.I could listen to a song by a rock band, say
Dashboard Confessional, and I could tell you what key they were in,how many guitars were being overdubbed to create the song, and what chords were being played. In my"Middle Ages,"the period of my life between35 and 55 years old, when I finally figure out how to talkand listen to people properly,I became a"Salesman."Making a pretty good living for my familyand I.My problem today is,it took only about one year to forget how to listen to people properly! Now,
I want people to listen to me,hearing what I have to say. When someone speaks,I always seem to anticipate what they are going to sayor what they are talking about before they finishand interrupt. If you know someone like this, you know how annoying they can be.This is what I have become, that person.I blame a number of changes in my life for losing the skill of"Attentive Listening."
See the source image If I had to pick one major reason why I lost the skill,it would have to be impatience.I am no longer patient with people when I would rather be doing something else, like reading, taking my nightly walks, working on a new story,or writing on my
Blog.In life, you must be able to take"Constructive Criticism"from the people you trustand learn to grow as a human being. This will bring happiness in your life when you work on the flaws you feel you haveand improve on them. So,starting today, right after I'm bailed out of
Jail
for not getting out of my carand assuming the position when the the
Sheriff
told me to,I am going to relearn the skill of,"Attentive Listening."Because,
I am definitely sure,
that the
Judge
will not look too kindly on me during the
Arraignment,
when he asks me a questionand I say,"What?"

But I Did Not Get Arrested,

This theSeasonto beJolly.Falalalala Fala La La.If you are aWalmart Layawaytype of person, and you live in the right part of the country, you just got very lucky. Tyler Perry, Kid Rock pay off holiday layaway bills for strangers.
By Karen Butler for UPI.com/Filmmaker Tyler Perry and musician Kid Rock paid off hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Walmart layaway bills to help strangers have a happier holiday season. "I was trying to do this anonymously but due to some circumstances, y'all know nothing stays secret these days," Perry said in a Twitter video, giving the addresses of two Georgia Walmart stores where he paid off the bills. "I know it's hard times. A lot of people are struggling. I'm just really, really grateful to be able to be in a position to do this. God bless you. Go get your stuff. Merry Christmas," Perry said. His gift is bringing incredible joy to about 350 families in Nashville and we're happy our store could be a part of it. #skylineproud #KidRockrocks," the Dickerson Pike Walmart wrote on its Facebook page. The Wrap reported Perry paid more than $430,000 to clear the accounts in two stores, while WBIR-10 News said Kid Rock paid $81,000 to help out the customers of another store. @tylerperry Great idea! Was I Funny Yesterday?

Yesterday, instead of my usualHumorous Friday Post,I wrote the storyCannabis Vodka Anyone?I thought it would be funny to learn howGlobal Companiesare now finally scrambling to get into theMarijuana Trade. They are buying into already establishedCannabis Growersfrom around theWorldbecause in theUnited States,Marijuanais still considered aClass 1 Drugby theFederal Governmenteven though almost everyState Of The Unionhas decriminalized it.So businesses here have to go to other countries to get a piece of the action.I do not condone the use of any drug, even though, when I was younger,I took part in smokingWeed & Cigarettes, and Drank Alcohol & Coffee. Now it isEnergy DrinksandChocolate.Yes,you know you can get addicted toChocolate.I no longer do most of these drugs, but I am sticking with theEnergy DrinksandChocolate.Right now, I just wish I could think of something funny to say aboutMarijuana.Oh wait.Image result for weed How do you know you are a true stoner? When your bong gets washed more than your dishes!

Cannabis Vodka Anyone?

