If I didn’t have wine I wouldn’t make it.

No, I’m not being over dramatic, this month has been extremely draining both emotionally and physically. At the beginning of the year, my Nana fell and fractured her hip. She has yet to recover. The past two months have been nothing but ups and downs. She would get better for a little while and then suddenly we were rushing her back to the hospital. We’ll we know the cause now, she has cancer. I can’t tell you what kind because the doctors themselves don’t know. They have no idea where it ori...

This Girl is on Fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have finally done it! I have finally outlined the rest ofSouls in the Dark!

anigif_enhanced-buzz-24118-1383156721-0

I have agonized over the ending of this book for months. I know I drove my husband mad with all my bouncing back and forth. But now it’s all done. I finally have a clear sight of how I want this story to end. I had bounce a few ideas around for months, but now I have finally decided. I can’t tell you how happy I am. Not knowing had put a huge hindrance on my writing because I didn’t want to get too close to th...

A Very Special Poem of the Month

This poem is extra special because it is the 100th post!

dun_dun_dun__by_keishikouen-d5zctwh

Wow, I can’t believe that I’ve been doing this for that long. It’s been almost two years since I started this blog and a year since I’ve published my first book. So much has happened since then. But I won’t take up too much of your poem time with my ramblings.

Greetings to the Spring

A slash of green

On a barren landscape

The smell of earth

In the air

Fills me with life

Little shoots break forth

From the black soil

Pinks and pur...

Further Down the Rabbit Hole

As you may know, I am a life long geek and proud of it. My childhood consisted of comic books, Lord of the Rings (the cartoons), Star Wars and Star Trek. I didn’t realize I was a geek at that time, I just knew that I had some epic fandoms I was apart of. I appreciated the artwork, the story telling, and the delivery. When I entered my teen years I discovered anime (thank you Adult Swim) and fell a little further down the rabbit hole. However, as I got older, these things got pushed to the bac...

anigif_enhanced-buzz-17363-1390566621-15

Youmust, I repeatmust go see this show. It is absolutely worth every penny. I don’t think I stopped smiling once throughout the show. My hubby didn’t mind too much one way or the other, but it wasn’t his thing. He said he got more enjoyment out of watching me turn into a four year old. haha. Have I mentioned how much I love him.

Unfortunately...

SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

O.K.

I know I’m getting a little ahead of myself. There’s still a few weeks left until the “official” start to spring, but the weather is supposed to be so nice this week. We’ll actually get up to about 80! Hot dang! I’m finding my eyes keep going to my planter boxes, which are barren, with ever growing excitement because soon my hands will be playing in their dirt. I cannot wait to start my garden but I must be patient. I do not want to be too hasty and loose my lovely veggies.

I through ope...

The little things

Because of my day job, writing my second book is a bit of a struggle. I don’t necessarily have the time or the energy after work to sit down and write. This also means that I have even less time to edit. Every time I tried, my eyes would eventually end up crossed from staring at the screen. To fix this, I have decided to go a little old school. I printed out the chapters that I’ve completed and pulled out my handy dandy red pen and got to work. Oddly, I love it. There’s something beautiful ab...

I have an addiction

Hello, my name is Kristen and I am addicted to free books for the Kindle….

anigif_enhanced-buzz-15818-1376582777-0

Every day, I get an email for this site called bookbub. It’s awesome! Not only do they suggest some books that you may like, they also include free books too. Nearly everyday, I download a free book or two. But here’s the kicker….I rarely read them. I have some books that have been on my kindle for years and I’ve never read them. Well, I’m trying to change that. I’ve made myself promise that I will not buy anym...

Finally! I have a cover!

So as some of you may remember, over the summer my computer decided it wanted to crash every other day. Because of that not only did I not get any writing done, but I also lost a lot of stuff. One of these things was my Photoshop program and all the working covers I had. To make matters worse, neither my husband nor I could find the backup of the Photoshop program. So that meant that we had to get a new one…

so-many-different-ones

However, my husband has pulled through once again (seriously, I would be comple...

In the Moonlight

Lying in your arms
the moonlight shining through
i smile at your sleeping face

my heart swells with love
and it feels like it will burst
nothing is wrong
i am happy

memories fill my head
when we met
when we first said i love you
our first kiss
our first night together

you never need to fear
that I should ever leave you
we are meant for each other
and nothing will ever change that

So here I am
watching you as you sleep
I kiss your forehead
and curl up to you and dream
