Will Nadia get a tv show like Elena one day

That’s the one series I’ve never had much TV/movie interest in. I suspect “hitwoman protagonist” is a little more than anyone cares to tackle :)

If any of your novels were to be created into a movie (I.e: The darkest powers, etc) Would you consider producing or directing it?

Absolutely not! I’m far too much of a control freak to play any part in a movie or TV show adaptation. I’m accustomed to being the master of my fictional worlds. I couldn’t do anything with that much collaboration and shared control. It’d be very creatively frustrating. I love my editors and their advice makes my books much better, but the final word is always mine, and that’s how I like it :)

Hi! :) I was wondering if you've ever watched American Horror Story. The new season has mentioned necromancy and witchcraft and it of course reminded me so much of The Darkest Powers series(favorite series EVER, by the way).

I watch the first season. Skipped the second—the plot seemed a little too…much for me. I do want to see the new one, though. Looks like my style than season two.

How do you chose names for your characters?

I used to choose them with great care, using baby namer books and getting just the right meaning. That gets tougher after 22 novels and dozens of novellas and short stories! These days, I just scan names from this site http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/ using the characters birth year to find a popular (or unpopular) name for that time period…one I haven’t used before.

And sometimes, I completely screw up and get overlapping names. In one of my new series, I have a main character named Gabriel. In the other, I have a Gavril. My excuse is that I didn’t write them back to back. By the time i realized the similarity, it was too late—those names were too firmly attached to the characters. My daughter thinks it’s hilarious. She asks if I’ll have a Gavriel next. Yeah, yeah…

Not sure if you've been asked this before, but did you know there is a neighbourhood called "Stonehaven" in Toronto (I guess, GTA). Is this where you got the name for the Danver's residence, or was it from another source/just came up with it? What about Be

The names for Stonehaven and Bear Valley weren’t based on anything. I wanted an estate name and pictured a stone house and it’s their “haven” so that worked. Bear Valley just sounded like a good upstate NY blue-collar town name.

I've been wondering this for a little while, but seeing as the Otherworld Series is in the same world and theme as The Darkest Powers and Darkness Rising stories, is there a chance that characters from Otherworld may appear in the adventures of Chloe and M

It’s possible, but I’ve run into timeline issues. The Rising is set in 2008. 13 was set in 2009. But the latest Pack novella I wrote is 2012 & there’s no mention of Derek. There can’t be, because he’d be 20, and if I had him in that story at 20, the YA readers would be horrified—what happened to the last four years!!

Do you think you'll publish graphic novels for the Darkest Powers & Darkness Rising trilogy's; like the one Simon & Chloe were working on?

It would be fun, but I don’t foresee it fitting into the schedule any time soon. Sorry!
