Gun control

The new issue of D.C.'s free comics newspaper, Magic Bullet , includes my comic about gun control. Below is a part of it. To read the rest, you'll have to grab a copy MB6 from one of the places that carry it around D.C. (you can see the locations here) or I can mail you a copy for $3, to cover envelope and postage. (I realize the irony of taking on the NRA to task in a publication called Magic Bullet.)

Sneak peek

Here's a glimpse at part of a promotional poster that I've done for an upcoming book from Fulcrum Publishing (spring 2014). I should have the poster for the American Library Association conference in Chicago this summer.

Q: What percent of squid are time travelers?

A: 67. It's a scientific fact.
I'm working with Tina Seamonster to print theses on T-shirts or tote bags. Which would folks prefer?

Who's that artist?

My family went out for lunch yesterday at our local Famous Dave's BBQ restaurant. If you haven't been there, the decor is a throwback to old fishing, hunting, camping gear, etc. There are also some related signs and postings, with most coming from Midwest states. Anyway, the illustration on this sign (below) caught my eye. A closer look showed it was done by a comics icon. Take a look.

Inking project

I'm inking a project for Fulcrum Publishing (Mike Short on pencils). With 107 pages done, I feel I'm in the home stretch--kinda.

Win a signed copy of 'District Comics'

Hey, folks!

To celebrate Presidents' Day, I'm giving away a copy of District Comics that is signed by a dozen of the contributing writers and artists! To enter, email us a photo of the book displayed at your library, school, college, bookstore or other shop. If someone is reading it or thumbing through it, all the better! We'll post these photos and at week's end we'll select a winner! (Email to: mattdembicki (at) gmail (dot) com)
