Blog Tour with Review Her Christmas Chance by Rachelle Ayala

NEW RELEASE….

Will her cat ruin her Christmas chance for love?

Bella Tallahan has always hidden behind her twin sister, Tally. She was born with cerebral palsy and even though she has finished college, she lives vicariously through her sister’s adventures.

It worked, until her sister married writer Lucky Lenigan, and Bella developed a crush on Lucky’s brother—a bad boy with a shady past.

Chance Martin made one mistake growing up—one that landed him in prison. After his release, he spends his days restoring antique furniture and his nights alone.

When Mr. Klutz, Bella’s fat tabby cat, wreaks havoc in the furniture workshop, Chance confronts Bella and finds himself with a dilemma. He’s not the right kind of guy for a woman with disabilities, but at the same time, he can’t get her out of his mind.

Will the trail of destruction left by one naughty cat bring Bella her Christmas chance for love? Can Chance rise above his past and convince Bella that she is truly worth loving? Or will the secret he is keeping horrify Bella enough to send her back into hiding?

Author’s Note: Although part of the Christmas Creek Romance Series, Her Christmas Chance is a complete and standalone story. Bella Tallahan appears in a previous story, Lucky in Laguna, where her sister Tally Tallahan meets and falls in love with Lucky Lenigan.

A

Christmas Creek Romance Series

Book 1:

Holly & Gordon, Deck the Hearts
Book 2:

Bella & Chance, Her Christmas Chance

Review –
Bella has a wayward cat that likes to find himself in Chance’s woodworking shop tearing things up. Chance confronts Bella and upsets her. Bella is devastated she has a crush on chance and is resigned that relationships are not for her. Chance apologizes for upsetting her and shows her a good time. More and more time they spend together it seems Chance can look past Bella’s disabilities.  The only thing holding them back is the secret of what put Chance in jail which he was released from three years ago. Chance is afraid when the truth comes out Bella will be the one that will want to run.

In an Oyster Shell –  A good romance that was tasteful and inspiring.

The Pearls – I here the term diverse characters being thrown around and I think Bella should be considered a diverse character especially in a romance. Bella was severely disabled and was not your typical heroine for a romance. I loved it. Her disabilities where her strength and how Chance accepted them made them even more beautiful.

I loved that this book was set in a small town with a big loving family thrown into the mix. Bella’s family comes to town and there is drama from her brother but other than that her family is overprotective of her. When they make a point to let her make her own decisions and accept Chance it leaves you with a cozy feeling.

I like the character development. Both Bella and Chance thought they were social rejects that nobody could love. They proved each other wrong. That took a lot of guts that they acquired through perseverance.

The Sand – It was a good book.

Deck the Hearts (A Christmas Creek Romance Book 1)

Opposites attract and sparks fly in the delightful small town of Christmas Creek.

Holly Jolly lives for Christmas. It’s the only time of the year, as far as she’s concerned.

Gordon Gills doesn’t need a reason to hate the holiday season. He doesn’t see the point.

Gordon returns to the mansion he inherited and finds Holly making a mess with her Christmas decorations. Unfortunately, his great-aunt’s will stipulates that he must make merry every Christmas if he wants to keep his inheritance.

Holly is determined to infect the grouchy Gordon with every dose of Christmas cheer she can muster and show him what Christmas is really about.

Will Gordon prevail and turn Holly into a Grinch, or will a sprinkling of Christmas magic show Gordon that there’s no fighting love, especially when it’s wrapped up in a gorgeous redheaded package of jolly holly?

Blog Tour with Review – Secrets at Seaside by Addison Cole

NEW RELEASE…

Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers features a group of fun, flirty, and emotional friends who gather each summer at their Cape Cod cottages. They’re sassy, flawed, and so easy to relate to, you’ll be begging to enter their circle of friends! All books can be read as stand-alone novels.

Secrets at Seaside by Addison Cole is the sweet edition of New York Times bestselling author Melissa Foster’s steamy romance novel Seaside Secrets. The stories and characters remain the same and convey all of the passion you expect between two people in love, without any explicit scenes or harsh language.

