“Unbroken Light” Kickstarter Successfully Funded!
Well, the subject line would’ve spoiled any attempt at big news, so I’ll keep this post short and sweet.
The Kickstarter was successful far beyond my wildest hopes, and thanks to the wonderful backers, I’ll be able to get some pretty coolStar Hunters merchandise together to go along with the release of Unbroken Light. I’m so excited for this. I cannot wait!
Unbroken Light is going to go up for pre-order sometime this coming week on Amazon and Smashwords, so if you missed the Kickstarter campa...

Kickstarter Campaign Ends Tonight
It’s been an emotional 30 days (for me, at least!), but we’re finally coming to the end of the Kickstarter campaign forUnbroken Light. At 7 PM EDT, the campaign will be over. If you want to join in, this is your last chance!
Since we hit both the minimum funding and the stretch goal, backers new and old who pledge for the $15 or more tiers will recieve one bookmark and one custom-cut brass keychain as bonus “Thank you” items. I’m really excited to get these keychains made. They should be r...

Planet Talk: Yuna
After some poking and prodding from a friend, I finally made a video about one of the planets that appears in my science fiction seriesThe Star Hunters. This one is about Yuna, and I talk a bit about single-biome worlds as a trope in scifi in general.
Forgive my editing, I am not a master video maker, but I did what I could, and now you can stare at me while I talk and two arkin plushies stare back at you.
In other news, I have a proof copy ofUnbroken Light making its way to me, and it wil...

Inktober + OC October – First Batch
I missed out on Inktober for the past few years and decided to make a point of participating this time around. I wanted to focus on line work with a brush pen (which is turning out to be so much fun, I love it!!). I decided to combine the Inktober challenge with OC October, which requires you to draw one of your original characters each day for the month. So, here’s the first batch!
A lot of these were pretty quick and definitely have some anatomy problems, but they were all fun to do. Some s...

Kickstarter Funding Goal Met! WOW!!!
Earlier tonight, the Kickstarter campaign forUnbroken Light hit its minimum funding goal, and then some! That’s really incredible, and I’m still a bit in shock, to be totally honest. It’s been an emotional ride, and there’s still 10 days left on the campaign. It would not be at this point without the support of all of the amazing backers who have already pledged, and I don’t think I’m ever going to be able to tell them how much I really appreciate their support.
I wonder how many times you ca...

Halfway There & Orion the Arkin Plush
First thing’s first, and theKickstarter campaign forUnbroken Light is officially halfway to the endpoint. It’s climbed up to 63% funding thanks to the amazing backers who have already pledged. If you’re thinking about jumping onboard, now is a great time to do so!
And now for the main attraction.
After a lot of work and some extra detailing, I have finally finished the plush version of Orion the gray arkin. He is made out of silver and black minky fabric, has machine-embroidered eyes and a sc...

Arkin Plush – From Sketches to Completion
As you may or may not know, I’m offering arkin plushies as a reward for higher level pledges for myKickstarter campaign for Unbroken Light. What are arkins? They are large, winged, catlike creatures that appear in my science fiction seriesThe Star Hunters, and they make great companions, both in the books and in plush-form in the real world.

I operate as a plush-maker on the side, and I’ve been workin...

Kickstarter Raffle – Win “Snowdrop” the arkin beanie prototype!
If I haven’t said it enough already (and yes, I’m going to keep doing it until the campaign is over, brace yourselves) I am running a Kickstarter for my second novel. Pledges for as little as $1 would be greatly appreciated, as would any and all shares among your friends who like science fiction that features female bounty hunters who take no crap, giant space armies, tons of action, and more aliens than you can shake a stick at.
Speaking of aliens, though, one species that figures heavily in...

Kickstarter Rewards Preview
With the Unbroken Light Kickstarter ready to launch on September 16, I thought I’d give you all a peek at what the rewards will be. There are the obvious ebooks and paperback copies of Unbroken Light as well as Chasing Shadows, but I’ve been hard at work on additional rewards that will help bring the books to life outside of the text. This is something that I’ve wanted to do for a while, and a successful Kickstarter would make that possible. So before I show you the rewards, I have to say tha...
