Like a banshee: Drawing Fairies Day 10
This fairy started with a cute little reference and ended up a banshee. I love her ethereal grace.
The reference is here. The joy is right where you are.
Shine on,
Kate

With a reference: Drawing Fairies Day 9
I started with a reference this time because the face was driving me bananas.
The reference is from here, by Elena Tsuya:
I gave mine clothes, and will work the ink tomorrow.
Shine on,
Kate

Weirder faces: Drawing Fairies Day 8
I gave her bigger eyes, but she is still not quite there yet. Much to learn, young Padawan.

Faces! Drawing Dragons Day 7
Faces! No one told me I’d be drawing faces. This is harder than a hard thing that’s really hard when it’s hard. And it’s hard.
I’ve spent more time than you’d think on this face and less time than I need.
Tomorrow, I will pull out a reference. Because, faces!
Shine on,
Kate

Ack! Drawing Creepy Fairies Day 6
What is happening?! She started out beautiful but then she changed, and now she’s clawing her way into my soul. Please let death come easy.
Shine on,
Kate

Blue: Drawing Fairies Day Five
I finished up my Wonder Fairy today. He makes me smile. Just a little bit of Peter Pan in there, but blue like the ocean and a wee bit sleepy.
Snuggle away, little fairy!
Shine on,
Kate

Wonder: Drawing Fairies Day Four
My seven year old spins through life now. Sometimes, there’s echoes of that sweet little boy. But more often now there are farts and begging and running around. There’s arguing and complaining and asking again. There’s this little boy who is struggling to be a man and learning to fill out his body and his needs and his wants.
And then there is me, wanting it to all go just a bit more slowly, to let the wonder last a little longer.
Shine on,
Kate

Hair: Drawing Fairies Day Three
When I was a pre-teen/teen/adult, my sister used to tell me to brush my hair.
Half the time, I’d already brushed it.
I just had no idea what to DO with it. It’s natural state was…stringy? Weird?
Surprisingly close to my natural state.
I still don’t understand hair.
But I’ve learned that when you color it teal, that forgives a thousand imperfections.
So here is my little teal-haired fairy.
Shine on,
Kate