In SECRETS at SEASIDE…

Tony Black is the hottest surfer on the planet. He travels the world throughout the year and spends his summers on Cape Cod with his friends, at the Seaside cottages in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. He’s got his choice of women, but Amy Maples is the one he wants. Fourteen years ago she was his for an entire summer, until a devastating accident changed everything, and what they had seemed like it had never existed—at least for her.

Amy Maples is as consistent as the day is long. She’s spent summers on Cape Cod forever, she always does the right thing, and she’s spent years trying to reclaim the heart of Tony Black, the only man she’s ever loved. She’s back for a summer of fun with her friends at Seaside, only this year she’s been offered the opportunity of a lifetime thousands of miles away, and she’s decided to try one last time to reconnect with Tony. But having a relationship with Tony means dealing with her past—and dealing with her past may knock her to her knees.

Review –

In an Oyster Shell – This is probably my favorite installment of the series. This book had a lot of depth.

The Pearls – It’s finally here the greatly anticipated story of Tony and Amy. The romance has been hinted at all through out the series and now I have gotten to read it. It was most definitely worth the wait.  As the title implies there are a lot of secrets between the two of them that finally see the light of day.

You can’t read these books and not say something about the characters. You get a deeper look into Tony and Amy’s life. Tony is not just some surfer guy he has a lot of depth. Amy the more innocent of the seaside crew, has been harboring some dark secrets. This also gives the reader a different perspective into her character. Of course the rest of the gang is around and makes the story delightful with their different personalities.

The romance was touch and go in the beginning. Tony and Amy had a lot of hurts from the past to overcome. The end is very satisfying.  I am grateful that Addison Cole does a clean version of her steamy novels so I get to enjoy the stories with a steam level that I am comfortable with.

The Sand – It was a good book.

Despite all her years determining the fates of families, judge Hope Willis couldn't save her own. Her daughter taken, she's frantically grasping at any hope for Krissy's return. Her husband dead-set against it, Hope calls a team not bound by the legal system.

Forensic Instincts: a behaviorist. A techno-wizard. An intuitive. An ex-Navy SEAL. Unconventional operatives. All with unique talents and personal reasons for joining Casey Woods's group, they'll do whatever it takes.

Able to accurately read people after the briefest of encounters, Casey picks up in the Willis household signs of a nervous spouse, a guilty conscience, a nanny that hides on her phone. Secrets beg to creep into the open.

Forensic Instincts will dig through each tiny clue and eliminate the clutter, working around the clock. But time is running out, and Casey's team knows that the difference between getting Krissy back and her disappearing forever could be as small as a suspect's rapid breathing, or as deep as Hope's dark family history.

Hope Willis worse nightmare comes true her daughter is snatched at school. History is repeating itself as decades earlier her sister was taken from their room. Hope hires Forensics Instincts to help find her daughter. FI works around the clock to find Krissy. It lands them in a tangled weave of deceptions and dark backgrounds. Time is running out and they must hurry to find Krissy before she disappears for good.

In an Oyster Shell – Not as amazing as the first Forensics Instincts book I read but it was still pretty good.

The Pearls –  As you would come to expect in Kane’s thrillers the mystery was multi-faceted and complicated. There were lots of details and trails that the investigators went over. It kept you guessing as the reader.

It was fun to read the first book. In this book, you get to see the beginning of Forensic Instincts. You get a glimpse into the inner workings of the team. You get to see Claire come onto the team. She was my favorite character in the sixth book A Face To Die For the book that introduced me to the series. You also get to see how their dog comes onto the team.

I like that this book is packed with things to keep you interested in like romance. Casey has a complicated relationship with FBI investigator. As they are both working on the case one as a professional and one as a private investigator there are complications.

The Sand –  I didn’t like this book as well as the first book I read but it was still good. I will continue with the series.

Return to Liora Blake’s Grand Valley series with Second Chance Season, in which an avowed country boy with a family duty meets an ambitious city girl with even bigger goals and who shows him just what he’s been missing.

