Hey :) I had the honour of meeting you when you came to Oshawa in August, and I'm still bragging about it lol. Thank you again for the 99% cat hair free shirt. I have a question for you about something that's been driving me batty regarding Thirteen. I hav
Glad you liked the 99% cat-hair-free shirt :) The Canadian publisher did 13 in white to signify that it’s different from the rest—it’s the final book. Unfortunately, readers have complained for the same reason you mentioned—it doesn’t match. I don’t think that was something they considered. I’m a bit of an…anomaly for them—they publish a lot of CanLit and those readers don’t care what the books look like on the shelf :) I have mentioned it, though, for the future.
Would you ever consider to write a book about Cassandra or Aaron?
I always intended a Cass book, but it never worked out. I struggled to come up with a full-length story for her other than “a retrospective of her life” The retrospective would have been fun, but it wouldn’t have fit with the series, which are more adventure driven.
Hello! This may be a random question, but the symbol that's used underneath the number of each chapter of the darkest powers trilogy, does it happen to mean anything?
Nope, it’s just a wingding. Not a random question—it’s been asked before and makes me wish I could find something that really was significant and have them use that instead, which would be much cooler than “it means nothing”
Is the Cainsville world on it's own or does it link in with any of your other books?
It’s not the Otherworld. It could exist in the same universe as the Nadia books, but I haven’t decided if it does.
Having been to both of the Halloween events (Ghost Walks and Author Readings) at McMaster Uni (back in 2008 and 09), I was wondering if you were going to be part of anything like that again, this year or in the future?
I would love to do more of these if I was ever invited! I can tell great ghost stories :)
In the Darkness Rising series, are sileni only boys like xana are only girls?
Yes. Or that was the plan, though to be honest, since I never actually said it in a book, it’s subject to change at the whim of the author :)

So, I'm unsure if you are the one behind every feature on your wonder website, but I'm just letting you know that Bewitched is missing from the chronological timeline pdf file. It took me this long to realize this fact and I'm so obsessed with you
Ah, right. It was. We fixed that recently. Which is another reason why it would be good if I replied to these in a timely fashion. Thanks!

I signed up for your virtual event but something came up so I didn't listen in as I had planned. Regardless I would like to learn the answer to my question: In "BItten" Clayton actively pursues Elena, how possessive is he towards her? How does this possess
Hmm. Terminology is the key here. He’s protective of her, because that’s his nature, but she’s equally protective of him, and in both cases it’s “I want to watch your back” rather than “I want you to stay in the cave while I guard the entrance.” He’s possessive of her time and attention, which is an ongoing issue that he’s worked to resolve since Bitten—he’d recognized it there and realized it needed to change. He’s not possessive of her as a person, as in “you are my property.” She’s his partner. Nor is there sexual jealousy, because once she’s committed herself to him, he knows she’s not going to stray, no more than he is. Again, that’s their wolf nature.
