Does This Make God Happy?
In a world and culture in which people and human nature more than ever before seem to be devoted to going to any lengths to make ourselves happy any way we can, I have learned over the years two wild, beautiful, and infinitely rewarding truths about the Lord God almighty and happiness.
First, no happiness based on the fleeting pleasures of this life compares to the joy of the Lord, a personal forever relationship with Him, and living wholly and humbly for Him and no longer living for...

Thank God for Rejection
If there is anything I hate I have tons of experience with, it’s rejection. Ick. Yuck. Ugh. I despise it. I have always been sensitive and emotional. You can only imagine. Yet not only has the Lord been teaching me to handle it with trust in Him and love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness for those who reject me, but I have learned to be thankful for it. How so?
God has used it to draw me ever closer to Himself and to deepen my relationship with Him, to refine me, grow me, teach me, test me, p...

When the Devil Tries to Turn You Back
“Be very, very careful,” the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart. “The enemy is going to try to turn you back.”
Less than 48 hours after arriving at my latest location on the road for Jesus and ministry for nearly 5 years, albeit just a 2-week stop on my way to my next big location, here I sit writing this. The Lord just gave me an ultra clear warning which does not surprise me in the least. I have loads of experience starting to move forward in the Lord’s instructions for me in life and min...
Total Surrender to God
For years I wasn’t surrendered to God in the least. Then I was a little bit surrendered to Him. Today I am totally surrendered to the Lord. I am a totally devoted follower of the Lord Jesus Christ. Now this doesn’t mean I don’t stumble and fall. It doesn’t mean I am perfect. I am anything but. But it means my heart’s cry is to love and serve the Lord with all my heart. And I finally understand God didn’t create us to live for self according to the world’s ways. He created us to live totally...

Not Hating is NOT Enough
God tells us in His Word that if we profess to love Him but hate someone we are liars. But God doesn’t just tell us NOT to hate people. He doesn’t tell us merely to tolerate people. He commands us to LOVE others.
Well this is a pretty tall order, don’t you think? Sometimes we may even believe this to be impossible. Certain people we’re just bound to hate, right? Or at the very most to muster up the strength to simply like them. But in all honesty there may be certain people throughou...
Peace WITH God
It would be hard to imagine there has ever been a human who walked the face of this earth who did not want peace and in some way pursue it. Thank the Lord He is the God of peace and that we can have the peace of God – and that we can have peace WITH God. I never noticed the marvelous intricacies of peace concerning God until I read a book long ago by evangelist Billy Graham who has since gone on to be with the Lord. The Lord used his writing to help me to go deeper in my understanding of peace. ...
Thanksgiving for Trials & Tribulations
How can God’s children have Thanksgiving to Him when we’re in the thick of our trials? We can turn to the Lord & put our trust in Him & rejoice IN HIM & be thankful TO HIM for His love, beauty, magnificence, splendor, glory, comfort, healing, hope, peace, joy, wisdom, promise of eternity to His followers, kindness, blessings, provision, mercy, lordship, sovereignty, His Spirit, His Word, for how He transforms us through our trials, for how He draws us closer to Himself, for how He uses our trial...

More Peas Please
When I peered into my little hotel room fridge, which I have become well accustomed to given I have been on the road for some years now full-time loving and serving the Lord and others, I saw them! I was thrilled! Wow! What a surprise! I had forgotten about them! What? The peas! Oh, yes, that very day I could eat more peas! Bring on the peas! More peas please! Perhaps you wonder what my peas in their little container could have to do with being thankful to the Lord. Please let me tell you.
Peas ...

Thankful for Serving
When I came across a passage in the Bible about the apostle Paul being thankful essentially for God calling him into his ministry work, the word ministry per Strong’s concordance coming from a Greek word that also is used as “service”, I knew immediately there was a powerful message. About serving. About Thanksgiving. About being thankful for serving.
We humans in our sin nature without God are self-centered, selfish, self-seeking, etc. We may think of serving as an obligation. We may think of i...