Garrett Strickland is unapologetically country, fiercely loyal, and perfectly happy with his job at the Hotchkiss Co-op. Garrett is all about living in the present and not dwelling in the past—even if he was once on his way to a lofty agricultural sciences degree that would guarantee the brightest of futures, only to end up back home when his old man died, leaving behind a debt-ridden family farm that was impossible to keep afloat. After that, it was easy to see why dreaming big wasn’t worth the heartache. And until he crosses paths with a city girl who’s hell-bent on kick-starting her own future, he’s sure that good enough is just that.

Cara Cavanaugh is ready for more from life, even if that means changing everything; including dumping her boyfriend of ten years, turning down a lucrative job at a major newspaper, and leaving behind the upscale suburbs of Chicago where she grew up. Now, she just has to pray that temporarily relocating to the middle of nowhere in Colorado will be the first step in building a career as a freelance journalist—all she has to do is prove she’s got what it takes to make a name for herself. Unfortunately, her tony country day school is as close to “country” as she’s ever been. But when a goodhearted guy who looks like he just stumbled out of a country music video offers to help, she ends up falling hard…and discovering that the perfect story is a love story. And it’s theirs.

Second Chance Season, book two in the Grand Valley series, is a charming, feel-good romance, perfect for fans of Jennifer Probst and Kristan Higgins.

Garrett Strickland works at a dead end job at Hotchkiss Co-Op he has grown to accept his simple country life. Cara Cavanaugh is trying to break out of her socialite life and make it as a freelance writer much to her mother’s disapproval. When Garrett helps Cara out of a bind, he thinks she is as a city as she gets. It seems like an ironic twist of fate when she stays at the farm where Garrett grew up. The very farm he had to sell. Sparks fly between them as they decide to have a relationship in the eight weeks Cara will be there. They think they will be able to walk away when the eight weeks is over.

In an Oyster Shell – A steamy romance that I struggled to engage in.

The Pearls – I liked Cara’s character. She was active and determined. Garrett was too in his way. So bringing the two of them together there were very appropriate fireworks. I liked how Cara adapted to country life. She pushed the boundaries on her upbringing. She wasn’t afraid to break out of what she knew.

I loved how Garrett had just accepted his lot in life, and Cara pushed him to want more. It was the best part of the story.

The romance was tantalizing. Bringing a country boy with a city girl made for a great story.

The Sand – The story was hard to get excited about. It was a little bit predictable.

How long does it take to travel 13 light-years to Earth? How long does it take to fall in love?

To the universe, eight days is a mere blip—but to Matty Jones, it may be just enough time to change his life.

On the hot summer day Matty’s dad leaves for good, a strange girl suddenly appears in the empty field next to the Jones farm—the very field in rural Pennsylvania where a spaceship supposedly landed fifty years ago. She is uniquely beautiful, sweet, and smart, and she tells Matty she’s waiting for her spaceship to return to pick her up.

Of course she is.

Matty has heard all the impossible UFO stories for all of his seventeen years: the conspiracy theories, the wild rumors, the crazy belief in life beyond the stars. As a kid, he searched the skies with his dad and studied the constellations. But all that is behind him now. Dad’s gone and Matty’s stuck.

But now there is Priya. The self-proclaimed alien girl. She must be crazy or high, right?

As Matty unravels the mystery of Priya, he realizes there is far more to her than he first imagined. And if he can learn to believe in what he can’t see: the universe, aliens…love…then maybe the impossible is possible, after all.

Review –

In an Oyster Shell – An emotionally provocative read that will pull at your heartstrings.

The Pearls – The book starts out with a cynical Matty who disbelieves everything his father ever told him. Pryia comes into his life showing up at the field and challenges his beliefs. The concept was interesting, its what drew me to the book but the execution was above and beyond expectation. It was unexpected and most welcome.

The characters really make this story. Matty being the main character sets the tone throughout the book. His growth is exponential and makes for a satisfying read. Pryia remains a mystery for most of the book which is intriguing. The two interacting is delightful.

The romance was sweet and changed me as a reader. It challenged my beliefs. I felt that along with Matty I grew a little bit.

The end was unexpected and very well done.

The Sand – It was a good book.

