Stop Running Away

The Lord told me one day by His Holy Spirit to stop running away. I knew exactly what He was speaking to my heart about. An old pattern. A bad pattern. A fleshly pattern. An I’m-uncomfortable-so-I’m-going-to-run-from-this pattern. Now He was telling me essentially ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Time to stop running away. Time to stay and obey. But lest you think I’m going to share more details with you, I am not. Why? Because I am compelled to share this message with you not for me but for you. Do you have a...

My Best Friend

In retrospect, as I edit this book and prepare it for publication, I never expected I would have finished up my first draft of the messages on Thanksgiving Day which miraculously was only about the 4th day of writing it. It was a long day of intense writing, and I was so thankful to a long-time friend who dropped off my laundry she had done and some turkey  for me. I asked her to set all of it down on and by my car so she wouldn’t interrupt my writing when she got to the hotel where I was stayin...

Such a Tragic Story

God sent me to a town way up in the northeast portion of America one day that I knew was known for being in the thick of a horrific drug epidemic, but what I witnessed in the only about 30 minutes or so I spent there blew me totally away. You may think I was upset and unthankful God sent me there. But I could not be more thankful to God for sending me there and for what He did through me that day. Sometimes the hardest things God calls us to do, see, hear, watch, experience, etc. are the most in...

How Can I Possibly Rejoice?

I cannot begin to tell you how many times in recent years the Lord has brought to my attention as I study the Bible the seemingly endless references to being joyful, rejoicing, praising God, celebrating, being happy, making joyful noises, dancing, victory, etc. I used to resent and be jealous of people who were happy because I was so filled with self-pity, sorrow, depression, discouragement, negativity, hurt, bitterness, and the like. The idea that God would call His followers to REJOICE – and t...

When We Don’t Get Our Way

Per the Bible, God CAN give us exceedingly abundantly more than we can possibly think or imagine, and ALL things are possible to those who believe. But God does NOT promise us He will give us all that we want on this earth! So how do we respond when we don’t get our way? Do we respond with love, joy, thanksgiving, and trust in God and in His perfect will and perfect timing for and in our lives? Or, do we act like little children who throw temper tantrums and have pity parties when they don’t get...

Thank God for Heaven

I used to pridefully judge people who talked and sang all the time about heaven as though they were fools to not simply figure out how to enjoy their lives now and should stop all this focus-on-heaven stuff. Now, for two humongous reasons, I can understand their extreme focus on heaven. First, many like myself have dealt with such challenging lives on this earth that it is a relief and great joy to realize that we who follow Jesus can look forward to being with God forever in a place with no pai...

Amazing New York City Testimony

How utterly amazing the Lord is! Today He sent me from my hotel in New Jersey back into New York City for more streets ministry there. I had a phenomenal time walking for miles preaching, passing out tracts, ministering to people, praying, and worshiping the Lord as I walked. Exhausted and very ready to catch my bus back to my hotel to care for my special needs ministry dogs and excited to enjoy a plain rotisserie chicken I had just purchased from Whole Foods in my ever effort to get enough prot...

Don’t Forget the Lord!

In the verses below, Moses whom God used to help deliver the Israelites out of bondage in Egypt WARNS THE PEOPLE. How so? He tells them when God blesses them beyond measure in the land He will give them NOT TO FORGET GOD.  Moses doesn’t tell them not to forget simply what God did for them. He tells them not to forget him period! Wow! Not only can we forget to thank God! We can also forget Him altogether! This is tragic, and this is wrong. And we need to be ultra careful NOT TO FORGET GOD – AND n...
