Dear Flowered Concrete Followers,

Exactly last Thursday evening, our very own Kevin Eleven was featured along with two other authors at the Inspired Word NYC’s monthly reading event series, We Heart NYC Writers Night.

In between featured readers, the event featured an open mic where artists of all kinds were fortunate enough to read their own works, thus, adding to the pot of artists and writers slated to highlight their material.

As Kevin Eleven prepped for his reading set, he was eventually informed that he would be closing out the night and in which he did with rousing fashion.

As he read excerpts from his latest work, the crowd held onto his every word and laughed or chuckled at all the right moments.

Once the night was over, the author sold and autographed three copies of his latest novel to individuals within the crowd.

For more of an idea…

Having seen an appeal on Twitter-for Bloggers wanted to review a book-I was sent two books by Flowered Concrete. They’re by Kevin Eleven-two follow on detective stories.

Sometimes switching narrative voices, these two books are about how police ranks have (fictionally) been infiltrated in America. That’s the whole part of the problem-complete with murder, blood, etc-because the main characters have yet to realise this in the first book. Gradually, they have to overcome it-and by the second book deal with the aftermath.

Tales of the 23rd Precinct is easily readable-and can be done in a day. It’s addictive, urging the reader to move on (quickly) to Frankly Twisted. With fast paced action-such as a cop shoot out, plots, robberies-and snappy changing scenes, any detective fan will enjoy this book. It is not too highbrow-and can be taken in large doses at a time. A good book usually has this affect…

Dear Flowered Concrete Followers,

We here at Flowered Concrete had an amazing start to our weekend last Friday, as our very own, Kevin Eleven gave out twenty free copies of his latest novel, frankly TWISTED: the lost files to random patrons in between the Strand Bookstore and Forbidden Planet, two locale book stores packed with both great literature and aesthetically illustrated comics.

Many of the passerby’s thought that the Flowered Concrete team were pulling their legs when they continuously yelled out, “FREE BOOK, FREE BOOK!” However, Kevin Eleven, Alton Taylor and Mia Hill used their boisterous energy and magnetic smiles to not only lure people in but to engage them while persuading how free the books actually were. Below, you will find a brief visual clip of the evening’s festivities as the crew really enjoyed handing out the twenty signed copies of the latest novel as well as the postcards…

Requested Review – “Frankly Twisted”: The Lost Files, Kevin 11 Read 9/6/15

Kevin Eleven:

#franklyTWISTED Review by Claudia F. Vogt of Bernie & Books

Originally posted on Bernie and Books:

“Frankly Twisted”: The Lost Files by Kevin 11 is the second book in a trilogy that follows the 23rd precinct of the Brooklyn Police Department. Although this book is the second in the series it is a prequel to the events of the first which actually made it a great starting point for a new comer like me.

The story follows the men and women whose job it is to fight crime in New York City. However, all is not as it seems in the 23rd precinct and the reason as to why cases keep stalling and going cold is far from what anyone imagined.

My first thought when reading this book is how much it feels like a TV series. The chapters are episodes and the cases within them are solved by the time the imagined credits role. Similarly, throughout every episode there are hints of something bigger that builds…
