“Murder Over Mochas” earns 5/5 Clever Karma Conclusions!

I am new to Caroline Fardig’s Java Jive Mystery series, so when I was given the opportunity to read book five, apparently the final book in the series, I immediately sat down with my own frothy Mocha and was thrilled right off! Caroline started the adventure with “ex-boyfriend turned friend” Ryder (seems an oxymoron, but a very delightful dynamic) inviting Juliet Langley to a gun and knife show…Wouldn’t that be a better invitation for his c

Easy to read, attention-holding and a wonderful way to take a break from my usual shoot-'em-up, gore-filled action books: That's my take on this fun book that I thoroughly enjoyed from start to finish. If there's a downside, it appears to be the last in a five-book series that I wish I'd started from the beginning (although this one stands on its own just fine).

Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of cozy mysteries - but for one primary reason: It seems to be the rule that the heroine be downright obn

I have been a fan of this series since the beginning but I think this is my favorite book to date. Juliet is such a wonderful main characters. She is smart, funny, sarcastic, and feisty. The cast of regular secondary characters make their return appearances and we finally have a resolution to Jules' romantic life. I also liked how Ms. Fardig crossed over with her Lizzie Hart Mystery series, introducing readers to those characters.

The mystery in this book was fast paced and kept me guessing unti

OMG! Loved this one! I've enjoyed this series immensely from the start. This is the fifth book. I highly recommend this if you're a cozy mystery fan. So glad this book came to fruition.

Juliet Langley is an awesome protagonist. A long-ago ex shows up and drops dead in Java Jive. Now, Juliet is the prime suspect and must do all she can to find the real killer. Her best friend Pete, along with some other great characters, are there to help her solve this case.

I don't want to give any spoilers, but

This is the fifth and final book in the Java Jive mystery series by Caroline Fardig. This series is so good it wouldn’t hurt my feelings if she added five more books to the mix. Just love it that much!

Basic premise: Juliet has finally gotten her private investigator’s license and her detective friend, Ryder is working with her and his new girlfriend Maya for her PI firm. Juliet’s old flame, Scott, who was responsible for her losing her last business after he stole all her money, wants h
It is a peaceful morning at the Java Java. Scott, Juliet ex-boyfriend enters the place. Upon seeing him the "Red Hair Devil" emerges and Juliet promptly punched him in the nose. Her friends stopped her before she can hit Scott again. He wants to talk with Juliet but she refused to talk with him. Scott returns in the evening. He asked Juliet to help him as there is none he can trust. His wife has been kidnapped. He is ill and dies after drinking coffee and water Pete brought him. A new homicide d ...more

Murder Over Mochas by Caroline Fardig is the best in the series!
From the very beginning, the story grabs your attention and it just keeps getting better and better.
Juliet Langley is such a great character, she is strong, independent and she loves with her whole heart.
She has grown more and more in each and every book and this story portrays her in such a way that you can't help but love her.
This story involves a blast from her past and tangles her in a web of deceit, revenge and lies.

Investigation is the best in the series to date. Episode # 5 just may be the final in the series as Juliet comes to decisions in this episode of Java Jive Mysteries.

Scott, Juliet's ex who stole everything from her including the music box Pete gave her, arrives at the coffee house begging for help to find his kidnapped wife. Juliet & Pete find themselves involved investigating Scott's death. Unethical business practices in pharmaceutical sales drag Ryder into helping Juliet back in her hometown

I love the Java Jive series!
Caroline Fardig delivers a great plot filled with twists and humorous moments.
I was hooked from the first chapter, and it was difficult to put down.
In this installment, the author gives us a glimpse of the characters from her other cozy-mystery series set in Juliette's home town (Liberty).
Would definitely recommend it to any cozy-mystery fan.

Note: I received an ARC for review purposes and an honest and un-biased opinion.

Business is good at Nashville's Java Jive Coffeehouse where Juliet Langley is the manager and her "best friend" Pete Bennett is the owner. Her fledgling second career as a PI keeps her busy and she is even making progress toward overcoming the crippling stage fright that destroyed her singing career. What could go wrong, right? Trouble comes in the form of Scott O'Malley, Juliet's former fiance who left her high and dry. Scott not only left her for a waitress that worked at the coffeehouse the t ...more

These Java Jive books are just magical! Fun, mysterious, romantic and well written. I drop everything else on my TBR pile to read these when one become available and it is worth it. The lively cast of characters and the storyline that keeps me interested because you never know what will happen to Juliet yet, make these a must read. This one did have a little different feel as Juliet made some very important life decisions, while solving the murder of her ex-fiancé with her bestie Pete and ex-boy ...more

Lots of twisty mystery with cameos from the Lizzie Hart series. Oh and the romance! There are tons of awwwww moments. Best one yet. Can't wait to see what happens to the red headed she devil next!

A blast from the past gets Nashville PI and coffeehouse manager Juliet Langley in hot water in this explosive mystery from the USA Today bestselling author of Death Before Decaf.

As a newly minted private eye, Juliet Langley has sworn to leave homicide to the authorities, limiting the scope of her investigations to cheating spouses and dirty business partners . . . like her ex-fiancé, Scott O’Malley. When Scott shows up unannounc

Caroline Fardig’s newest and, in my opinion, strongest of her Java Jive Mysteries, Murder Over Mochas, is quite entertaining and enjoyable. While I don’t know if this is the case, this book has the feel of a final book in a series, completing different arcs and seeing the maturing of Juliet Langley. She is still juggling attractions to a bevy of men but her heart, as always, belongs to her longtime best friend, Pete Bennett. This has been a recurring theme throughout the series, sometimes frustr ...more

I have have been a fan of the Java Jive series right from the first book. Juliette is an intriguing heroine who manages to be feisty and smart even if she does stumble into one calamity after another. It’s been fun reading about the on again off again threesome of Jules, her best friend Pete and her former boyfriend Ryder. I won’t give away who it is but she finally makes a decision but not until she is neck deep in murder again.
This time it is her ex who not only stole

3.5 stars review.

Okay… This is the 5th book in the series. As this is a cosy mystery series, the mystery is, and always was, the focus of the book. The romance, as tangled up as it is, was a background. Though for me, a very noisy background.

I loved the mystery story here. Scott, Juliet’s ex-fiancé that ran of with other woman and took all her money, arrived in town asked for help. And promptly dead in the coffee shop Juliet managed. The story ensued was so captivating and intriguing that I real

Well, Scott ends up dead at Java Jive and Juliette and Pete are prime suspects in a murder investigation.

I simply adore the Java Jive series! From the very start of book one I was engrossed and fully invested in Pete’s and Juliet’s story. As each additional book has come out I’ve eagerly devoured it and fell more in love with the returning characters. Their ups and downs- there are so many of the downs! Juliet's uncanny ability to always find herself embroiled in a new, murderous mystery while still trying to navigate the constant back and forth of her love life never fails to entertain and delight ...more

Honestly, I didn't expect to enjoy this one as much as I did.

I received an e-ARC of Murder Over Mochas courtesy of Netgalley and Alibi Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

The book had a very Nancy Drew vibe which I absolutely loved! I loved reading Nancy Drew as a kid and I really enjoyed reading this one now. The book does set itself apart as the characters are quite a lot more mature, but it did remind me of old days. The book is quite a light read and is more suitable for high school