About Cat Jordan

When I was a teenager, the very first book I ever tried to write was pretentious and stilted and set in a future where there was no paper. Obviously, I fancied myself another Ray Bradbury (who I was thrilled to meet not once but twice!). The book had an awesome title and no plot but I had the most fun creating the characters and the world they lived in. That to me is the most enjoyable part of writing a novel: envisioning a world and populating it with all kinds of people and dogs. Gotta have a dog.

The worlds I create now as an adult are based on my travels from coast to coast in the US, to Europe and Mexico and Canada, and on the people I have met and loved and admired and feared. And dogs.

Currently I live in Los Angeles. With my dog.

SAVAGE SEDUCTION is the first Savage family novel in a new fun and steamy contemporary romance series.

Since starting Savage Security with his brothers, Logan Savage has been chasing mission after mission, running away from the memories of his past. With no fear and no one waiting for him at his isolated cabin in the woods, Logan is determined to keep everyone at arm’s length including his concerned family. And the irresistible woman who dares to blur the lines between his defenses and desire.

Known for her independence, successful CEO Zoe Alcott makes no apologies when she finally takes a stand against her placid love life. Until the day she finds a love note from a deranged stalker and her safety is placed in the palm of Savage Security and the mysterious Logan Savage. Not her usual type, Zoe wonders if the instant passion between them is enough to convince Logan to break his only rule - never get involved with a client.

When Zoe’s stalker becomes increasingly more insistent, Logan continues to fight against his growing possession and wild desire for the too courageous troublemaker determined to drive him crazy. But when the mission takes a turn for the worse, Logan wonders if the battle is worth losing the only woman that he can’t stop thinking about.

In an Oyster Shell –It was a provocative read with characters you found yourself rooting for.

The Pearls – I like a suspense romance with the lead an ex-military man. They always tend to be interesting. Romantic suspense is a sub-genre that I don’t read very often but do enjoy it very much when I do. This book is no exception.

Logan Savage is an on-point alpha male who is struggling with keeping his professional life from getting personal. The struggle was tangible and delightful to read. He was a great character who had a great heroine in Zoe. The two were completely different but complemented each other well.

The romance, of course, was the star of the show and was really fun. It was electrifying. The suspense in the romance was breath-taking. It kept me turning the pages.

The Sand – It was not a clean romance.

J. Woods is a Toronto based writer, mother, and non-conformist. She lives between the space of her green tea and humming laptop when she isn’t chasing after her free spirited daughter. Grasping at sanity, she realized writing stories about her insane thoughts was easier than explaining them to a doctor. Not to mention cheaper.

Charlotte Charlie Donovan knows exactly what she wants for Christmas: Teo Ortiz. He s the school s star athlete, in the National Honor Society, invited to every party, contributes to the school paper (where Charlie is co-editor), and is about to be featured as One to Watch in a teen magazine basically, he's exactly the type of guy Charlie s meant to be with. The only problem he barely knows she exists.

But Charlie is determined to be Teo's date to the Christmas ball. And she has a plan: To rig the paper s Secret Santa so that she can win his heart with five perfect gifts. But to do that she needs help. Enter J.D. Ortiz Teo s cousin, and possibly the most annoying person on the planet. He s easy going, laid back, unorganized, spontaneous, and makes a joke out of everything the exact opposite of Charlie (and Teo). But he s willing to provide insight into what Teo wants, so she s stuck with him.

Yet, the more time Charlie spends with J.D., the more she starts to wonder: Does she really know what, or rather who, she wants for Christmas?

"

Charlotte Charlie Donovan has just broken up with her boyfriend. She is upset not because the relationship is over but that she won’t have a date to her friend’s exclusive birthday party. The party is focused on couples and she’s single. Charlie want’s the perfect boyfriend and Teo Ortiz seems like the perfect candidate. An honor roll athlete that is always on time she thinks he’s the one for her. She rigs the newspaper secret Santa so she makes sure she gets Teo. The problem is she doesn’t know him so she has to get help from Teo’s annoying cousin J.D. J.D. is everything Teo is not disorganized and laid back. The more Charlie spends time with him the more she finds Teo might not be the perfect one for her after all.

In an Oyster Shell- This was a cute romance with great characters which makes me want to read other titles from this author.

