Hi Kelley, Just curious but I was wondering if there were any plans to introduce Derek and Chloe to the Pack and/or Jamie Vegas in the future?
It’s possible but it’s a timeline issue. You’ll find a fuller explanation here.
Hello! I was curious on how you get a plot for a story and go with it. I wish to write a story myself, but every time I try to do so, I get stuck on how to go about it. Any advise would be great. Thank you and have a nice day.
It’s really hard to explain “how” I get my plots. I’ve been writing so long that ideas come from everywhere. For an example of how I got one idea and how I developed it into a book, check this post.
Once you have the idea, you just keep writing the story until it’s done. There’s no magic trick there. It’s simply a matter of saying “I’m going to finish this” and sticking to it.
Thank you for being as awesome as you are!! I was wondering how many books readers can expect from Cainsville. I know you are working on book 3 but I'm hoping for more!
I’m hoping for 5 or 6. I’m done 3 and there are still questions to be answers and character development not yet complete, so I’m hoping I get to do a few more books in it :)

Are you ever going to come to Newfoundland? I would be so happy if you did.
I was there this summer on vacation. Does that count? :) I would love to go for an event someday. It seems to be one of the provinces that authors just don’t get sent to, though. If I get a chance, you can be sure I’ll take it.
I love The Darkest Powers trilogy, will there be a movie? *please tell us will be and a movie!*
I’ll say, with some hesitation, that rights have been sold. And I hesitate, because i know when I say that, some readers hear “A TV/movie is coming!” Not so. Selling rights is very common and it’s only the first step in a process that rarely goes further. But the part I can control—to sell or not—is done :)
Hi! So I was rereading Beginnings today and realized just how much I love reading from both perspectives. And I know you said you would write little stories in the Otherworld again, so I was wondering if you would consider writing something in both Elena a
The dual POV really needs to be reserved for stories that can’t be told from one view or the other. Beginnings was one of those—as was Personal Demon. If it can be told from one POV, then I think it’s better to stick to that. Which is to say that while I wouldn’t avoid another Clay + Elena joint narration, I’m happier doing one or the other per story.
As for having more than one idea for a story, I do brainstorm possible ideas, but it’s usually obvious which one “wins”—it’s the one with the most potential for conflict, emotion, etc.

Hello Kelley, I just finished reading your latest novel, Omens, and I just wanted to say it was brilliant. Having read your other novels over the years, I was curious as to how you were inspired to write Omens? Compared to your Women of the Otherworld seri
I felt that, if I was starting a new series with supernatural elements, it was a good time to shift away from the traditional monsters. When I wrote Bitten fifteen years ago, there weren’t a lot of werewolves in pop culture. Now they’re everywhere. Same goes for many of the other “monsters.” I think they can still be done very well, with new twists, but it’s much tougher than it was a decade ago. And my own interests in the supernatural go far beyond werewolves/witches/vampires/demons, so Omens gave me a chance to explore something new that I love.
I just read that you wrote that you will not being a spin off anymore of the world of Chloe and Maya. But I was just wondering if maybe you plan on doing anything with Kat? I loved reading her story in Hunting Kat. Possibly another novella to find out more
I’d like to do another Kat story or bring her into the world of the others. My current plan for the new Chloe/Derek story is to either introduce Kat or bring Rae back. I’m leaning toward Rae because it has more emotional resonance for Chloe. Opinions are welcome!
