The teens at Cambria Heights display their talents as they quickly get accustomed to the drawing teachings of Alton Taylor (Lead Art Director of Flowered Concrete).
Hello Flowered Concrete Followers,
Its been a full month since we last informed you all upon Flowered Concretes Zine To Reach Your Dreams literacy tour, headed by both Kevin Anglade, (Founder/Publisher) and Alton Taylor (Lead Art Director/VP). Over the past two weeks, the two have led both sessions by intertwining basic-level drawing with fundamentals in creative writing and as well as enhancing both technique and skill.
Furthermore, the two have honestly been having loads of fun as they have seen results of their mentoring and teaching trickle down upon all of their workshop participants.
Some of the activities the teens have undergone with both Anglade and Taylor are free-writing, free-drawing, read and reflection, improvisational drawing games and team games centered around literacy and drawing

Kendrick Lamar’s new album is called To Pimp A Butterfly, and it has pretty stunning artwork
The cover art for Kendrick Lamar’s upcoming LP is endearingly fascinating. The Compton MC, has recently stated that he is on a “mission.” A mission that puts lyrics and as well “substantial” art in every sense of the word at the forefront. There is no doubt that in the mainstream today, there currently isn’t a lyricist that is as dedicated to inspiring the masses as Kendrick is. If there is one thing that we should learn from this artwork is that Kendrick plans on telling the story of black America and along the way, he has no plans of remorse for anyone that opposes him. Not only should the black community listen up, but America in its entirety should listen as well. This artist has a lot to say and you can guarantee that he is going to say something…

Kendrick Lamar has revealed the title and artwork for his upcoming third studio album. To PimpA Butterfly is no doubt a play on the title of Harper Lees politically charged 1960 novel To Kill A Mockingbird. Meanwhile, the album artwork depicts a group of black menstanding in front of the White House, holding money and alcohol, while a dead judge lies at their feet.
One possible and very logical explanation via Reddit:
The cover and title say all you need to know about the album. These guys are in front of the white house and theyre holding cash, alcohol, and a little kid has his middle finger up. People are pimping this butterfly this beautiful culture, BUT, Kendrick is saying that we are letting it happen. Theyre in front of the white house, a huge symbol of freedom, and theyre ignorant enough to hold bottles while

Dear Flowered Concrete Followers,
As we now enter the month of March, we look forward to many things that we will be apart of. First and foremost, as mentioned before, our Zines To Reach Your Dreams workshop seriesbegins today at Cambria Heights Library, secondly, our very own Kevin Anglade (Publisher/Founder) & Alton Taylor (Lead Art Director/Company Consultant) have been hard at work gearing up for an onslaught of projects due to be published later on within the year.
The two have been so dedicated to the companys schedule, that they have often been pulling all-nighters throughout the entire calendar month of February on weekends.
Taylor, has been spending many nights throughout the past few weeks at Anglades house (Flowered Concrete Headquarters). Now some of you may be asking, Is this actuallynecessary?
But the duo on the other handseems to think so as they are fully and mutually convinced that their

Last year at this time, both Alton Taylor, (25) & Kevin Anglade (24) were wondering how exactly they would grasp the attention of readers for their first book reading which took place at the Richmond Hill branch of the Queens Library in May of 2014.
Furthermore, the two had such a successful event that the Assistant Coordinator of Youth Services for the Queens Library system by the name of Melissa Malanuk, caught wind about it andbooked Anglade for a poetry workshop back in December (you can read about it here).
Going forward into the new year, both Taylor and Anglade are excited to announce that they will be traveling throughout various parts of Queens and will visitseveral libraries for what will be called the Zines To Reach Your Dreams workshop series.

What I am going to do to make is start up a clothing line and a magazine just for the DMV.
What I want to do with this clothing line is show the Pharcyde (far side) of the DMV; the better side. I want people to see what I see and know this place as gorgeous. I want people to report possitive news, let young people tell their vision and be paid for

Tales of the 23rd Precinct is an outstanding novel that will captivate readers interest unlike any other. The novel is well written and has a uniqueness about it that most novels dont have today. Kevin Anglade wrote his compelling novel by building up his characters and showing the world who they are inside and out. This alone makes it one fabulous read that will never bore you as the characters find themselves within the plot. The three main characters are detectives. Deborah Lane, Luke Fisher, and Frank Mathtews each go through their own journey of self discovery as the crimes and mysteries unfold. Suspense at every corner and a thrill that will keep readers reading all night long. I highly recommend Tales of the 23rd Precinct to every reader. The scenes are vibrant and the words come to life. A very intriguing story that everyone must read! Overall, I rate