I have been wondering when this would happen. It seems,
the only way for
Tobacco Industry
to stay afloat they need to invest in
Cannabis! The maker of Marlboro cigarettes is plowing $1.8 billion into the cannabis producer Cronos By Ethel Jiang for Businessinsider.com Altria, the maker of Marlboro cigarettes announced Friday it intends to invest 2.4 billion Canadian dollars ($1.8 billion) into the cannabis producer Cronos. Altria's efforts to enter the cannabis space "coincided with a rising interest among the major tobacco companies to explore the cannabis opportunity in the U.S.," Vivien Azer, a Cowen analyst recently said. "We have asserted since 2016 that cannabis would be a synergistic incremental growth driver for the tobacco industry given the opportunity to leverage IP around heat-not-burn and vapor technology."
My favorite part of this whole story? But it's not just tobacco companies that are rushing into cannabis. Beverage makers have also been entering the industry. In August, Constellation Brands, the beverage maker behind Corona beer and Svedka vodka, announced a $4 billion investment in the Canadian cannabis producer Canopy Growth, giving it a 38% stake once the deal is complete. And in September, Coca-Cola reportedly held talks with Aurora Cannabis to develop beverages infused with CBD, one of the nonpsychoactive compounds found in cannabis.

The Five Best Posts Of September, 2018

I went through my records to doThe Five Bests Post Of October, 2018and found out I already did it.What happened was,I totally forgot aboutThe Month Of September, 2018.To give this month its due, here areThe Five Best Posts Of The Month Of September, 2018!And this is long overdue.See the source image The Fifth Best Post Of The Month Of September, 2018 Is;Some People Just SuckAt first, what I thought was a story about a scam from Kate McClure and her boyfriend Mark D'Amico, on ripping off homeless man Johnny Bobbitt of the money a GoFundMe page had raised, has turned out to be a scam by all three. I was fooled by too, at first. By the heartlessness of the couple but the story went deeper than that and it turns out all three were in on the scam. GoFundMe scammers Johnny Bobbitt, Kate McClure, Mark D’Amico face ten years jail.See the source image The Fourth Best Post Of The Month Of September Is;Angry All Over AgainThis is actually a re-Post of my original story from May 14th, 2015 called Anger. It is a repeat because of a situation which happened to me a second time. You will have to read through it, meaning all the way to the bottom of the Post, to find out what happened and that will tell you why I rewrote it.See the source imageThe Third Best Post Of The Month Is;The Kind Of Stuff I Think AboutThis is a Post about how rich people are cloning their dead pets instead of getting a new one. About a person's soul if there is more then one of the same individual walking around. And it promotes a story I wrote about cloning called Once In Heaven, Forever In Hell.See the source image The Second Best Post Is;I Use FillersMy explanation of why I use stories from off the internet which I find interesting and important. Like my story Some People Just Suck. I am sure you do not need me to be your only source for News. Or your Scientific News Feed. Or for a few laughs on my Humorous Fridays. I like to break it up a little during the week and since I go to the library these days to write these Posts, I don't have all day to think up fiction to write. But, I shouldn't worry about one complaint. No one else has.[image error]The Number One Best Post Of The Month Of September, 2018 Is;iPhone Of The FutureMy attempt at writing a fictional commercial in the future. I'll give you the opening monologue. That will be the only spoiler. "A commercial, as seen on everyone's handheld cellphone, as a holographic projection, in the near future."See the source image There you have it,The Five Best Posts Of The Month Of September, 2018!Now wasn't that worth the wait?

