Hello. I seem to recall you indicating somewheres that Prophet started out as a Pitt pitch, or something? What is Island's origin story, if I may ask? Also, any idea if Image is gonna offer Island, 8house and/or From Under Mountains through their new subsc

Prophet started out as something I didn’t know I was pitching. It was just from me and Joe Keatinge and Eric Stevenson talking in a bar.

The Pitt pitch ended up kind of as 8house. After we did the Liefeld stuff Stevenson was talking about doing something like that for some Top cow books. I think it was Keatinge on Cyberforce, me on Pitt. (I wanted Mike Vega to draw it) Marian was gonna do an old witchy Witchblade and we were taking about dragging in Adam Warren for something. I also wanted to get Carla Speed McNeil on something, but that was more talk— I never reached out to her.

It never really got off the ground and turned into something entirly new.

Island I think came out of a conversation with Simon Roy. just talking about what we’d ideally want to do.

& yeah, I assume they’ll be available through the subscription . I’ll talk to Image and post more about it closer to the print date.- and thanks.

hchomgoblin:

When I started my last DA:I game (with my same elf, again, because I have a problem) I decided that her story would carry a lot more weight if it played out in a nightmare version of the world, in which the heroes were all giant entitled jerks (and with the difficulty set to Nightmare, for added verisimilitude).

I only meant to throw together a quick Keep world state, flagging all the worst possible decisions; but then of course I ended up getting really involved in the jerk Warden and the jerk Hawke, and I practically wrote their full length biographies in order to understand what complex motivations prompted their every trivial decision.

And then I had to draw them. And since I was drawing them, I figured I might as well make game-relevant tarot cards. All this effort, for a couple of assholes (even if I DID work hard to make them fascinating, nuanced assholes). Now I suppose I’ll have to make cards for my Inquisitor, too. Multiple cards? Because, you know, character growth…

Since MW will be a part of Island, will it get separate issue releases?

It’ll run in Island and then be collected as it’s own book.

That’ll allow me to play around more with the length of each issue. so I can do more 5 page Nura stories If I want to without having to worry about fitting them into a 30 page issue.

Ideally all the stuff that’ll run along with it in Island is something people who like my stuff will also like.

Some recent sketches for things I drew.

I did a The Wicked + The Divine cover this weekend. I think the guys are gonna show it later this week, but here’s some of the sketches.

and I drew some ideas for robots for Thomas who runs Beach ball comics in Anaheim, CA.

I’ve been slowly digging my way out of deadlines and having a blast doing it.
