Better: Drawing Dragons Day 332
I think I am getting better. I know I am getting better. But some days are still harder than others. Some days we press down on the eraser too much, when we should be getting out the pen.

Spikes and all: Drawing Dragons Day 331
We have this thing, I think, with our families, where we see all their spikes, their rough places. We see the mistakes they’ve made, and it’s hard to see the bigger picture of the people they have become.
One day, I hope I will see the gracefulness of online that has been edited or a life that has been re-envisioned. I see it on the page, every day. I wish I could see it better in real life.

Kate

I didn’t expect a smile, but there it was, with just a little shift of my pen. Sending you happiness along with this little dragon.

Paws or talons: Drawing Dragons Day 329
The posts have gotten shorter as the nights have gotten longer. When the darkness settles in, I settle into my blankets, and don’t emerge until the Spring. Sometimes you’ll see me, that pile of covers in the corner at New Year’s, one hand emerging to hold a sparkler.

The shape of things: Drawing Dragons Day 328
I am sure I understand the shape of things; the turn of a limb, the twist of a wing. But even after all these days the expectation and the gravity of the thing sometimes seems too much.
How many ways can we go wrong? How much time do we have to erase before we surrender to the mistakes?

Kate

Mohawk: Drawing Dragons Day 327
This little mohawk dragon reminds me of my friend Venetia. She is cool and cute and kickin’ and I’m pretty sure she can fly.

Vacant: Drawinng Dragons Day 326
This evening took forever, dragging into the night. My eyes are vacant; I’m half asleep like my little dragon friend. Good night!

Every kind of wing: Drawing Dragons Day 324
We are really not sure how dragons fly, so we best try every kind of wing. Floppy or rigid, little or gigantic, stretching or taut. How do we know how others fly?

Kate