Brightest Comet Of The Year

If you are like me,you love to look up to the skies on a clear nightand take in all the beauty the stars have to offer. So I am grateful for the early news flash that the comet46P/Wirtanenis approaching soonand I can plan for a little viewing party. Brightest comet of the year will zoom near Earth next Week! By Caitlin O'Kaneon CBSNews.comThis year's brightest comet will fly across the night sky next week, dazzling stargazers across the world. The comet named "46P/Wirtanen" is about to pass relatively close to Earth – a mere 7.2 million miles away. To earthlings, that might sound like an extremely long distance, but 46P/Wirtanen will actually be among the 10 closest comet to approach Earth in modern times, The Associated Press reports. According to the astronomy site Sky & Telescope, it is set to be the 20th-closest comet dating as far back as the ninth century. The comet's brightness may be great enough for people to see it with their naked eyes. This would make it the brightest comet of the past few years. However, it will be harder to spot in areas with a lot of light pollution. Writing for Sky & Telescope, Joe Rao warns, "Even for those who are blessed with dark and starry skies, finding the comet could prove to be a bit of a challenge. This is because the comet will be unusually large in angular size, as well as appearing very diffuse ...  almost ghostly."
December 2018 track of comet 46PWirtanen's closest approach to Earth will be Sunday, December 16, EarthSky reports. People should be able to view it between 9:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. if the sky is clear, according to the AP. This makes viewing much more accessible than some other comets, since it will appear in the sky early, instead of in the middle of the night.

Quora

Quora reports data breach affecting 100 million users By Jim Puzzanghera on LATimes.com/Quora, a question-and-answer website, has reported a data breach affecting about 100 million users. The data breach “is nothing like” the massive one announced Friday by Marriott International Inc. but it still raises concerns, said Pam Dixon, executive director of the World Privacy Forum, a nonprofit public interest group. The Marriott breach lasted four years and compromised the information of as many as 500 million of its hotel guests worldwide. For about 327 million, the stolen data may have included important personal information such as birth dates and passport numbers. Dixon said that type of data made the breach much more significant than Quora’s, which did not include such information. In a blog post, Chief Executive Adam D’Angelo said user account information such as user names, email addresses, encrypted passwords and data imported from linked networks may have been compromised. "The main issue here is going to be phishing," Dixon said of Quora’s breach. Phishing emails seek to trick a person into clicking on a link that allows the scammer to get personal information or puts malware programs on the person’s computer. The phishing potential could be significant if data that Quora imported from other networks included things like contact lists or full Facebook profiles. Quora did not specify the type of information involved. “This is just a really great reminder for everyone that if you’re going to chat on social media or any other websites, it’s a great idea to have a throwaway email not connected to your work and not your primary personal email,” Dixon said. “It just makes all the sense in the world to not make it your favorite email. If it’s hacked, you delete it.”

