Yeah, I dunno. I assumed Moore would know what he was talking about having worked in that world for so long. Al Kennedy (of the excellent House to Astonish podcast.) sent me this link that goes into that Moore video from the Kirby Museum.
That all started because a friend of mine mentioned a tweet where the writer of Rocket girl said “Credit where due: Stan Lee is the most important figure in the history of comics. It’s not even debatable. And there will never be another.”— Which Is a position I find highly debatable.
I know it`s dude`s birthday, but I don`t think he reads my tumbr. my pal Joe made this joke on twitter `the real bitch of it is today used to be jack kirby’s birthday“
The point I like to make about who did what on the Lee and Kirby books is that after they worked together, Kirby made New gods and Lee did Stripperella…

Suggest reading it on roselia’s reader or batoto though, basically anywhere that isn’t automatically compressing the image.
I've been thinking about the stuff you say about hip hop and rap having a strong love for comics but comics not returning the love but what exactly is that love that hip hop for the medium? I'm still in shallow depths with hip hop so I'm probably coming of
Oh yeah from here. I was thinking of Hip Hop as a whole, past just rap, with Vaughn Bode’s huge influence on graffiti. Maybe stuff like comic artists doing classic rap covers for albums like Liquid Swords or The Sienkiewicz, Rza stuff.
but yeah, superheroes are certainly get mentioned a lot, which these days might even be less about the medium of comics and more just an overall pop culture thing.
