So you aren't writing another series to go with the darkest powers trilogy? I enjoyed those so much and was looking forward to the new ones exitedly
Do you mean the Darkness Rising trilogy? That’s where Chloe’s story wraps up, as those characters meet with the new ones to solve their shared problem. If you mean “other than Darkness Rising” see the answer below :)
Hi! I'm wondering if you'll ever revisit Chloe and Maya and the gang I loved the Darkest Powers and Darkness Rising series!
I’m a little late returning from the holidays. Taking time off just means a bigger pile of work to do when I get back. Tumblr sadly fell off the To-Do list. But I’m back and I’m going to whip through some Asks, starting with this one. And with this answer, I’m going to delete all variations on “more Chloe & Maya” as I’ll attempt to answer it here. Hate deleting questions unanswered…but there are a LOT of this one.
Both Maya and Chloe will return this spring in a free online novella set after The Rising. Beyond that, I don’t know what I’m doing with them. Ask me again after the novella :)
That story will start in May. I’ll post it chapter by chapter on my site. It’ll be free until fall, then I’ll pull it down, tidy it up and post it as an ebook (not free!)

Visions Canadian Cover & ARC Contest
Last post of 2013 for me, as I go offline until January 6. And it’s another contest! This one with my second cover reveal of the week. You’ll see the Canadian cover of Visions (Cainsville 2) below, along with my comments and the contest. For more on Visions, click here.
I like this cover. There’s one obvious concern that I’ll deal with before others point it out :) Forests + canines + me = werewolves, and there are no werewolves in this book. However, forest + canines works very well for Visions, in which we see the hound at the end of Omens play a much larger role, and the forest also begins playing a large role—the forest in opposition to the town, as representative of two opposing supernatural forces, as I build my mythology for this universe. So I actually argued in favor of this cover over one with poppies. Poppies play a role in Visions too (as they did in Omens) but to me, poppies = WWI and that cover made it look like a period drama, So this was my choice and we’ll wait to see if it was the right one!
I’m going to give away winners choice of Omens hardcover (available now), Visions ARC* (coming in the spring) or Visions hardcover (late August)
How to enter: email contest@kelleyarmstrong.com and answer the question “What are both first names of the main character in Omens?”
One entries will be randomly drawn from all correct responses received.
Deadline: midnight Eastern Saturday, December 21. Not sure what that is in your time zone? Check here.
My contests are always open to everyone, everywhere. One entry per person.
Winners are contacted by email. Alison send me the names after hearing back, and I sometimes remember to post them here!
* ARC = Advance Reader Copy
Brazen Giveaway!
Brazen is my 2013 Otherworld novella from Subterranean Press. Never heard of these? I do one a year for SubPress, and they’re limited edition hardcover novellas approximately 40% as long as my novels. Brazen is a Nick story. More on it here. The ebook has been out since Dec 1. The hardcover is shipping now. I don’t have my copies yet. They seem to be at the border, meaning I won’t get them before I got offline for the holidays. So I’m running my contest anyway. Alison will handle it from here :)
I’m going to give away 2 of the trade version hardcover and 1 of the leather-bound one.
Prize: hardcover of Brazen novella, 3 to be awarded
How to enter: email contest@kelleyarmstrong.com and just answer the question “Where did you first hear of this contest?” (Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter)
Three entries will be randomly drawn from all responses received.
Deadline: midnight Eastern Saturday, December 21. Not sure what that is in your time zone? Check here.

Hi Kelley, I'm a huge fan of your novels and it's through them I was able to meet my two best friends so first I'd like to say: Thank you so much for that! Second, I noticed you're doing a Canadian tour for your next book and I was wondering if there would
My publisher sent me to Regina and Saskatoon once. It was January. Yeah, not the best timing :) I spent eight hours in the Saskatoon airport for flight delays, which is one reason I now avoid travel in winter! But I’m sure I’ll get out there in the next year or so again, because it’s been a while. I think that last trip was 2009.