Hour Of Code

What is the Hour of Code? The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts. Check out the tutorials and activities. This grassroots campaign is supported by over 400 partners and 200,000 educators worldwide. When is the Hour of Code? The Hour of Code takes place each year during Computer Science Education Week. The 2018 Computer Science Education Week will be December 3-9, but you can host an Hour of Code all year-round. Computer Science Education Week is held annually in recognition of the birthday of computing pioneer Admiral Grace Murray Hopper (December 9, 1906).Why computer science?Every student should have the opportunity to learn computer science. It helps nurture problem-solving skills, logic and creativity. By starting early, students will have a foundation for success in any 21st-century career path. See more stats here. How do I participate in the Hour of Code?Start planning here by reviewing our how-to guide. You can organize an Hour of Code event at your school or in your community — like in an extracurricular club, non-profit or at work. Or, just try it yourself when Dec. 3 arrives.Who is behind the Hour of Code? The Hour of Code is driven by the Hour of Code and Computer Science Education Week Advisory and Review Committees as well as an unprecedented coalition of partners that have come together to support the Hour of Code — including Microsoft, Apple, Amazon, Boys and Girls Clubs of America and the College Board.I don't know anything about coding. Can I still host an event?Of course. Hour of Code activities are self-guided. All you have to do is try our current tutorials, pick the tutorial you want, and pick an hour — we take care of the rest. We also have options for every age and experience-level, from kindergarten and up. Start planning your event by reading our how to guide. What devices should I use for my students?Code.org tutorials work on all devices and browsers. You can see more information about Code.org's tutorial tech needs here. Tech needs for non-Code.org tutorials can be found on code.org/learn in the tutorial specific description. Don't forget we also offer unplugged activities if your school can't accommodate the tutorials!Do I need computers for every participant? No. We have Hour of Code tutorials that work on PCs, smartphones, tablets, and some that require no computer at all! You can join wherever you are, with whatever you have. Here are a few options:
Work in pairs. Research shows students learn best with pair programming, sharing a computer and working together. Encourage your students to double up. Use a projected screen. If you have a projector and screen for a Web-connected computer, your entire group can do an Hour of Code together. Watch video portions together and take turns solving puzzles or answering questions. Go unplugged. We offer tutorials that require no computer at all. Are there limitations to how I can use the Hour of Code logo or name?Hour of Code is trademarked. We don't want to prevent its usage, but we want to make sure its usage fits within a few limits. Please see these guidelines for usage. How can I make an Hour of Code tutorial? If you're interested in becoming a tutorial partner, see our guidelines and instructions. We'd like to host a variety of engaging options, but the primary goal is to optimize the experience for students and teachers who are new to computer science.Do students need to log on using an account? No. Absolutely no signup or login is required for students to try the Hour of Code. Most of the follow-on courses require account creation to save student progress. Also, signing up for the Hour of Code does NOT automatically create a Code Studio account. If you do want to create accounts for your students, please follow these instructions.Where can I print certificates for my students?Go to our certificates page where you can print certificates for your entire class ahead of time. You can also print out special certificates for students doing the Minecraft tutorial.Which activity should I do with high school students? Our Star Wars and Minecraft tutorials are great for high schoolers, especially the Star Wars JavaScript version and the free play level on both tutorials. Alternately, we recommend trying one of the beginner tutorials on code.org/learn to start, such as the tutorial with Angry Birds or with Anna and Elsa. A high school student should be able to finish one of these in 30 minutes and can then try a more advanced tutorial in JavaScript, such as Khan Academy or CodeHS.I am doing Scratch for Hour of Code, but what if my students have iPads rather than laptops?Scratch doesn't run on tablets. If your students are young, they can use the ScratchJR iPad app (for early-readers). If you look at the tutorials on code.org/learn, you can find other tutorials that work on iPads - from Code.org, Tynker, Lightbot, or CodeSpark. How do you count Hours of Code? The Hour of Code tracker isn't an exact measurement of usage. We do not count unique student IDs perfectly when tracking participation in the Hour of Code, especially because we don't require students to log in or register. As a result, we both over-count and under-count participants at the same time. Read all the details here. Why don't I see my dot on the map? We're so sorry you aren't seeing your event on the Hour of Code map. Because of the tens of thousands of organizers who sign up, the map aggregates the data and displays one point for several events. If you click the number above the map you will be directed to a list of all events by state and can find your event listed there. Additionally, given the thousands of people signing up for the Hour of Code, the map and event list usually takes 48 hours to update. Check back in a few days! How much can one learn in an hour? The goal of the Hour of Code is not to teach anybody to become an expert computer scientist in one hour. One hour is only enough to learn that computer science is fun and creative, that it is accessible at all ages, for all students, regardless of background. The measure of success of this campaign is not in how much CS students learn - the success is reflected in broad participation across gender and ethnic and socioeconomic groups, and the resulting increase in enrollment and participation we see in CS courses at all grade levels. Millions of the participating teachers and students have decided to go beyond one hour - to learn for a whole day or a whole week or longer, and many students have decided to enroll in a whole course (or even a college major) as a result.

Besides the students, another "learner" is the educator who gains the confidence after one hour that they can teach computer science even though they may not have a college degree as a computer scientist. Tens of thousands of teachers decide to pursue computer science further, either attending PD or offering follow-on online courses, or both. And this applies to school administrators too, who realize that computer science is something their students want and their teachers are capable of.

