SPACE Prizes
Got the "hardware" this weekend at the Small Press and Alternative Comics Expo in Columbus, Ohio, for First Place for Xoc and Second Place for District Comics. Big thanks to all the contributors in the anthology and double kudos to my pal Evan Keeling, who pulled coloring duties on Xoc and for a story in District Comics.

Smudge Comics Arts Expo on March 8
The exhibitors are posted, the programming is set, the blog is rolling with cool cartoons from kids, and now we're finishing up some awesome items for the show, like button pins and T-Shirts! AND following the show there is a showing of 'Dear Mr. Watterson,' a documentary about Calvin & Hobbs (with live music by the band that contributed to the soundtrack!)
Don't forget: March 8, noon-6 p.m., Artisphere in Rosslyn, Va.! It's a block from Metro's orange line and there is validated parking at the building. Plus the event is FREE!

A look into MB8
For my story in the upcoming Magic Bullet #8 (that's the D.C. Conspiracy's free semi-annual comics newspaper), I'm returning to the ocean. Here's a peak.

The new Smudge! Expo
My friend Tina Henry and I are organizing a new indie comics show in the D.C. area for March 8 called Smudge! Although it will feature exhibitors selling their indie comics and related items, we also want the show to inspire new cartoonists, especially kids. To do that, we will include hands-on workshops as well as a few interactive panels. If you're interested in applying for a table, click here. Meanwhile, below are a few drafts of logos I did for the show. We went with the one that is colored, but I kinda like the other ones, too.
