I feel like that happens a lot, anime movies based on manga not being nearly as good as they could be. At least the ones I've seen (GitS, Akira, etc.) It always feels like half a story, ya know?

I certainly have theories on the ways comics allows for a more singular vision. I guess the exception (at least for me) is FLCL, where the anime is something that I got into a lot more than the manga.(& stuff like Adventure time) 

Have you read "What I talk about when I talk about running?" it's a good short read by Murakami, in it he talks about his life as a writer... and running marathons and ultra marathons. He also turns the Mick Jagger quote "I'd rather be dead than singing 'S

Man, that Jagger quote is such a dumb kid thing to say. “never trust anyone over 30 woOOOooo”

What's your favorite Miyazaki film?

Maybe Porco rosso. I like everything I’ve seen of his.

Maybe I’m just comic book biased, but my favorite thing he did is the Nausicaa manga. I feel like the movie barely gets into what he did with it in comic panels. And the ending is one of my favorite in comics.

How's 8house coming along?

Quite goood. 

I think 5 issues are done, or near done now. I’m still working out what order to run them in. They should be in Previews sooon.