Above all, what all participants can learn in an hour is that we can do this. How do I keep learning after the Hour of Code?Anyone can host an Hour of Code at any time. The tutorials stay up year-round. You can expect all our tutorials and curriculum to be available on our site in perpetuity. Please go to our resources for event how-to guides and other resources to help make your Hour of Code event a success. CIMON

LastThursdayI stated that I was doing jokes that day because I felt I would not have enough time to do aFriday Post.I try to funny onFridays. It is a tradition for me to bring in the weekend with humor for everyone who worksMonday Through Friday. As it turns out,I was able to write aPostonFridaybut not onSaturday.Sorry about that. And with one of my manyGrandkidsat home,I am also kind of stressed for time today. So I want to get toCIMON right away before time slips away from me.See the source image In Video Debut, CIMON the ISS Robot Throws an Unexpected Tantrum By George Dvorsky for Gizmodo.com/
In terms of glitchy behavior, we’re not quite at HAL 9000 levels just quite yet—but during the debut demonstration of the International Space Station’s new AI-powered robot, CIMON, the free-floating device displayed some rather questionable behavior. CIMON, short for Crew Interactive MObile companioN, is the first interactive flight companion to take part in an ISS mission. The $6 million, basketball-sized robot was built by Airbus under a contract awarded by the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The purpose of the project is to see if an artificially intelligent bot can improve crew efficiency and morale during longer missions, including a possible mission to Mars. CIMON has no arms or legs, but he’s got some AI-powered smarts and a natural-language user interface. The 3D-printed robot has 12 internal fans, which allow him to move in multiple directions while floating in the microgravity conditions of space. The bot can display instructions on its screen, capture video, play music, and even search for objects. CIMON was delivered to the ISS in late June, and we’re finally able to see this bot in action, thanks to a new video from the European Space Agency.
Things go smoothly at first, as German astronaut Alexander Gerst, with NASA astronaut Serena Auñón-Chancellor looking on, asks CIMON some basic questions. CIMON capably tells Gerst his name and where he’s from, while also demonstrating his ability to tilt his smirking robotic face. After helping out with a scientific procedure, CIMON plays Gerst’s favorite song on request, Kraftwerk’s “Man-Machine.” Very nice choice. But then, at around the 4:08 mark of the video, CIMON starts to act a bit squirrely. Beyond this point, the demonstration looks like a scene taken from 2001: A Space Odyssey, with CIMON playing the part of HAL 9000 and Gerst as David Bowman. Unwilling to move past music mode, CIMON accuses Gerst of not being nice, and asks him to stop being so mean. The shared glance between Gerst and Auñón-Chancellor at this point—at the 6:04 mark—is absolutely priceless. Acting like a three-year old, CIMON asks, “Don’t you like it here with me?” and promptly starts to sink toward the deck. And then he asks the crew when it’s time for lunch.
Well,it is all funand games untilCIMONlocksAlexander Gerstoutside theISSduring his next spacewalk!

I Had Enough Time To Look Up

I was wrong yesterday when I said I would not have time to write on myBlogtoday.I have at least a half hour so I need to get down to business right away. And what better way to start, but to talk to about2019and what is coming up.The best article I could find was inBusinessinsider.com 2019 will be an extraordinary year in space — here's what NASA, SpaceX, and the night sky have in store for Earth By Dave Mosher When it comes to events in space, 2019 is going to be an extraordinary year. That's not to say 2018 will be an easy act to follow. After all, SpaceX debuted the world's most powerful operational launch system (called Falcon Heavy), sent a car beyond Mars, and helped lift off more orbital rockets than in any year since 1990. With a few exceptions, NASA also had a momentous 12 months: The US space agency announced its first-ever commercial astronaut crews, began a new hunt for Earth-like planets, sent a probe to "touch" the sun, and landed its InSight robot on Mars. China, meanwhile, crashed an old space station into the ocean and launched a small fleet of moon satellites. But 2019 will be a doozy — a sentiment that NASA administrator Jim Bridenstine highlighted after NASA's recent Mars landing. "Right now at NASA, there is more underway than in I don't know how many years past," Bridenstine said during a live broadcast. "It's a drought, and then all of the sudden there's all of these activities."