The Pearls – I liked the concept of this story. A young girl who thinks she knows what she wants but gets challenged along the way. I like that she’s going after one guy when the guy she might really need is right in front of her all along.

The characters were well defined and had great growth. Charlie was the main character and goes through the most growth. Her epiphany, in the end, had me cheering on the inside.

It’s a great romance with a sweet HEA. I like how the romance slowly develops and Charlie has to make a choice in the end. It’s not a love triangle so don’t worry about that. Her idea of the perfect guy might not be so perfect after all.

The Sand – It was a good book and I am going to buy the other book from this author.

Juliet Langley new PI is looking forward to sticking to cheating husbands and dirty business partners. She is swearing off homicide detecting, that is until her ex-fiance shows up at the coffee shop and falls over dead having been poison. Juliet must work fast to clear her and her boss Pete from the accusation of murder. The police detective is wanting an open and shut case with all fingers pointing to Juliet and Pete. As she works to clear their names romance blooms in unexpected places.

In an Oyster Shell – Another great addition to the series, my favorite yet!

The Pearls – The backstory in this book was extensive without bogging down the overall story. Juliet’s knee-jerk reaction to her good for nothing ex-fiance is interesting to the story. A lot of history comes into play showing her in a new light.

The characters in this story are shining stars. I like Juliet much better in this story than I did in previous books. She’s calmed down a lot and her relationship with Peter helps a lot. Peter is a little bolder in this book making the dynamic between the two even more interesting.

I like the romance. Pete finally gets his chance and Juliet is calmed down enough to receive it. Like I mentioned earlier this is my favorite installment of the series and the romance had a lot to do with it.

The Sand – It was a good book!

Review – First Step Forward by Liora Blake

Pro-football player Cooper Lowry is off the field and into some trouble—in the form of a very alluring, very free-spirited apple orchard owner named Whitney Reed—in the first installment in Liora Blake’s all new Grand Valley series.

After eight seasons playing pro-football, Cooper Lowry knows all the right answers.

Is he stubborn, short-tempered, and impatient? Yes. Are jersey chasers more trouble than they’re worth? Absolutely. Has he ever imagined a life beyond the game? Nope.

Cooper has built an enviable career—the result of staying focused, working hard, and keeping his head on straight—even as his body takes the brunt. So when a hard hit during a Sunday home game leaves him in a dazed heap on the field, it’s nothing more than another day at the office. The only thing that’s different about this Sunday is a chance encounter with a certain fascinating, beautiful free-spirited woman. And some sternly-worded instructions from his coach to take a little time off and give his body the TLC it craves—before he does lasting damage.

Whitney Reed is a few months away from losing the organic fruit orchard she bought three years ago in the tiny town of Hotchkiss, Colorado. At the time, she was just looking for a place to get lost. Instead, she found a home, somewhere she could finally put down roots. Now foreclosure is knocking on her door—along with a grumpy, gorgeous football player who might be just what she never knew she needed.

A charming love story for romance and sports fans alike, First Step Forward is a sexy, heartwarming romp perfect for readers of Jennifer Probst, Kristan Higgins, and Julie James.

Cooper Lowry is pro football player who has taken a major hit on the field and told to take a rest. He runs into a free spirit, Whitney Reed. Cooper is wary of jersey chasers but finds Whitney to be far from that. Whitney is months away from losing her orchard. She finds Cooper to be a good escape for the time being. They find though they come from different worlds they can’t get enough of each other. As they both face uncertainty in their futures they find solace in each other.

In an Oyster Shell – A steamy romance with diverse characters that left me wanting more.

The Pearls – Even though I am not a sports fan, I find that I really like some sports romances. I don’t know why. I really liked this book about Cooper and Whitney. That they were two dynamic but very diverse people coming together made for an epic story.

This was a character driven prose. The characters practically jumped off the page especially free-spirited Whitney. There were some good supporting characters some of which get their own book. I want more of Cooper and Whitney but I am excited to get into Garret’s story next.

The romance was steamy and enticing. The obstacles they overcame were interesting and kept my attention. They had to work at their relationship which was refreshing.

The Sand- It was a good book.
